Lanternium is a nice puzzle game that has potential but sadly fails in too many things.

The camera is awful and the main reason why Im giving it thumbs down-In a puzzle game such as this you should be able to see the whole map and use the mouse to move the camera but instead you have to constantly rotate the camera and the angles on the cam view are awful.

Second,the controls are clunky and slow when you need to be fast.

Graphics are awful and the whole game is so ugly your eyes will hurt.

Music is repetitive and boring.

Aerial is a brand-new 3D auto-runner, indie-platformer that features a colorful world in a sci-fi setting. Here you get to take on the role of the silent protagonist Wally, who is running as fast as possible to outrun those who are trying to catch up with him.

During the game, you will get to experience a stylish none-combative platformer that goes through very linear gameplay with the character having quite a few awesome semi-pro parkour tricks up his sleeve.

So I just beat the game and the whole time I felt like I was playing a Jet Set Radio Future spin off. Which is a good thing for someone like me since that Sega classic is a top three favorite of mine. The stylistic cel-shaded aesthetic and the rhythmic jazzy hip-hop musicality feed into the rebellious atmosphere of the game and the protagonist perfectly. Especially as they attempt to escape from the clutches of a shady organization that attempts to capture or destroy them for reasons the game hopes you artistically interpret.

## Altered

Altered doesn't appear to be on many wishlists so I thought I'd give peeps the heads up: it's a really good game! There. Now you know. Wishlist it and get it in the next sale.

At its core I suppose Altered is sokoban-ish, but that description is inadequate as the game features some clever and thoughtful mechanics that elevate it way above yer run-of-the-mill block pusher. It's genuinely hard to explain these mechanics but thankfully at the time of writing this review there's a demo. I urge you to give it a try (assuming you enjoy well-designed puzzle games).

Just unlocked the electric figure and this is an amazing puzzle game; it has solid mechanics that has depth and subtlety, and a beautiful Zen aesthetic to boot. The graphics looks just as polished and elegant as the tough but logical puzzles hidden underneath it. I especially appreciate the transitional music note and the dreamy flash of light when the level is finished; I can find nothing that is so therapeutic, rewarding and Zen. It is a nice touch. Overall, it is a 10/10 and a "would recommend". Do expect this game to be rather difficult, as it is meant to be. There will be plenty of hair scratching and it can get frustrating fast; one principle that I find very helpful, however, is to not repeat stuff that does not work. If a strategy or a theory does not seem to work, it is best to try to understand why it fails (whenever you find a move is impossible, for example), and continue from there. :)

## Breakneck City

One of the reasons I love Steam is I keep finding games I didn't know I need. I feel that developers loved the Dynamite Deka series and wanted to create a similar game but in a Double Dragon mold. The gameplay handles well with a controller and the boss fights have real character. One sword wielding foe tosses one of his blades in air to free up his hand and spit a fireball across the screen. Small touches like this indicate a love for the genre.

A fantastic throwback to 3D beat 'em ups, a genre that is woefully undeserved given that we mainly throwbacks to 2D beat 'ems ups that are inspired by the likes of Final Fight or Streets of Rage rather than games following the Dynamite Deka or Spikeout lineage.

Combat is pretty simple, there's no Devil May Cry style move list, but the fundamentally solid basic attacks and a great feeling dash combine with top notch level design, clever environmental interactions, dynamic enemy types make for a really fun time.

## Kine

I really liked Kine. It's a fun puzzle game about moving one or more of three musical instrument characters around what looks like a simple block oriented course. Each puzzle only takes a few moves but it's not as simple as it sounds because it involves rotating the character and extending their 'limbs' to help movement. Movement from one position to another is very slick and its just as easy to revert a move so the game encourages a try and see if it works approach. The music is fun and there is a story which ties it all together.

### Quality puzzle game in terms of production value

The most impressive thing for me about this game is the visuals. The comic book art-style is lovely. The music stands out, too, which isn't surprising in a game where you play as anthropomorphic musical instruments aspiring to be musicians. I did find it a bit too lively and upbeat at times, though, which can be a bit distracting when you're doing puzzles that require patience and focus to solve, but this is pretty much a nitpick, easily remedied by turning the volume down a bit. On top of that, this is a relatively narrative-driven puzzle game, where the story is told via dialogue by the characters in the form of speech bubbles. There are three characters altogether, and they each have their own personalities! There's no voice acting in the game, but that is probably too much to expect from an indie puzzle game where a lot of effort has already been put into the visuals and music.

## Sphere Game

only complaint would be that the levels are a bit simple and often rely on misdirection, the camera doesn't make things much easier nor does the weight of the ball being very heavy

Sphere Game is a very basic Unity rolling ball puzzle game where you must roll a ball around various 3D levels. There's numerous asset packs and tutorials for making this game, I'm not sure which one the "developer" has flipped to make this, but it's almost certainly a flip.

This is a very simple game with little serious merit for gamers, being copied/flipped from an asset pack/tutorial. This may be a simple cash grab as the developer sold keys to DailyIndieGame so it could be part of shovelware game bundles.

## Twilight Drive

```
Twilight Drive is is unlucky most top-down driving games, at first you might be thinking this is absolute rubbish, but the moment you are playing it and trying it, it is something else. This one of the kind of games that are more about time-trialling, a race against time for the medals, and better times than your friends (if you have any that play it, unlike me). But first you realize, there is no accelerator key for it. At first, I was thinking it, this has to be a mobile game. It is more than that. The car automatically goes on it forwards, on cruise control. With each time you turn your car, and do bear in mind, the handling is kind of funky/heavy, it slows down your car. You want to avoid that. How, you may ask? Simple - Hooks.
I would describe Twilight Drive as a top-down arcade time trial game. It has unique driving mechanics - encouraging you to 'grapple' round corners and actively avoid steering (which slows you down). The game leads you into these mechanics gently (and gradually adds more as you go through the generous number of levels), and I found it pretty easy to get started with. Quite often I could 'pass' a level with a bronze medal on my first try, but I soon realised how much nuance there is to perfecting each level - it takes a lot of retries to get better, sometimes trying to perfect the timing of slingshotting yourself round a corner with the hooks, other times trying to master drifting - inevitably leading to a lot of crashes! Rather than racing against opponents, you are racing to beat yourself, earn medals and beat your friends, with 'ghost cars' (which brought back fond memories of classic rally games). I find it surprisingly addictive, quite often going back for 'one more go' to get that next medal - and the level unlocking requirements sometimes encourage this replaying to get enough medals to unlock the next level. It has a great retro indie feel, with lovely chilled out electronic background music.
