Monster Truck Destruction

Monster Truck Destruction

Had this game on my I-phone for a while, Always enjoyed it there, was a good time killer when such is needed. Saw it was now avalible on PC, so I decided to give a go, despite the negative review’s, at 4.99 I figured it wouldn’t be a big loss if it was atrocious. The PC version is…A little different and takes some getting used to. The control physics seem to be a little improved over the Mobile version of this game. The truck’s don’t roll over as easily as they do in the mobile version.

This game can be frusturatingly challanging at times, due in part to the A.I. which flucuate’s from being professional badass’s who set record time’s around the track (Almost unfairly it seems at times) to being complete moron’s who couldn’t navigate their way out of a wet paper bag.

This is a review for anyone that wants info on the game without the “DEVS SUCK” or “This Game Sucks” short review. The game is decent but it will not be for everybody. Most trucks are based off of the Bigfoot family of trucks with USA 1 and Bear Foot included. No Gravedigger or Max D for you Monster Jam fans.

The physics are decent enough for a game that started out as a mobile game. You will not do a multi back flip or anything unrealistic. You can do a back flip but you have to have enough HP on your truck to pull one off.

Wreckfest

Wreckfest Sets itself apart with its unique damage models/ driving realism and wonderful free updates. If you want something different from the other driving games this is the one. Warning don’t come into this game expecting it to handle like Forza or Need For Speed as it doesn’t emulate those on a rail driving mechanics you’ll have to learn best lines through practice and get used to the different cars and vehicles available but if that doesn’t deter you this game will be a pleasant change from the basic driving games out there.

CRASH EFFECTS Inc.

CRASH EFFECTS Inc.

Founded in 2012, Crash Effects Inc. has specialized in helping vehicle manufactures design and test the vehicles of tomorrow! Now it’s your turn to take the seat of a Vehicle Crash Test Engineer and design the safe rides of tomorrow!

Build It!

Build your design from the wheels up sparing no detail untouched in the design dome. Meet the specifications required by the manufacturer’s mission or build your own crazy creations. With no details left to spare, everything from the type of vehicle frame used to the paint color of the tailgate is up to you! With over 150+ vehicle parts and many more to come the possibilities are endless!

Stage It!

Prepare for impact! Well not just yet. As an official Crash Test Engineer you will need to set the stage for your momentous event. Configure the crash floor with a variety of cement barriers, blockades, barrels and a few other wacky items. Maneuver the 750 ton portable barrier into its final resting position. Aim the high speed cameras placed throughout the facility to ensure every angle of impact is captured. There’s even a tunnel that can be moved into one of five possible angles of attack!

Load Em Up!

In the vehicle bay, configure the vehicle selections for impact. Place five different types of crash test equipment on your crash test subjects. To buckle or not to buckle is up to you, with four unique crash test dummies. You choose when and where our friend “Steve” the dummy gets seated. You can even bring his whole family along for the ride too!

5.4.3.2.1!

Right then, Let it rip! Flip the switch to engage the cinematic stage lighting. Press the start button and send your creations hurtling down the crash test halls at speeds over 60 MPH or 100 KPH! Let the carnage unfold at your own pace: in slow motion or high speed. Watch as the glass breaks, metal crumples, airbags deploy, and vehicle parts fly!

Grab the Data!

Once the lights come back on, it’s time to collect the critical impact data. Use the Measurement Master M2000 to record changes to your creation’s shape after the crash. Download the onboard crash data from the Data Logger and Crash Test Dummies to determine if your occupants survived. Finally compile your results and see how your vehicle creation’s ratings match up. Only then, will you see whether or not you have what it takes to be a Crash Effects Inc. Crash Test Engineer!

Happy Crash Testing!

I didn’t expect this to be good. It is not. A student university project. It probably got an A, but you wouldn’t even play it for free.

FlatOut 4: Total Insanity

FlatOut 4: Total Insanity

Right at the start, I will say I like this game, however there are many things which upset me and things that could’ve been done better or differently:

1. Cars have horrible handling and physics.

Even the slightest bumps can make the car flip, spin or shoot into the air. So this makes the driving experience far from smooth and enjoyable, because I have to think how I go over the smallest bumps. It takes away that satisfying feeling of ramming through everything that breaks. And this is with all cars. It doesn’t matter if you drive a sports car or a huge truck, both can flip easily. And I don’t like this…

I have been waiting out for this game, because it had received (when looking at the Steam reviews) a bunch of backlash ranging from inept game mechanics, poor optimisation and bugs.

Now yesterday we wanted to play Flat Out 2, our number 1 party game on the lan party we are at and found the current networking setup do not support the features needed for lan play and because Game Spy is dead for a long time, there is no way here for us to play it.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Flat Out 4 (or Fl4t Out as they try to brand it) costs only a ~11 euro. So I dived in, and was pleasantly surprised.

FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage

This game is literally FlatOut 2 remake.

the game have all FlatOut 2 maps and car, but the difference between this and flatout 2 is :

-the online still work on this game (but you will need to install game for windows live and a patch to make the game run)

-in solo mode, you play versus 11 NPC instead of 7

-You have some extra cars

-You have 2 or 3 extra games modes

-The games have some improved graphics, but to be honnest I liked the graphic of flatout 2 equally

-The NPC AI is a little different than flatout 2 (I think In solo mode in flatout 2 all the npc target you)

I’ve played the retail of this game, the not retail, the steam release on another account and a few times on this account..

So.. What is Flatout UC and what makes it tick?

Basically, an upgraded Flatout 2 with some chievs and stuff. But saying that isn’t helping much so lets just do a list of pros and cons. Cons first.

Cons:

  • uses GFWL

  • that glitch with rubbish on the road that normally should just bump from the car but that one critical time impales your car thru the middle and makes it vault into the air when you could have got that new lap record or won a hard race.

FlatOut

One of my top favorite vehicular combat racing games, and for damn good reasons. Also, one of the first games I ever remember playing, back when this came and I was 8 years old.

Pros:

  • Graphics have aged well. Sure, there’s no realtime shadows or reflections, etc..but still all in all not terrible graphics for 2004.

  • Great sound design. Crash sounds, both obstacle and car collision, are good and really add to the satisfaction of impacts. And the cars' engine sounds are really roaring and crisp.

A lot of people seem to be writing nostalgia reviews (to the point where “nostalgia” is not only the main theme, but also the only noun present in the whole review). So here’s a newcomer’s take for a change.

Flatout is many things, but firstly and foremostly it’s a racing game. You buy a car, you race AI opponents, get money to buy upgrades, or better cars. Complimenting that you have various ridiculous - but apparently quite iconic - events, which range from demolition derby to a variant of darts where you crash your car into a solid obstacle at speed to hurl yourself through the windshield and onto a gigantic net which serves as the dartboard.

Crashday Redline Edition

Crashday Redline Edition

I’ve been reading the negative reviews. After over 1000 hours of playing Crashday, I can give you an honest review, and I will be either confirming, or busting some of the “weak points” mentioned in these negative comments.

“The cars feel like they are driving on ice.”

Not really, only if you take offroad wheels on tarmac, or sport wheels on dirt. If you want to see what driving on ice is like, there’s probably a mod for that.

“The camera is low and so close to the car that you can’t even see where you’re going”

INTRO

The legend is not only back, it’s improved!

THE GOOD AND THE BAD

  • Multiplayer is super fun when you find players to play with

  • Improved graphics and user interface

  • 12 new Redline tracks with unique design (MUCH better than the original tracks)

  • Original soundtrack and gameplay that keeps the authentic feel of the original game

  • Variety of game modes

  • Track editor is still present

  • Daytime can now be chosen without having to use the default daytime used for the specific map
