StressOut

I’m writing this review after completing the game a few times. I’m playing StressOut on my Quest 2 thrugh VirtualDesktop on Steam with my 1080ti graphics card and I didn’t see any performance issues so far. The game runs smooth.

From a design perspective game is an smash up playground and I think it’s meant to relax and intrigue with unique mechanics. Even tho the game is in Early Access, I enjoyed fun mechanics like object manipulation that resembles a bit of Portal 2 and Garry’s gravity gun. It’s sooo satisfying wrecking havoc in VR.

Break stuff and get rewarded for it in VR. Time constraints force toy to exert yourself quick as you absorb and shoot objects from your hand when you’re not just picking stuff up to smash other stuff

Cross And Crush

Cross And Crush

Updated 26/1/21

Since I last reviewed, game has been fixed, with that aside, the game still becomes a grind to play within minutes. To unlock all the characters is a sheer headache as the game does not reward you very well with coins, and the achievements of needing to get one thousand, five thousand and 10 thousand coins is just tedious. Achievements like this, NEVER enrich your experience with a game. They just make you despise it and get angry (cross) and will make you want to smack the developers head in (crush).

In this game you use A and D to tell your animal which way to go as the vehicle it is pulling destroys stuff in a lame way and you’re being chased by cops. Somehow Tap By Tap managed to make destroying a city and killing cops boring. I wouldn’t even recommend this if they paid you €2.

Build the hotel of your dreams! You’ll welcome guests from all over the world. Use your starting cash to rebuild and furnish as many rooms as possible.

Create a place that smacks the golden age, a new exclusive hotel. As you go through the next stages of the game, you’ll design rooms, decorate the rest of the hotel and invest in new amenities. Get that 5-star review!

KEY FEATURES

Tear it down and build it back up

Tear down that old wallpaper and pull up the panel flooring, bust through walls, and put new ones up wherever you want. It’s up to you how you want to design the layout: one-person rooms, two-person rooms, or even bigger. Each decision will influence who comes to your hotel.

Furnish the rooms

Buy furniture or restore old pieces. Choose from a wide variety. Watch out for discount pricing that can save you a ton of money. Decorate the rooms in your style. The higher standard you maintain, the more money you can earn. Remember that you need to clean up after your guests and repair any damages to the rooms.

Invest

Invest in the amenities and attractions at your hotel. Raise the standards and become the best hotelier in town. Buy an old swimming pool or restaurant in order to attract more guests! Make sure you get 5-star reviews from each of them.

Read reviews

Each of your guests can leave a review. If you don’t clean up the rooms or don’t make repairs to damage left behind, then your guests will leave bad reviews. If you can make a great impression, you’ll get 5-star reviews and you can expect to have more customers too. Remember that each of your guests can turn out to be a secret critic.

Just Cause 4 Reloaded

Just Cause 4 Reloaded

Just Cause 4 is the video game equivalent of Junk food. It’s fun in small doses but after a while everything feels like a chore. I know looking for plot in Just Cause is like watching a porno for the character development but the story is really bland , the villain generic and the entire game is bogged down by an ungodly amount of mini events that genuinly becomes a chore after a few hours. That said flying around the world using the jet-powered wingsuit is still fun. Also two of the DLCs (Los Demonios and Danger Rising ) are pretty fun.

Got this at 90% off. It’s a cash-grab sequel to a game series that reached its natural narrative conclusion, but for $15 I’ll pick it up, sure. Basically Just Cause 3: Another One.

Regenesis Arcade Lite

Regenesis Arcade Lite

This is a game that on the surface looks like a moderately generic wave shooter, however, peel that surface back and you find out that its actually a pretty darn well done generic wave shooter. Its fun, not too difficult and is going to be one of my go-to for introducing other gamers to VR specifically because it is a lightweight and simple shooting arcade.

PROS

  • Great for VR introduction / tutorial

  • Light and simple, zero story so far but has a promising intro

  • Good graphics and a variety of weapons / dual wielding

For a free game, this isn’t bad. Whatever you do DO NOT BUY THE DELUXE VERSION. I had fun with the lite version and recommend a download, but the controls for the Deluxe version make the Deluxe version unplayable.

I never had problems with the controls in the lite version (played over an hour, multiple play sessions), however, in the Deluxe version, my weapons kept randomly switching to shields and my sheilds kept randomly switching to weapons. This makes the game unplayable.

Siege Saga

Siege Saga

It started out decently, but turned out to be one of the worst games I’ve ever played. The physics are inconsistent from one play to the next, the ropes appear to do nothing at all (you attach them taught, and they immediately develop a ton of slack as soon as you click the play button), wood beams immediately fall over (will not stand upright and will not lean against each other in a triangle form). Add to that the fact that control (placement and movement of the building pieces) is absolutely terrible; you’ll spend a lot of time fighting with the pieces to get them placed where you want them.

This is an insanely fun puzzle game that really does play like a reverse angry birds. Come up with a contraption that protects the king (and the king’s followers) using as few building blocks as possible. It doesn’t have to be pretty, it just needs to last until the level ends.

Love it. Bought it back in 2016/2017 and had a really fun time. Even nowadays I come back to play it. Rn I try to get all Achievments because I like the game so much. Yeah, it also has it flaws like strange physics and Crash The Bomb Missions are really a pain in the arse. But it´s so fun to take out the outposts, free cities and a most of the challenges are also fun imo. And i don´t even want to start with the DLCs. So great. Bavarium Wingsuit so you can move around more freely and be a human attack helicopter, the boat with really strong guns and a cool look, Mechs for more fun on land. And the stories of the DLCs are maybe not the best. But they have their own charm and fit well in the story I guess. 20€ or 3€ for the next few days, it´s a really good deal

Atmosphere and style of play, referring to the once successful pair of NFS Underground titles. When racing under the cover of darkness, a carefree arcade and a love of tuning in the realm of dense guys appear.

It’s a pity that under the cover of night racing, the Ghost Games have failed to turn the virtual city of Ventura Bay into a truly vibrant metropolis. It is more like a ghost town, because its inhabitants are only police officers and young road pirates, who supply you with tasks and rewards for their successful performance.

One of the most immersive street racers out there. I’d say it’s aged quite well.

Though there’s good reason why fans of the franchise are divided on this game, some hating it with a fervor while others laud it as one of the best.

I’ll list the Good, the Bad, and the Debatable in the review below.

Let’s start on a positive note.

===================================

The Atmosphere

Despite the nigh-photorealistic quality, it runs surprisingly well on my GTX 1050 Ti and Intel i5-8400 on max settings.

! (Though I have a mod that disables some unnecessary post-processing features which certainly improves performance) The way all the lighting, effects, animations and sounds are done though, that’s what makes NFS 2016 truly magnificent.
