ABC Paint

ABC Paint

ABC Paint is a simple Multiplayer VR drawing experience that anyone can start using in seconds. Randomized funny heads for players. Draw on your friends' head or paint them a stick figure body. The non-violent nature and ease of use makes the game suitable for even the youngest of players as their first step into VR.

The game takes inspiration from real life painting scenarios, presenting the player with a paint brush in one hand and the painter’s palette in the other.

All interactions are strictly touch-based, the only controller buttons to press are the trigger and the touchpad.

Verto Studio VR

Verto Studio VR

Best modelling tool I’ve used in VR so far!! I can’t wait to see what it grows into. I’ll be using this as my go-to tool while I wait!

BRILLIANT! Loving it so far! I’d compare it to Google Block’s bigger, bolder, better looking older brother :D

so i just spent 1 hour with verto studio in desktop mode after owning it, and being intimidated by it, for about two weeks. figured i’d dip my toes in the water on the desktop mode so that i could see how this software was different than what i’m used to in blender. i had previously read through the help manual, but to be honest, i forgot all of it before i opened verto studio again this evening. i generally like to freestyle because i figure if an app is intuitive enough, i should be able to just pick it up and go, being of (debatably, lol) average intelligence.

Dry Erase: Infinite VR Whiteboard

Dry Erase: Infinite VR Whiteboard

I use Dry Erase for maths work. Using this program to derive maths, whilst listening to music, is almost zen like. It’s amazingly calming and strangely fulfilling.

For my professional work, its proved useful for a few technical meetings, checking derivations and discussing engineering issues. The interface is simple, but its incredible useful being able to scroll for ever and use different colour pens to highlight different things. Shame its not multiplayer, but I guess we can’t have everything.

Review of Dry Erase: Infinite VR Whiteboard

============================================

First and foremost, this is worth the money at its current state regardless of any following critiques. If you are in need of a whiteboard VR app that lets you focus free of distractions, this is the one for you. I have used it already to create videos explaining complex topics I deal with professionally, and I see several hundreds/thousands of hours more. I’m not going to get into the technical bits of the app itself (at least not too much). Let’s focus on how this helps someone like me who is easily distracted, a visual person, and someone who needs the proper environment to conceptualize and communicate complex abstract ideas.

Vermillion

Vermillion

TL;DR- If you like Art and have a VR Headset get it!

I managed to sneak into Beta for this pre release and I have nothing but good things to say.

Vermillion is a fantastic and relaxing VR Art experience. This is oil painting in VR at its best and without the mess! If you are into Art at all; in any capacity, you will feel right at home with Vermillion. You can expect to spend anywhere from 45 minutes to a dozen hours on a finished painting, or more. How much creativity you put down on the canvas is up to you.

Wow. Just Wow. I’ve never used a VR app which so accurately captured what it FEELS like to create art in front of you. Apps like Tilt Brush and it’s ilk are great for making 3D art, but none of them quite capture the feeling of creating something real as well as Vermillion does, in my opinion. Great job on this one Thomas, I’m excited to see what improvements you have planned.

I don’t consider myself artist by any stretch of the term (I’m an engineer), but honestly, Vermillion has become a nightly ritual for me, spending 30-60 minutes every night before bed just meditating and creating something on the canvas.

Very promising program. The author often updates it, which is important. There are tools for modeling and texturing. As a result, you can export both model and texture to game engines.

Thanks to the developer for the diligence!

This is the most efficient and full-fledged poly-modeling tool I’ve been able to find to use in VR. It’s great and helped me a lot with retopology. I’m glad I’ve bought this, much appreciate work done by autor of this software, but still hope there will be two tools added during future updates: “bridge tool” to build poly between two selected edges and “cap hole” tool to create surface in place of enclosed edge loop.

Let’s Create! Pottery VR

Let’s Create! Pottery VR

I love to be able to play and create just for the pleasure of it. I have had this app on my phone and tablet for years and still come back for low key, relaxing fun.

More than worth what I’ve paid for it, and I would pay for the option of a more involved game.

My only problem is that you can’t opt out of a commission. I’ve gotten to a request that doesn’t seem possible, and I’m tired of looking at it while I create

This game is exactly the vr experience I’ve hoped for. Chill, creative, and just a little challenging. I’m already looking forward to an absurd amount of hours on this.

I’d love if there was a way to turn off music without turning off all sound, but it’s not a huge issue so far.

Very useful app for development, creation, ideation and creative expression. Finally feel like I found the app that works with my brain to explain my thoughts and ideas quickly and more effectively than paper.

Great user tools like snaping, precise movement, copy and paste. The basics are great but it also has SUCH a good UI that it makes the user experience very pleasing.

One of the few VR creative apps that has a save button too. Which is reassuring because while it’s a great app there are some crashes that occur but the app recovery and saving means you won’t lose much work if you are diligent like in any other project based software you use.

This is my go to first port of call for spatial design as a full time VR Designer, when I am working out the fundamentals.

It will spark new ideas, make you test your asssumptions in situ and I can’t imagine life without it anymore. Being able to grab stuff from poly lets you work up a high fidelity version of what you’re making right off the bat in most cases, avoiding the need to really model much from scratch.

The Major downside, the one that will prevent widespread industry adoption until it’s fixed is that you can’t really export stuff reliably. I can’t think of a situation where I won’t be using a mixture of elements from Poly and things I’ve made myself, and you can only export the models right now as the Google poly colors don’t export. This doesn’t make it very good for getting buy in on your ideas or giving somebody a flavor of the end result by delivering a worked up concept. you obviously also can’t communicate much of your visual design without color either.

Red Bull Doodle Art - Global VR Gallery

Really quite novel, I must say, esepcially for 2017. I quess this is Tiltbrush creations that are curated by the Redbull people. It’s got quite the grand selector environment and you live up in the sky space in a utopia. Enough about this very good VR art experience, it’s time we had a chat about Red Bull.

! Red Bull is a scam. You can tell it’s a scam, because everyone is trying to steal it. It’s sugar water, with caffeine, just like all the others, but they have to send a representative to each store to handle the product and keep it under lock and key. I drank a redbull once, the smallest one I could find, and it cost almost 3 dollars. After I drank it, I’ll I could think about was getting more redbull, theres something going on here. https://youtu.be/fLUSAIuLKZE
