Draw IT!

Draw IT!

You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/aALb7xq1NHU

So this is a drawing game that has two different modes. The main mode is your physics puzzler where you draw lines or place blocks to guide the ball through the obstacle course. You have an incentive to draw as few lines as possible to reach a higher score for the leaderboards. The second mode is just a sandbox mode where you can draw.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this game because of several issues. One of the biggest issues is the lack of content. There are only 9 levels, which I beat in less than 30 minutes. The second major issue are the poor interactions. You guide the ball through the obstacle course using a virtual joystick that is unwieldy to use. Every interaction in this game is poor and the game just lacks overall polish. It’s also ugly to look at.

Very interesting concept! I would love to see more out of this game going forward. After playing through a few levels, I found the game very relaxing and soothing.

Floating Girl

Floating Girl

Easy Little Shmup

First off, this game IS safe for work…depending on who your boss is. The unlockable artwork contains no naughty bits or suggestive themes, so…those game tags were big fat lies.

In fact, given how simple this shoot ‘em up is, Floating Girl is practically safe for children. In other words, it will NOT tax your gamer skillz, but should be just about right for a 5-year-old. I kinda hoped the difficulty would increase with each level, but it did not.

Extremely slow “bullet hell” arcade game. As you destroy the little spaceships an ecchi image of a girl slowly lowers.

-There is no sexual-content/nudity

-There is no patch I could find to fix that

-The does not offer anything that another game does better already

It’s so barren that there isn’t even much to write about it. Very simplistic.

藏梦:序曲

藏梦:序曲

A lovely free game set in Ancient China with sokoban puzzles and a bit of nifty platforming. A delightful environment with zen settings as you search for relics whose history are very interesting. The richness of the Chinese culture and history are very prevalent in this short prologue and are enchanting to see.

As you travel up the Maiji mountain as Princess Wencheng, you encounter a fierce wind which causes difficulty in platforming and it is challenging to reach some relics. This game requires you to use strategy, skill and lots of patience to activate the temple!

This game has interesting and fresh game mechanics. Defiantely not something you see everyday.

The artstyle is quite distinctive as well. The game itself is not that long, but has some space for digging.

For this price it is definately worth looking at.

And yes, you can get your whole village drunk, so 10/10 bananas!

This game is so sweet! You need to choose which people to invite to your town, and see how they interact with each other. There are different ways of developing your town because of that. This idea is very interesting!

Selma and the Wisp

Selma and the Wisp

This came up to me with such a potential but I was finally disappointed. The only great thing in the game is the art work. As a plot, it doesn’t have one (it’s more like a very bad copy of limbo), you just wonder to some places with your ball and try to avoid things such as fire, electricity and animals in order to proceed further. The riddles are really poor and boring (no thinking required, just picking up a random thing and placing it somewhere or exploding something that blocks your way). The gameplay had a really big potential (the ball and the girl connected) but it was not implemented well (you can’t control your character 100% and you have a timer for the ball). The absence of logic/complexity in riddles and the moving difficulty in some parts combined with the low controlability of your character, makes the game really boring at its one half and really annoying at the other half respectively. As a result, I was looking forward to completing it in order to proceed to the next game. Overall, great idea of the double character, great art work but very poor implementation and plot.

SHORT REVIEW

Rating - 5.5/10. In Selma and the Wisp you play as a ball of light that leads a little girl through several levels of dangerous situations in a nightmare world. It’s akin to platforming by dragging someone tied to you by a rope and hoping they make it all the way through the pitfalls. This can be good and bad, but overall it’s a fast play-through if you feel like giving it a go.

PROS

  • Art direction with polygons has a good presentation and eerie background

  • A good combination of abilities to vary the game-play

Heavenly Bodies

Heavenly Bodies

Great game! I just wanted to test it a little but I coudn’t stop playing. I played on single player for 4h the 4 first levels in Newtonian mode, which makes it much more difficult to move around, and very dangerous when outside the ship. The gamefeel is very nice, the levels are great and different (the Mineral mission was amazing) and the challenges are good and original. Newtonian mode can be frustrating (I keep grabbing the tether on my hip instead of what I actually want to grab) but the classic mode is pretty easy, is like swiming on the air. If you like games like QWOP, Getting Over It or Octodad you will like Heavenly Bodies, is way less frustrating than those. Great job and congrats to the devs!

This is an incredible game alone and with friends. When i played with my friend we spent hours arguing, helping eachother out and celebrating the small victories. When i played alone i got completely immersed, it was a fieling i haven’t felt before. Just look out cause you will completely lose track of time and hours turn into minutes. Also, one last tip, you can play Co-Op with friends through Parsec. All-in-all a great game

-KLAUS- : I’m addicted to this story now

Klaus is the first game by La Costa studios depicting Klaus who tries to find who he is and why he’s here. With first time releases always come hiccups so has La Costa managed this and made an instant banger first try? In my opinion yes, incredibly so! While it’s not perfect it’s done a remarkable job. Either read the full review or just take a quick look below.

Klaus

Overview

Klaus is an endearing and unusual puzzle/platformer that has just the right amount of difficulty to reward you for your efforts. It’s bursting with charm and boasts an unusual story telling system. The plot unfolds through a series of small and often humorous one-line sentences displayed within the game play area. Whilst a lot of these statements are jokes and flippant remarks, they also slowly reveal the story behind Klaus and his search for the truth behind his origins.
