CopperCube 5 Game Engine
Lets be clear, Coppercube is intended to be simple and easy to use. This is a software for non programers, or those like me who prefer to focus on art and design, rather than typing tons of code. For this Coppercube is the best out there. Porting between PC, MacOS, WebGl, Android, and flash is near seamless. Most of the time its as simple as clicking the publish to option. There are tons of behaviors and actions to mix and match to do most things you will need, and their is a Javascript API if you want even more control. I’ve used quite a few game engines over the years (Multimedia Fusion, Gamemaker, 3DRad, Jamagic, Gamesalad) and none were as easy and fast to develop 3D applications than Coppercube.

I have been playing around with CopperCube the past couple of weeks and I have fallen in love. 1 being that it is easy to get something simple up and running but also the option and simplistic coding. I start messing with the action and coding behaviors and find it to be quite easy when following their tutorial (but I am coding savvy). Graphic wise it isn’t Unity but I am not out to make a AAA game either.
I am running this on my Surface 3 so anyone who comes across my review I would say it runs smoothly on it and isn’t a resource hog which is a huge plus to me.

Puppet Play 🎬
You have the idea, we have everything else!
Puppet Play aims to make animating as easy as possible by utilizing the possibilities of VR headsets. In traditional animation tools, animating is done by manipulating gizmos on a 2D screen. In Puppet Play everything is animated by recording your movement in real-time. This not only makes animating easy but also super fast. No matter the prior experience, if you have a cool idea for a movie you can turn it into reality in a few minutes (depending on your idea it might take a bit longer)!
Grab an object → press record → move it around & repeat!
Additional tools like motion capture, remote control & auto walk support the process. Use your headset to record live audio and once everything is complete, export and share your creation in a standard video format (mp4).
A huge collection of different characters (not only puppets), props and environments are ready for you to use! All things animatable are separated into 3 categories:
Puppets: Characters with Full-Body-Inverse-Kinematic rigs for fast animations
Props: Large objects to build & decorate your set with.
Items: Small objects that can also be attached to the puppets, like weapon, hair & hats.
You are in your own movie studio with many different sets that can be further customized with props. They range from traditional puppet theatres to fully-fledged 3D scenes for your next epic cinematic trailer!
A puppet on a stick or a full 3D character with individually animatable limbs: Choose what fits your vision & time scope. Short on time but still want to tell a story? Choose puppets on a stick! Got a bit more time on your hand and want to go into detail? Then choose a fully animatable humanoid character!
It’s designed for VR, there is no place for 2D UIs! All interactions are physical and integrated into the movie/puppet studio world. Or to say it in cool UX design terms: It’s a fully diegetic UI!
Once your animation is complete, you can export and share it as a standard video file (mp4). You have all rights to upload and monetize anything you make with our tool!
Puppet Play is being developed by a team of freshly graduated students from Hochschule Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. Puppet Play started as a semester project in the study “Animation and Game” at the campus.

Qubicle Voxel Editor
(disclaimer: i was a beta tester for the tool, but this does not change my views on the tool, simply justifies the hours logged)
Qubicle is without a doubt the most flexible and well equiped voxel editor available online. On steam i have around 200 hours (at the time of this review) but i’ve put in about 10k offline (been using the tool for 3 years now).
The best feature is being able to make multiple models in a single scene, or divide parts of a model to later animate in external tools like Blender or Maya. (this is a must for game developers such as myself)

This review is based on the Basic Edition of Qubicle with the Mesh and Utility modules.
PROS
-
A great set of drawing and matrix manipulation tools. I don’t believe it’s missing anything of importance.
-
Supports the definition of pivot points on per-matrix basis, which is really helpful when exporting large scenes and tends to be missing from most similar software.
-
Probably the most comprehensive export options on the market for both meshes and textures.
-
As far as development software goes, it’s a relatively cheap one.

SolidFace Parametric CAD Modeler 2D/3D
Audience?
The audience is probably engineering, construction management, and drafting degree students that like to game. In those type of degrees, a significant mistake on a draft can result in a large profit loss.
Expensive?
It was the first drafting software available on Steam. Much of the prices on the more professional software available through Steam are kind of smokey, if you know what I mean. For example, Maya, Modo, and Substance Designer/Painter all have modified licenses for use and some are less capable. This is the full version of SolidFace with full licensing, with the catch being drive locked. The opensource options for drafting are BRL-CAD, OpenSCAD, FreeCAD, and LibreCAD. The opensource options, except for BRL-CAD, are very young compared to SolidFace.

Sprite Lamp
Great program for creating depth maps, ao maps, etc. I am using this to develop a game with Unity. Very easy to integrate. The concept for creating the artwork takes a little while to get used to, But i find it only takes a little more time for me to make my game assets. My simple artwork looks very cool with dynamic light applied!

A neat program that generates normal maps (and other maps too) for 2d sprites from lighting maps. If you have a lot of time and patience this program can produce some incredible results. I would not recommend this software to those who are just beginners, but for users with some experience this program can be a game changer.

Strata Spaces VR
This Tool is Bullshit. The sale is bordered by fraud!
Strata inStudio VR is free and offered the same. Apart from that, the tool is useless, because you can not create anything professional with it.

Verto Studio VR
Best modelling tool I’ve used in VR so far!! I can’t wait to see what it grows into. I’ll be using this as my go-to tool while I wait!
– Real player with 17.8 hrs in game
BRILLIANT! Loving it so far! I’d compare it to Google Block’s bigger, bolder, better looking older brother :D
so i just spent 1 hour with verto studio in desktop mode after owning it, and being intimidated by it, for about two weeks. figured i’d dip my toes in the water on the desktop mode so that i could see how this software was different than what i’m used to in blender. i had previously read through the help manual, but to be honest, i forgot all of it before i opened verto studio again this evening. i generally like to freestyle because i figure if an app is intuitive enough, i should be able to just pick it up and go, being of (debatably, lol) average intelligence.

Artstage
Very promising program. The author often updates it, which is important. There are tools for modeling and texturing. As a result, you can export both model and texture to game engines.
Thanks to the developer for the diligence!

This is the most efficient and full-fledged poly-modeling tool I’ve been able to find to use in VR. It’s great and helped me a lot with retopology. I’m glad I’ve bought this, much appreciate work done by autor of this software, but still hope there will be two tools added during future updates: “bridge tool” to build poly between two selected edges and “cap hole” tool to create surface in place of enclosed edge loop.

Clip maker
This is a GEM. A Diamond in its own right!!!
Do you like Visual Novel? You can create all your scene with this program! Characters have hundreds of POSES to choose from already made to make it easier for you OR, you could do CLIPS (MOVIES) that you can use to do a VN that have ANIMATIONS IN SPECIAL SCENES YOU WANT! The possibilities are endless!
But please, please do not believe people negative reviews that were done a long time ago! On many front, this game is way better than it was before! The many different videos really help out understanding how everything works TOGETHER NOW!!!

I will recomend overall ^^ although I’m having problems importing vroid models, the developer is really nice and I spoke to them myself, the issue is getting looked at and hopefuly getting fixed soon, I overall recomend this game, the nagivation might seem overwelming, but once you get your head arund it its quite easy t figure out, I like the features of this software, finally, found quite an easy 3D animation software that accepts vroid models, I can finally make vetter vtuber videos!
