Hell Review

Published by Slitherine, its no surprise that Hell is a highly addictive turn-based strategy game that offers challenging gameplay for even the most battle-tested tacticians among us. Still, the game manages to offer an inviting platform for beginners, complete with a helpful tutorial and an in-depth game manual. Moreover, it is a “skirmish” style of strategic warfare, meaning that the game skips the often tedious and mind-boggling affairs found in grand strategy games and thrusts players right into the action. By doing so, the game is easier for newcomers to the genre to catch on and since combat is the central focal point, more effort and development has been put into the tactical aspect of it and the results are impressive.

Story is cliche, and text certainly has its share of spelling errors, but it seemed simple to play and a fun way to pass time. Art is decent (kind of like Warcraft, cartoonish), and relatively easy to figure out. A manual would have been nice, but most nowadays don’t provide more than the basics anyway, certainly little in the way of tactics or strategy. Didn’t find a manual for this game, but didn’t find one, just tutorials. A couple other points: Your units gain experience and level up…but that doesn’t seem to carry over from one battle to another (you have to start from scratch each battle). Also, in the later battles you’re able to choose some of the units you can bring in with you, but your choice is quite limited. For example, in some battles you get longbowmen, but others only crossbowmen. Or if you get longbowmen, you can only take two perhaps. I’m guessing this is the way the game designers ensure the game stayed balanced.

One of the best TD games I played for sure!

It’s easy going, it has elements I’ve never seen in any other TD game (like the genius alliances), gives the game a whole new meaning and fun, I also love the upgrades in and out of the levels, the whole theme is fun, the characters (towers) and their looks are awesome, I simply love it.

Hope you guys are planning to keep updating the game with more towers, powers ups and such!

Exorcised is a newly released Tower Defense game.

The game is set in a Japanese fantasy world, with many versions of Japanese females clothed in cultural Japanese style as the towers, and with demons as the enemies, no story or known plot in the game, so lets move on.

The game is pretty straight forward, like many other Tower Defense games, the enemy move on a fixed path from one side to the other and you, as the player, need to place those sexy female towers to eliminate them.

There are several kinds of towers, each with somewhat different stats and characteristics which could be upgraded later on, and some different enemy types and bosses.

Master of Magic Classic

Master of Magic Classic

The best game of my life came to Steam.

I’ve been playing Master of Magic since it first came out in ‘94. I was in middle school back then, I think my dad mail ordered the game for me and my brother as a gift. I played it over and over. I played it even after I got the Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, PS 2, 3, 4, signed up for WoW classic, BC, FT, got the Elder Scrolls series, and until last year, after I learned about the Caster of Magic mod.

I’ll just say that it fundamentally changed my life. I’ve developed a strong preference for fantasy themed games, novels and even board games and strategy games. I’ve read many fantasy novels and light novels, even wrote some, and went on to play fantasy-themed RPG’s and simulations like HOMM series and Baldur’s Gate series. But still, even after literally 25 years of challenge, Master of Magic is still the best game ever for me.

Unfortunately there have been severe changes to the base game. I will detail the changes I think are not in keeping with the spirit of the original game.

  1. Very little reward from claiming towers etc. Now all you get is mainly mana, money and some rubbish item.

  2. The AI can see everything and exploits that advantage whereas the player has to actually scout the terrain. The AI uses its unfair sight advantage to hunt down your units that it couldn’t possibly be able to see if it wasn’t cheating.

Western Sigil

Western Sigil

Western Sigil is a tower defense game in which you take on the role of the sheriff’s son, tasked with maintaining peace in the town of Wadeville. Idyll will not last too long since a dangerous plague has broken into the city walls and your mission is to find its source and stop the rot from spreading.

NOTHING UNITES HUMANS LIKE A COMMON ENEMY

Recruit cowboys, Indians, National Guard soldiers, Mexicans or even bandits - everyone, regardless of their political views, wants the end of the ugly plague.

Or Do they?

BE SMART

Strategically deploy your forces on the map and set up turrets. Hire new members and gain experience to develop your units. Throw away their rusty guns and gear them up with new weapons to make your team even more powerful. Set ambushes to weaken your foes and find out who’s the cause of the overwhelming havoc.

APPROACH BEASTS OF ALL POSSIBLE LEGENDS AND TALES

Fight orcs, demons, skeletons, goblins, trolls, forest creatures and even animals like wolves or bears. The variety of monsters you will encounter in-game is a good material for a separate bestiary book, a weird one, that is.

FEELS LIKE A MAGIC

The task is made difficult by the fact that there was some kind of strange magic involved in all this. To remove the unfortunate spell, you must find all the mysterious sigils and close the portal leading to another dimension, the very home of awful creatures disrupting the peace in Wadeville.

FEATURES:

  • Protect your lands in this unique tower defense & resource management game sprinkled with a spicy pinch of strategy.

  • Get in the ranks with cowboys, Indians, soldiers, local Mexicans or bandits.

  • Distribute the units on the map properly - their location determines their strength.

  • Hire new members to boost your performance on the battlefield.

  • Gain experience and develop your units by equipping them with new, shiny weapons.

  • Set ambushes and place standard and premium turrets to protect every single acre of Wadeville.

Squeaky Clean

This game is really good. It has a basic UI with easy to get used to game play helped with initial level tutorial texts. The controls are responsive and fluid, making the challenge of this title about you and what you are doing or not doing in some cases.

For the jump scares, it does the job well. While playing, a constant feeling of dread is present, an uncomfortable unease that won’t go away. While cleaning up, it is always random if you are pestered to near insanity or practically left alone, both of which only add to that unease you feel, keeping you anxious. This I personally feel when far into any Day of any Victim and my eyes fall onto the number of what I am finishing up on for wash area. Seeing 53 of 100 you would think would make you feel awesome that you are near done, but it really just adds more stress to your brain as you start thinking you will get really harassed by the baddies during that last time.

Tried this out for a spoopy stream and it didn’t disappoint! Carrion Wave was nice enough to provide me with a code to try it out and, IMO, I’d say it’s worth the $4.99! It’s a bite-sized game that should run you about 2 hours according to the devs, but RNGesus is never on my side when it comes to horror games of this variety, so i’m clocking in nearly 5 hours on it (that, and I got into a debate with my stream about how long one should take to bathe and wash their hair LOL). I’ve played the FNAF games, so this is definitely right up my alley! I’d say give it a go if you’re a fan of FNAF-esque games, give this a shot!

It’s true, I like anime……………………. tho my story didn’t start like any other I was plopped into existence not knowing my purpose? what was I made for? who was my inventor and what did they design me for? questions but no one to answer them. a deafening murmur which only felt like static keeping my question company. the silence was only but a cold and bitter reminder that one day, ill become a flying anime pillow who sores throughout the starts delivering steaming cold cocoa. …………………….its true this game is pretty cool you should buy it :)

some decent digital junk food. it’s pretty much infectinator in vr and fer $6 rounding up it’s worth it for some time wasting. edit got to the a rank levels and i got some bugbears

1. turret target prioritisation is bad. like trying to shoot unarmed civs halfway across the map while someone is stabbing them in the face kinda bad also don’t lead shots making them miss long range targets.

2.when enemies hit zero health they don’t die right away and linger for a second or 3 and they keep attacking during that delay not so bad in early game when is just cops but it’s annoying late game when they start throwing high dps enemies at you like the sword men

Fun game with interesting mechanics. It reminds me of Robotron but with the roles reversed. In this game you’re the one trying to eliminate all the humans with your arsenal of minions. It starts off easy but also like Robotron it allows for progression over many levels.
