Ticket
Don’t let the initial presentation fool you - this is an incredibly creative 2D platformer with unique visuals and an outstanding soundtrack. My first playthrough, I constantly found myself saying “the next level couldn’t get any weirder than this” only for the game to do just that.
The only caveat is that some levels are a bit obtuse and frustrating to figure out without a guide - but that’s something you can find easily enough.

Ticket is the product that challenges your preconceived notions of what games are about. It is certain that the so-called seriously taken game reviewers would not be able to give acclaim to this game, as it does not follow the conventional rules of high quality game design. This tells about the sad state of gaming industry rather than about Ticket though. If you are the person who thinks that good games follow strict rulesets of certain design-economic and mathematically measured criteria and are usually some sports titles followed by a running year number or the latest installment of a well-established series, then Ticket might not be for you.

PUSS!
after a long time i finaly beat this game and trust me it is harder than it looks, i think this game diserves a lot more attention that it is getting.
its sad because its really just luck if these sort of inde games become popular. There are lots of inde horror games like this that get huge amounts of attention on youtube because one youtuber plays a game, then fans recommend that game to other youtubers who play it, then even more youtubers play that game because they saw someone else play the game and they think it would make for a good video, it crates a domino affect of popularity. Im not saying this is a bad thing but it sort of means that you just have to get a little bit lucky. it means that a lot of games that are really good like this one will not be as popular because they are not picked up and advertised by youtube gamers. Let me give an example, recently a game by the name of baldi’s basics in education and learning was picked up and played by youtubers and became very popular though a big wave of popular gaming youtubers playing it. You my or my not have herd of it but a LOT of youtubers played it. Others may disagree but I don’t think it was a very good game, it was ok, but it didn’t bring anything new to the table, it wasn’t very well scary and the gameplay was very RNG based and not really entertaining. You may disagree but they only reason it gained popularity was because one youtuber played it and others followed suit.

Awesome Vaporwave/Glitch art aesthetics wasted on an ungodly abomination of game design. It is truly baffling how one could screw up such a simple idea. Your goal is to move your cursor around a labyrinth without colliding with (often moving and dynamic) geometry, you know, like in the internet classic Scary Maze (the game actually has a level referencing it, so bonus points for that). The levels themselves are absolutely amazing, each one of them is a separate work of Vaporwave art, accompanied by equally sweet soundtrack (composed out of truly bizarre samples, just like Vaporwave should be). Everything moves, glitches out, the mazes suddenly change in shape, and there are a lot of gimmicks to spice things up.

Agony
Kickstarter supporter here. No spoilers in the review!
Phew, it’s a long wait between the moment you decide to support a crowd founded project, and the date when it’s finally out. Agony was founded 2016 November 14th, so it took 1 year and 6 months for it to release 2018 May 29th.
I’ve completed the game for the first time yesterday, it took me ~9 hours to go through the campaign.
Strengths:
Art / Environments
The design of the various landscapes in hell is both detailed and unique. It’s a simple concept to have an underworld, with some skulls and lava, but Agony went deeper then that with many layers of environmental styles. Just a bit of surreal touch the likes H.R. Giger dreamed up on a colorful spectrum and dreamy atmosphere. They went the extra mile to distinguish the major areas with their own unique flavor. Perhaps, there are good news for those waiting on ‘hell freezing over’ after all…

Short Version
I am actually quite mixed on this game.
Whilst the setting, mood, etc. are very unique and well done, there are a lot of bugs and glitches left in the game.
So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and recommend this game, hoping they’ll fix these.
Long Version
The setting is just done perfectly. You always feel the discomfort of being in a place, that you really don’t want to be.
Whilst the story is … tbh I really don’t know. You’re told that everyone is somehow drawn to the Red Godess and at least for me they managed to pull that off. Although you read in a lot of memos, that she’s literally the worst hell has got, I really wanted to get to her. But other than that, there’s a bit more of motivation later, but that really is it.

Ritual: Crown of Horns
Summary: While Ritual may be in need of some quality of life improvements in certain areas, its fast-paced action-packed and strategic gameplay mixed with a metal soundtrack and varied weapons and abilities, create a difficult yet fun and engaging take on the Wild West. 8/10

Plot:
The writing is not a case of being a masterpiece but they certainly do the job, creating engagement and intrigue throughout. The characters bounce off each other reasonably well, with them often questioning each other or even outright annoying or teasing one another. It is unfortunate however that one doesn’t get nearly as much dialogue like that of the others, but regardless character design works. There is no mistaking the plot plays second to the gameplay in Ritual, never the less for those who are looking for a decent story in amongst all the carnage, there is an interesting one to be found here.

When it comes to top-down shooters, nothing beats tangling it up with hordes of monsters and all you have a six-shooter and pure luck. These are the kind of games that are exciting, fast-paced, and 100% rage-inducing. Ritual: Crown of Horns, from small indie studio Draw Distance, checks all the boxes.
Stylistically, this is a nice looking game. The art style heightens the grim landscape that we find our protagonist, Daniel Goodchild in. The music, a bold mix of heavy raw guitar and western-inspired melodies, only adds to the chaos that we’re about to dive into. Unfortunately, those two important elements are sometimes not enough to ease the frustrating aiming system and the unnecessarily hard stages you must clear.

STATIK
STATIK is a 4 player online co-op horror game. A group of kids in the 1980’s find an abandoned house with a shelf full of VHS tapes. When each tape is played, the events of the movie start to play out in real life. Will you escape with your lives or become another victim of the static. You can choose your ending by finding the maps secrets or defeating the killer.
Each level has multiple different endings and many easter eggs to find. No playthrough will ever be the same with the killer always making different decisions and items being spawned randomly.
STORY
In the boring town of Belleville, most summer days are spent by the lake swimming or biking around town. One day, you and your friends discover an old abandoned house in the woods. It’s a tall house, furniture and interior untouched like the owners just vanished and left it trapped in time. Inside, the beige wallpaper is decaying and peeling off. When you get to the living room, there is a big tv set on top of a vhs player. Next to the tv you find a shelf containing Vhs tapes with no label or name. You call your friends over to play the tape, thinking nothing of it…
GAMEPLAY
In STATIK, each VHS tape is a different horror movie that plays out in the old house. You will be hiding from the killer while he tries to hunt you down and send you into the static. Find clues on how to send the killer into the static or find clues on how to escape throughout the map. The closer you get to escaping or if you’re brave enough to face the killer, he will get smarter and he will be able to hear you better. Be stealthy and quiet or you will be sent into the STATIK.
- Co-Op Game
When playing a Co-Op game, stick together to solve the mysteries of the house and help each other by using a medkit to get a player out of the STATIK.
- Single Player Game
If you’re brave enough to play alone, you cannot get yourself out of the STATIK and have to solve puzzles by yourself. It’s possible but significantly harder.
