Potatominator: The Judgement Day

ENGLISH review and / i POLSKA recenzja

First thing: Do NoT expect too much from this game.

Second one: Do NoT expect SO little as the begining can really give…

This game is a mix of nonesence, deep characters and real-life couching. The begining is not bad - it is very bad and still I don’t know how I managed to go through first half of the game?!? But then it went more interesting and I slipped like potato on butter (cause I was affraid to be deeply fryed either).

First of all, when I started playing this game I expected it to be some crappy sh*t about a potato misunderstood for a criminal. Things went from stupid to serious very quickly, I crapped my pants every time that Potato *sshole jumpscared me. Everything begins in a very strange manner: you start in a dark room, you explore a hallway, encounter the Potato Man once, suddenly get jumpscared by him and then you’re thrown in a cutscene about a Bounty Hunter (father of the year) and his Robot Son (???????), and well… that still doesn’t explain the beginning of the game until you get jumpscared like 5 more times and complete some minigames.

YEAH! This is what VR is perfect for!

Be on a Virtual stage, in the limelight, shout into the microphone, get cheered on or boo’d at, sing along to your favorite songs, destroy a styropor guitar, dance til you drop, make peace signs, join random people in their session to cheer them on or blind them with laser pointers or just get emotional with a rose microphone and much more - Yes, Im having a lot of fun playing this, and I havent even seen all aspects of the game yet.

Its just a very nice feeling to get affirmative response from time to time, some kind words, even if its just from NPCs who are generically shouting how awesome I am.

I really enjoyed this - I’m terrified of getting up in front of large groups of people, so the virtual experience of flailing (vocally, and sometimes physically) in front of a digital crowd was an interesting experience.. especially the parts where I get hit in the face by a digitised bottle of wee (the laser pointers gave me flashbacks to classes in highschool).

If you’re looking for a fun, slightly silly, rather unique experience, where you get to be the center of attention for hundreds to thousands of people (whether they’re angry at, or cheering for you), and perhaps want to improve your “how to dodge the occasional thing thrown at me” skills, I’d heartily recommend this.

Bloody Glimpse

Bloody Glimpse

A decent arcade style survival game where you have to fight and kill a range of real and mythical creatures.

The aim of the game is try and survive against waves of enemies as well as kill bosses but honestly, the main reason for why 99% of people buy this game is because its cheap, always goes on sale as well as can be found in a range on bundles which also go just as cheap. Not only this, it is filled with 1512 achievements.

Despite being an achievement based game that doesn’t take away from the fun that I had while playing… there is something weirdly enjoyable about running around shooting oversized creatures and watching them explode

“Bloody Glimpse will take you on a immersive journey through bloody and dark world, the one that you always dreamed of”.

No.

As dozens of other games by these developers, this game employs exactly the same graphics, user interface and so on of Dinosaur Hunt, Machine Hunt, Dinosaur Forest etc. - basically, all these games are the same one with slightly different maps, weapons and enemies.

The game itself is just a boring first person shooter, with the usual survival and campaign modes that will bring you nowhere.

It’s nice to play a game that doesn’t hand everything to you on a plate. In an age of ultra-high budget productions I’m reminded that sometimes simplicity can produce a compelling game. Some talented individuals with a story to tell, maybe a few puzzles and jump scares along the way make a surprisingly compelling game. Because of the whole horror retro vibe of the game this is definitely one to play with headphones. I have to admit that I took a while to complete this, probably because I’m not that great at puzzle games. I have to admit there were periods of frustration when I was stuck on a few puzzles but to me that makes it all the sweeter when you finally figure it out. Don’t get me wrong, the game isn’t without its flaws. The low-res aesthetic certainly won’t appeal to everyone. Sometimes it feels like the difficulty of the puzzles can suddenly jump without much of a ramp up to them. I think an optional hint mode as an option within each puzzle could help. Checkpoints need to be more evenly spaced as I had to play for a good 30 minutes before I hit my first one. For what the game is, when it was floated on the steam store I thought it was a little expensive. But hey what are Steam sales for! All in all this game is a great reminder that you don’t necessarily need a multi-million pound budget and photo realistic graphics to make a compelling story that’s enjoyable (if a little scary) to play through. Now I just need to complete play throughs with all the other characters XD.

Yes, I’m aware of the ALL CAPS game this title is similar to.

Are there games out there like Rogue?

Yes, a lot. That is why “Rogue-like” is now a genre.

Am I going to make a federal case out of inspiration?

No, no I am not.

What I will do is say that this game is awesome. It sets up its own unsettling folklore-themed flavor, presented in classic retro-PC style, with some pretty clever puzzles. There are multiple characters, and multiple endings depending on what you do and/or the order you do things in.

Conjurer Andy’s Repeatable Dungeon

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

This game is 100% like a Free to Play Mobile game. It certainly was made for that audience and still is Pay to Play. Screenshots do not SHOW how the game really is and they do not mention anything of that on the store page. This is certainly NOT a deckbuilder. You can chose 3(!) cards for a run. 3! The “fights” consist of simply clicking on a wheel of fortune. Either all your characters hit the enemie or they don’t. That’s as much strategy as their is involved. You just get rewards if you don’t die and leave the dungeon. Even then all your used cards expire. What does this mean? There is a timer, like in most free to play games which tells you how long you have to wait til you can use these cards again. For gold you can skip that. If you die in a dungeon, you don’t get gold.
