Dark Grim Mariupolis

Dark Grim Mariupolis

Dark Grim Mariupolis creates a point and click adventure branch of it’s own with it’s interesting theme and dialogue. Aside from the mythology, mysticismm, and pseudo-dystopian society world you can easily found yourself wrapped up in interest as you control the footsteps of Thor in this crime noir adventure. Aside from the two color simple yet elegant art style and intriguing story line this game really excels with excellent sound design. The pattering of the rain combined with the calm yet unsettling smooth background music sets the tone as you are playing a pseudo-detective role.

Its a pretty simple point & click adventure at the first glance

but then its so much more

best described as a piece of art.

And even to the gameplay doesn’t feel smooth at times I just fell in love with the dystopian feel, the references to mythology and the noir athmosphere.

Blood Moon: The Last Stand

Crim’s Humble Opinion Curator

This is a simple but difficult hybrid clicker / wave fighter game. What you see on the store page is essentially what you get. You can move left and right and you click to attack your opponents. If they are within melee range you will attack them with a slash, otherwise you will shoot them. You don’t have to worry about reloading, but you do have to decide who to attack first and which direction to be facing; because you can only attack in the direction you are facing. You have three hits and have a special bar that goes up as you defeat enemies. With that special bar you can choose to heal one health or do massive damage on one enemy. Enemies will come at you from multiple directions and sometimes you have to throw up a shield to avoid damage from a projectile.

Cold Silence

Cold Silence

So, Cold Silence is a beautiful platformer game with great mood and original gameplay features. On the other hand I have a feeling that this game is not polished well. The main disadvantage is a lack of checkpoints within the dangerous open game world to explore, what makes the game longer and somehow quite boring. You can also find here the beginning areas with a lot of aid packs without them in the second part of the game map. The radio would not speak with you a lot at the end as well. In additional, some achievements do not work well. But if you will be able to go through that, you will find quite smart game that is work sometimes as a puzzle and can give u a lot of positive emotions when you finally figure how to solve it. Such experience with this game in addition to the quite original gameplay and intresting boss fights allow me to recommend it to play.

Not a bad game. I can tell that dev put a lot of effort into it, but it’s one of the most frustrating ‘platformers’ I ever played (intentionally). One of those experiences that are designed to kill you just to make a joke, I am talking like constant beginner traps, confusing navigation, and difficult platforming - not by mistake. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s just really annoying. You may have noticed a huge number of achievements that are attached to things like deaths, makes for a good achievement hunting game, I guess. The sad thing is, it’s one of the more creative games that I played recently and it has some funky mechanics, so the difficulty even on low settings can be an obstacle. I am actually really excited to explore it, and at the same time, I just don’t want to play it due to ******* checkpoints. If I dare to say this, some people might like this as an experimental exploration game (reminds me of Zzzz-Zzzz-Zzzz a lot). However, I think that I would enjoy the game a lot more if it was a bit more friendly and focused on exploration instead of subverting my expectations by intentionally killing me. Not a bad game, not for everyone though. If I would fix one thing - make more checkpoints between the chapters, I don’t want to climb mount Everest each time I misjudge a distance.

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia

Textorcist pairs typing with typical “bullet hell” mechanics, resulting in a game that is, if nothing else, quite unique. You play an exorcist named Ray who uncovers a demonic conspiracy rooted in the church. Over the course of approx. 10 boss fights, you’ll battle increasingly difficult opponents by hammering out words on your keyboard while simultaneously avoiding projectiles. This results in a real challenge for people who aren’t good at multi-tasking…particularly for those who try to move with one hand and simultaneously type with the other.

The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia:

What is absolutely amazing about the human race is that while we are united in sharing life under the influence of one major element – gravity - we somehow manage to impose three of our own influences that divide us as a race. To me, these three common scourges are flags, politics and religion. They are the three main elements that we humans are always fighting against each other for. In terms of religion, scholars are still debating who wrote the first bible! However, there is one thing that really happened in the 90’s in the Vatican; a demonic outbreak ravished the holy state and a former priest, named Bibbia, Ray Bibbia, came to the rescue. You are about to enter the sensational and wordy (including Latin) journey of The Textorcist: The Story of Ray Bibbia.

## Castle of no Escape

I bought this game to support the dev because I thought CoNE2 was really great, and the developer was active and continues to fix bugs and upgrade the game.

I know what the developer was trying to achieve in this game. I never played Leygreff's Castle but the developer has elsewhere said his design choices were based around honoring that game. What I have played a lot of in my youth, and as recently as two weeks ago is a game called Telengard. And this game bears many resemblances to Telengard and games of that era.

THE GAME

Explore the mysterious castle full of monsters and secrets in a quest to collect all the treasures (that will also protect you from the curses on your way) and crush the main boss. The game won't let you exit the castle, no matter how you try. Technically you can win, but there is no end.

CONTROLS

Press Enter to start the game

Press 1, 2 or 3 to select a hero

Strength, Intelligence and Dexterity at the hero selection screen are the maximal values which that hero can get. Strength is both for life and attack power, intelligence is both for mana and spell power. Dexterity affects your attack and defence accuracy.

## Devileader

A fun, frantic and sometimes frustrating spiritual successor to Sinistar, Devileader delivers that classic arcade fun in spades. I never really got into the 'original' a whole lot, but this game has a few more interesting elements that give the game a good depth and the difficulty setting is a nice addition that keeps things approachable and adaptable, especially for people like me who are not already experts at this game format. I would definitely recommend giving this game a try if you're at all a fan of the original arcade shooters or fast-paced arcade action in general.

Hijong Park delivers again. This time with Devileader (Sinistar on crack).

So yes, Sinistar… but this time re-imagined with 4 difficulty levels, much larger enemy variety, interesting weapon variety, and online scoreboards. First off before gameplay begins you are given a choice of one of a handful of superweapons to equip on your ship. These are very powerful and will be used sparingly as they require mining crystals to recharge. They are great for getting you out of tough spots or clearing out a path to hit the devileader with devibombs. Careful though as some will also completely wipe out asteroids and mined cystals which have yet to be collected. Next, your primary laser has a secondary rapid fire mode that clears enemies at a much faster rate. On the flip side it heats up quickly requiring a cooldown time after prolonged use. These two core weapon changes alone already make the frantic gameplay in Devileader much more interesting than in the original arcade classic. Now lets add in a larger ever growing enemy and hazard variety as you progress further into the game and you are looking at a truly great arcade experience. Last but not least, there is a lone drop ship that enters the play area every so often to drop either more powerful ammo limited weapons or time limited items such as shields or cloaks. Be sure to check your map periodically for the drop ship as it can be easy to miss the computerized voice alerting you to its presence in the heat of action.
