Furry Shakespeare: Emperor Penguin Lear

Furry Shakespeare: Emperor Penguin Lear

You were just invited to partake in Elsinore Academy’s summer theater program! But then there was that horrible accident during the production of Cymbeline, and now you’re sort of a ghost. Emphasis on sort of. Everyone still thinks that you’re alive, to the point of maybe dating you, and you’ve even signed up for the latest play, King Lear, written by Girl Werewolf Hamlet.

Look, it’s a whole thing, okay?

Haunted by your past, you must make this the best play ever! Influence the main faculty, make friends and defeat enemies, and just have the best summer theater experience that a ghost actor has ever had!

Each segment of the game feeds into the next: your schooling during the day will affect the play during the night. As an incorporeal (somewhat) being, you have the ability to change how the play goes, and therefore how it is received by the general public. Your friendships and rivalries will spill out on to the stage, you’ll chart each actors progress and teach them new skills, and you might even alter King Lear forever! A drama might become a comedy, a comedy might become a drama!

Features

  • Use your ghost powers to manipulate every aspect of the production of King Lear.

  • Interact with a host of students.

  • Date five people. Not all at once.

  • Solve the mystery of your own murder!

TL;DR: Recommended ONLY when on sale, maybe around 30% off or more. It doesn’t worth it in full price.

Pros:

  • Cute girls.

  • Good moving image H-scenes.

  • Good optimization unlike other H-game on steam that use Unity as the game engine. I often found H-game that use Unity will gobble up your cpu to 100%, but not with this game.

Cons:

  • The SLG part are very lacking, mainly you will use your money to cook the menu then use the remaining money to increase the stats of the girls, increase your manager level, and customize your cafe in that order. You don’t really need to put much thought to play the SLG part which is the main point of the game and this is a problem.

I’ll play any time management game… Except maybe for resource one, but this one isn’t it… Anyway! Beach time! First of all, this game doesn’t have resize screen options… I think it was made for a tablet? But it works well on PC.

It starts off slow… So you learn the ropes, etc… There is a time period where you will feel zen like spacing out… UNTIL you get your license! More products? Everything picks up! That’s where the fun began. I managed to get everything unlocked… So proud…

Little Lives

Little Lives

If you’ve played Life Quest 2: Metropoville, you will see some similarities with this game but it adds some additional features that are pretty charming. The driving system is goofy and enjoyable in small doses. The little quests your friends send you on are at times endearing and others aggravating (just like real life, lol!) As others have said, content is slim right now but the product as it is now was worth the price for me, a huge life sim fan.

I do wish the dev made a way to cancel the “drive to” animation (other than hitting escape and pausing the game), as sometimes I click a place and then decide I want to do something else. Also an “arrival time” estimate would be great when clicking-to-drive. Additionally, being able to check job requirements without travelling to the employment centre would make life easier!

So this is really an adorable, simple and easy game. I liked that there was a driving aspect to the game, which I don’t normally enjoy in sim/management games. The driving didn’t feel as touchy or sensitive as normal driving games, but the biggest portion I enjoyed was being able to press space and allow the game to drive to locations for me when the cuteness of the driving wore off (again, not normally a fan of driving aspects in games). The game itself is really straight forward and a bit too easy. You have to eat, sleep, rest and socialize. Getting a job is the major aspect of this game and it’s quite easy to move up financially (don’t need to get a bank loan at all). I was able to get 2 full adult degrees plus over $10k in about 6 hours. So “beating” the game doesn’t take very long. It would be nice if they added more things to do or balanced out the stats a bit to make it a slight challenge.

This is the first time I’ve played a Korean VN. What a breath of fresh air! Absolutely lovely artwork, engaging story, & character detail. I spent a good 20+ hours playing & replaying it (I can see someone finishing it casually in 6-8 hours) & is definitely worth the time for those who are interested in soft core visual novels with a casual light touch of gameplay mechanics. I would personally love to see more to this VN in the form of DLCs about all the characters.

I didn’t see as much detail in the other characters that Philia’s route had & would love for that to be explored upon. It would also have been nice to see Steam Achievements. But that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment you can get out of this VN. I will definitely replay it again.

“Miracle snack shop = Visual Novel + Tycoon + Dating Sim” (by Nyanco Curator )

*Review

Miracle Snack Shop is a visual novel type tycoon game. It’s a new game from TalesShop with fresh attempts. But tycoon parts in this game are not enough compared to other simulation games. Moreover, the UI is somewhat complicated and not intuitive. Nevertheless, the visual novel aspect of this game is quite good. Basically, the characters voice is supported, and the translation quality is also decent. In addition, the story plot is very interesting and humorous. Especially, the heroine, Queen Salt is so lovely!

Questr

Questr

I found QUESTR to be very entertaining. It is not much as a game, but what it lacks in gaming substance it makes up in content.

You start by inviting people to join your quest party. Many of the people lie on their profiles and some characters hate your other members so much that they quit right away.

Every quest has multiple events in which you need to select one characters idea how to solve them. For example you encounter a vampire. Will you send a) the Vegan to talk to him about being vegan b) the drunk to talk about drinking c) or the bro who says he got this as he had to watch vampire movies with his ex. Results might not be what you expect.

Questr is an RPG parody of dating apps similar to Tinder.

In a similar fashion, you swipe left and right to build the perfect RPG team. Every potential party member has likes and dislikes, levels, costs to hire, and personality traits as well as their own class, guild, and ancestry.

Personality traits determine the outcome of encounters throughout each quest. Beating an encounter raises morale, while failing lowers it. Party members also interact with one another between encounters, further raising or lowering morale depending on how well personality types get along and whether or not you paid attention to likes and dislikes. At the end of a quest, the morale level determines if you successfully complete it, giving you a reward and the possibility of having party members continue to quest with you.

Sunrider Academy

Sunrider Academy

**TL:DR

Play the main Sunrider series first then buy this game. Claim your waifu and show her your Vanguard Cannon.**

The Steam release is CENSORED but you can easily install the official restoration patch from the Sunrider website to view the girls in all their naked glory the way God intended. Now with the most important part out of the way, on to the other stuff.

Made by the same developer that made the excellent Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius, Sunrider Academy takes those memorable characters and transplants them into a standard Japanese style school setting as a dating sim/time management/visual novel game. You play as Kayto Shields, Vice-President of the student council, and are tasked with making sure the three “trouble school clubs” are whipped into shape. At the same time, you must also manage your duties as a school student and keep up with homework, exams, and finding a girlfriend before the end of the year otherwise it’s BAD END!

Real player with 62.8 hrs in game

First of all: I haven’t played Sunrider: Mask of Arcadius. I think the game functions well as a standalone management dating sim, however I believe there are some things you’ll only appreciate if you’ve played the main game.

Pros

  • You can download a restore patch from the developer’s site. This is essential.

  • Art is pretty cute. The backgrounds are beautiful as well.

  • Protagonist’s sister is a hoot and a half.

  • Five difficulty settings, you can choose just how much you want to be challenged.
