Fate/EXTELLA

I think Extella is the worst entry in the Extraverse series due to how it just shits on any base material.
The story starts semi-ok, the ending from Extra got retconned, but that’s fine and can be forgiven. You start with following Nero, which isn’t too bad.
But then comes the kicker, suddenly Tamamo is also there, and she recognizes you as her Master, she mentions that she was your sub-party Servant (Suddenly you had 2 Servants in Fate/Extra?) And just seems to be even more clingy than before, but that can be somewhat forgiven due to her personality being like that.

Fate Extella is a hack and slash musou game, where you get to use characters from the Fate universe. Each characters have their own stories, where 3 of the stories covers the main storyline for the entire game. Objective in this game is very simple; capture enough areas (call sectors here) so that the balance of power falls onto your side (which is termed in-game as ‘completing the Regalia matrix’, and then face the boss. Sometimes you will start with facing the boss right off the bat. There are some variation here and there, but generally, you will win if you beat the boss.

Killer is Dead - Nightmare Edition
Don’t mind the almost 150 hours I have logged in this game. I’m just a dumb completionist who usually wants to finish most things in the game, specially achievements.
That being said, I’m fairly confident that I’ve played this game enough to say for certain that I wouldn’t recommend it, with the exception of it being on a good sale. This game is simply not worth full price.
Before Killer is Dead I didn’t know much about Suda51’s work. I read about killer7 but never played it. I do own it on Steam though. It seems to be much better than KiD, just from what I saw on the store page. But anyway, KiD apparently has much of Suda’s pure style. And it is a lot of style indeed, but this game doesn’t care to go much beyond excessive style.

Shining Resonance Refrain
Shining Resonance Refrain is a JRPG remastered version of the Japanese exclusive “Shining Resonance”. The story plot revolves around the main protagonist Yuma Ilvern, a teenager who holds the power of the Shining Dragon, who ventures off on a journey with his fellow comrades to stop the Empire from utilising and abusing the ancient dragon’s power to achieve their selfish goals.
The game’s story plot is a bit cliche, where you have the main protagonist who progresses throughout the game, learning about the “bad guys” and their goals, gathering and helping strangers who later becomes your comrade that shares a common goal to defeat evil. Character development for the main protagonist is well written, as the more you progress through the game, the more you learn about Yuma’s “Shining Dragon” powers and how he acquired them. On the other hand, character development for the other playable protagonist is a bit subtle in the main story, however you do get to know them better throughout conversations and chats in side-quests, dates and skits.

Jokes aside, I am a big fan of the shining series from the sega genesis days and this is my first shining game since Shining Force II, I went in not expecting this newer one to be anywhere close to the older ones, because chances are it won’t and that’s probably why I was able to have fun with it.

I absolutely love the game
I have been playing it since it was in test version and have seen the growth and changes of the game over the time. My current playtime on record is far below the actuall one since i played it a lot offline aswell as on the test version which isnt included in the record and should be overall 80 hours of playtime at the point of writing the review.
So lets start by who would like the game?
If you like roguelike games, anime monster waifus, slashing enemys and fighting bosses, a game with a great learning curve (its likely the first runs gona feel unfair), anime art style, if you like or dont mind playing early acces games , games with devs showing interest and passion for the game,
