I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator

This game, in a mere 100 hours, has taken everything from me…

I have sacrificed everything I know and love, just to look at that colonel smile.

My wife left me with full custody of the kids. My parents no longer talk to me. Im a mere month away from being

Evicted by my landlord. Ive stopped working, just to play this game. This game has ruined my life, but still, I love it. That sweet sweet colonel. The story is Immersive, and a roller coaster of emotions to play through. Ever since helen left me, this has been the one thing that I still find love in. This game shields me from the cold that is this planet. More importantly, the colonel protects me from the world. The sweet colonel. I never needed helen. All I need is right here, flexing his big muscles, making his next exquisite dish, and being the man I always craved.

With stage 5 terminal cancer, the doctors told me it couldn’t be cured. I seen this game come up on my recommended list. I thought to myself “With only hours left to live, I might as well spend my time doing something I enjoy” Starting the game I was filled with immediate joy. The characters were absolutely lovable. The story line has the depth that can only be rivalled by very few AAA titles out there. Every click left me guessing “What’s going to happen next?” and “Will I get to try another one of the Colonels chicken wings of pure ecstasy?” Before I knew it, I was in the kitchen, cooking with the Colonel, helping him create Nan’s potato and gravy. It was absolute bliss!

the game wasn’t very funny, the only thing that made me come back was the stupid dialogue and how everything didn’t make sense. the humor was very dumb and stupid so i enjoyed it. i would get it a 7/10 to be honest.

My Dream Sport Dating Simulator

My Dream Sport Dating Simulator

Stop that! It’s silly!

What the hell was this? Sport dating… as in dating sports… After dating pigeons, cats, bunnies, monsters… eh, why not? It could be fun, I thought. It could be wacky, I thought. Well, it was wacky alright, so forcefully wacky that it wasn’t much fun at all. My Dream Sport Dating Simulator is a comedy game, but my god, I don’t think I laughed once.

You’re a sport(!) and you enroll the school for sports to become the next big thing. Then you meet others and hilarity ensues :| That’s it. That’s the story. Except, I didn’t find it very hilarious. Oh, and this is supposedly a dating sim. Well, there’s no dating either. There are 7 characters you can interact with and they will react positively or not to your choices (so like ‘love points’ in a dating sim), but ‘routes’ are extremely short. To get one ending for a character takes 20-30 minutes. The ‘dating’ consists of random jokes, some references and a lot of 4th wall breaking. You also get one mini game per route of varying annoyingness. Actually I loved the 80s training montage and the library one.

Princess Evangile All Ages Version

Princess Evangile All Ages Version

“It feels a little weird having a girl trampling on me…”

“I could trample on your face if you wanted to feel even weirder.”

Princess Evangile can best be described as your typical slice of life galge with added drama scattered throughout the plot. It is divided into two parts, with the common route having you getting to know all the girls, while the second part is mainly about getting closer to the girl of your choice. Nothing out of the ordinary here. However, despite the fact that the plot is fairly bland and straightforward, it achieves what it set out to do and manages to stay interesting most of the time.

Real player with 56.7 hrs in game

Princess Evangile is honestly one of the strongest VN’s out there. Whilst it doesn’t do anything particularly new, or revolutionary, it does a fantastic job on what it does do. The game itself is split into 26 Chapters, which makes one full playthrough take around 40 hours give or take. I have finished one route in the original, and am in the process of doing another in the Sequel (w/ Happiness).

Now, as someone already has mentioned, if this game appeals to you, pick up the 18+ edition from Manga Gamer directly. I feel that the game itself benefits a lot more from it. w/ Happiness includes the common route for this game, but it doesn’t include the actual routes for any of the four heroines in this game. If you are looking to play this, I highly recommend picking both the original and the sequel, and then playing through w/ Happiness’s common route. It means you can skip a lot of the game to get directly to the route you want, as with Happiness includes 9 routes instead of this versions 4.

Sakura Forest Girls

This game is super cute! Highly recommend for visual novel lover and anime lovers alike, you can feel the work they put into the many backgrounds and character positions to constantly be moving, which makes it feel like i’m watching an anime! The story is very rich and entertaining with the balance of cute and dark. Thank you a lot for working so hard on this game Winged Cloud, keep up the good work! (personally waiting on Sakura Beach 3).

Spring Flower

Spring Flower

Spring Flower is a “template flip”, that is to say, it’s a “game” that has been produced by copying a game template or using a game construction kit, and changing a few things. In this case it was a game construction kit/template for doing a simple jigsaw puzzle with less than a handful of low res images of Manga art girls. The developer here has done this over a dozen times now:

  • Sweet Halloween

  • My Sweet Ants

  • Mystical Lights

  • Cute Girls Love Books

  • Otaku Club

Tokyo School Life

Tokyo School Life

Go Go Nippon: Take 2, and no half-assing it this time. That’s the feeling I got from this game.

Among the practically nonexistent Japanese-made West-oriented kind of visual novels, this one is unmatched. But even if you know enough about Japan or simply don’t care, you may find it interesting as it has enough to offer to stand on its own feet as a proper visual novel.

But first let me talk about one of the key features of Tokyo School Life, that being the Japanese learning component. It is several steps ahead of Go Go Nippon which simply featured a second text box in a really tiny font where you’d ruin your eyes reading kanji. There was no furigana either. Now you can choose to set the main and auxiliary text boxes (the latter appears in a corner of the screen, can be disabled) to display the language you want, be it English, straight-up Japanese or Japanese written in all hiragana/romaji (don’t do this, seriously). My only complaint here is that furigana is always enabled, it’s actually pretty distracting as your eyes tend to wander towards what they can easily read instead of the complex characters. From a learning perspective, it’s like trying to revise something with the cheat sheet in front of you.

EDIT 2018: I still reccomend TSL, however after a few years of VN experience I must add: be wary of poor writing, etc.

I bought this novel late at night because I had nothing better to do. I don’t particularly regret my decision, though.

Tokyo School Life is a Visual Novel of the bishoujo variety (It’s basically a dating sim where you choose between several dialogue lines and those affect the girl that falls in love with you).

If you’re here for Hentai, go play a shitty Sakura game. This is an all-ages VN.

Bistro Days

STORY

You are an aspiring food blogger in the city of Wisteria. One day, a giant raccoon guides you to Bellflower Bistro, where you meet three charming characters that will prove to be your life’s turning point.

What fate awaits you at the bistro? Will you answer to your true calling and become a food blogger that will make your mom proud? Are you able to help your romantic partner achieve their dreams? What choices will you make? Who will you date?

Bistro Days is an over-the-top Slice of Life romantic story where every choice matters, with multiple endings that lead you to a different romantic path.

The Characters

Rose is the manager of the bistro, having worked in similar establishments since she was in high school. Now with years of experience under her belt, she is an expert in all things food industry and has the confidence and leadership skills to boot.

Although friendly, she tends to hold everyone to a high standard. She sometimes comes into conflict with those who disagree with her, but she always forgives and moves on.

Lily only started working at the bistro a few months ago. She joined at a weird time, when the management and work conditions were beginning to reach an all-time low. Having been in the hospitality business for a long time, she tried her best to resolve the issues in the bistro on her own – but ultimately, she leaned on Rose for help when things got out of hand.

Iris is a new hire, joining shortly after Lily. Rose hired her because of her outgoing personality and how skilled Iris is at everything, especially latte art and drawing daily menu boards. As a general team member at the bistro, she balances the front-of-the-house tasks, as well as the social media page and signboards.

DATE A LIVE: Rio Reincarnation

DATE A LIVE: Rio Reincarnation

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation manages to fall a bit short in regards to story and characters (as is to be expected of a harem dating simulator with a single male protagonist), but the graphics more or less make up for it; they are absolutely stunning. With each scene having IMAX-level quality (and some pretty decent voice-acting), what Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation lacks in an original plot, it more than makes up in giving you a feast for the eyes.

The plot goes a bit all over the place, trying to mash together high school romance, epic sci-fi, and drama into a kind of Frankenstein’s monster of a game. It takes place in an alternate Earth where catastrophic events known as “spacequakes” can happen at random (and kill in extremely large numbers), the worst being 30 years before the story begins proper, which had a death toll in the hundreds of millions.

One of my favorite games to date!

Initial Comments

No pun intended with the title! It really is one of my favorite games!!

Date A Live is one of my favorite series, in both the anime and light novels, so when I heard this game announced I didn’t hesitate to pre-order the limited edition, and I can safely say, after nearly 60 hours from playing constantly. I have 100% this game with all achievements and I can safely say it is absolutely worth every penny.

Character

The game helped me learn more and get more attached to all the characters we know and love, Kurumi is still best girl! On the topic of characters, the new game only characters being Rinne, Rio, Maria, and Marina, were really well written characters and I enjoyed every moment with them on screen, they had amazing development across all games and made me want more of them in the books and anime!

Dungeon Dreams

Dungeon Dreams

I looked up Azure Dreams to see if maybe they made a sequel to it.

I ran across this. I’m sure many others looking that up came across this game.

I really enjoyed this game.

Though the 60+ hours played is obviously divided between 3 game plays (one for each class)

Through trying to do everything in one game I got to 42 hours, that was milking it.

Overall I found it very fun to play.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED Ratings 9/10 (Great Game Mechanics, Dungeon Crawler+ Dating Sim+Town Builder)

I have been playing RPG games my whole life, and this is one of the best RPG game that I’ve come across.

It’s a game developed by one person and fully funded by Kickstarter backers.

Here’s what is really great about this game. The most impressive feature is the great game mechanics and game design.

This game has 3 broad classes : Fighters, Scouts and Mages.

However, each of these classes have about 10 different sub-classes that you can play.
