Hunt: Showdown
I’ve held off writing a review for hunt mainly because I’m lazy and have had no motivation to do such a thing. But now that I get a shiny badge, well, here we go. However rest assured, I will strive to give this game the review it deserves.
Hunt is a PvEvP game, where a match is limited to 12 players sharing the simple goal of locating a bounty target banishing it and then extracting with the bounty. Matches can also either be single bounty or dual bounty. The bounty lair is found via clues located within compounds, each clue removes several compounds from the map until only one is left. Hunters must then deal with the boss located within the bounty compound by killing it and then banishing it. After the banish is complete a hunter can loot the bounty and then make their way to 1 of 3 extraction points on the map, whilst defending the bounty they hold from other hunters attempting the claim it as their own.

steep learning curve, watching someone else play helps tons, map knowledge you can only learn over time, weapons and their effective range and how to play around that, but great and friendly community, meaningful fps fights, and sh!t ton of weapons to choose from. games pretty glitchy ngl ie items falling through floors, objects no-cliping through walls, Desync issues you will 100% face, but kinda learn what you can jump on what you can’t, hit or miss Crytek servers, and sometime patches introduce bugs ie 1.7 but when it comes down to it the gunplay is extremely satisfying and when you or one of the boys clutches it makes up for all the bs

Prisoner
It is important to ask yourself first: what exactly do you expect from a game like this? Because you know how hard it is – to objectively analyse an indie game developed by one person that has no experience but needs an opportunity of sharing his work. Fortunately, Steam provides such opportunity, and that’s why we’re here. We’re choosing the lesser of two… hundred or even thousand evils. These games may be simple but yet enjoyable and with potential, If you’re looking with right perspective.
Steam Direct (Steam Greenlight until recently) has a lot of garbage and finding worthy games became nearly impossible. But this one is a good example. There is no plot, no puzzles, no battle or inventory system with further interaction with objects. The point is defined by challenge and replayability, which will test and improve your timing skills.

Many people have given this get a negative review, and while many of the things they say have merit, this is an indie game developed by one person. It does have some bugs, but from what I can tell there has been hard work to fix these issues. I got this game several months after it’s release, and I have had not had any bugs with it.
Is this game challenging? Yes. Is it very unforgiving? Yes. If you do not like incredibly challenging games, do not play Prisoner. However, as a fan of FTL, I absolutely love this game. It is a very fun platformer that teaches you to pay attention to your surroundings in a way most games do not. You always have to be paying attention to what traps are where, because while the maps are not randomly generated, there are around 20 of them or so, and every time you repeat a map, the traps will be in different places. If you die, you will start the game over. Some of the traps will take 2 or 3 health if you are not carful (you start with 4), and sometimes there will be no traps where it looks like there is one.

~FUN INTENSIFIES~
An enjoyable game, I really appreciate my run! Considering it’s the developer’s first game, I must say I’m really impressed. You can feel it was made with a lot of passion and a lot of reflexion to make it nice. There are a lot of secrets so don’t rush it and take your time to discover everything!
The world is truly immersive, I was really touched by the story and I liked discovering it all along the levels. The MC is incredibly LOVELY (he’s so cuuuute when he walks!! Even when he dies. Which sadly happens often with my pitiful skills).

Simple but enjoyable atmospheric platformer. Well constructed and fun to play through - can be completed quick if you’re good, but the puzzles are fun enough to keep you engaged.

Door in the Woods
Door in the Woods is actually a lot better than I was expecting it to be, and it is well worth full price.
The horror isn’t just skin-deep. Gameplay and game mechanics also adhere to the horror theme. The atmosphere is bleak and the monsters are dangerous. Mostly you will run and hide from them, but sometimes you get the weapons and equipment together to kill a few of them.
Each monster has different behaviors and abilities. Vampires won’t come into a house uninvited, and will instead lurk around outside whispering, “let me in.”. A cannibal’s house can usually be spotted by the blood soaked walls and floors, and they always carry guns.

A traditional rougelike with an interesting twist on the ASCII art. If I had to compare the game to others in the same genre it would be Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, Infra Arcana, and The Slimy Lichmummy. Outside of the direct genre Darkwood, Teleglitch, and Noct.
I’d played a previous version of this back in March of this year so it was already on my radar, but the full release just kind of came out of nowhere which was a pleasant surprise and instant purchase for me.
Pros:
- Captures the whole cosmic horror and sanity mechanic from Lovecraft and pen and paper Call of Cthulhu nicely

Necromancer’s Gift
Rescue your dog from a Necromancer that hates humans and find the meaning behind the title of this game. The Necromancer’s Gift.
Build your team
Build a team of 5 creatures out of 100 by capturing and evolving them as you get closer to the final battle with the Necromancer. Be careful. Death is permanent.
Battle
Battle your way through 1v1 battles where the abilities of alll your creatures influence the battle. Each creature can hold up to two items, and learn a variety of moves.
Plan Ahead
There are 5 floors, made out of a variety of rooms, like battle rooms, event rooms, and even shops. They are procedurally generated, and each floor has different floor abilities that modify the gameplay enough to keep it fresh. At the end of each floor, a floor leader awaits you.
Make the game your own. Customize how you want to play, what you want to encounter and try again. And again. And again.
Do not despair. You are not alone.

MOTHER
I have mixed feelings about that game— the story is, to be brutally honest, infantilely ridiculous. Moreover, the gameplay feels repetitive at some point and limited to traversing from point A to B.
Last 3 nights are a horrible choice of a game design— it is all the same, annoying process, throwed in the sake of forced “challenge” and, I presume, prolonging this short already digital story.
On the other hand, I adore the artistic touch applied in here. The cozy, yet tense atmosphere with consistency have been accomplished. The story looks interesting and it gave me subtle thrills in the first 3 nights.

After 3 hours I regret to say that I can not recommend this game.
The atmosphere of it is wonderful and the slow build up, the introduction of the monsters is incredible. Perfect from what I can tell. The difficulty of managing resources (well being of your kids - use the cookies wisely, the light allocation of the house, etc) is also spot on. It is a real challenge. You need to recognize rooms as well and have a good feeling for the layout of the house as it’s critical to later evenings.
But the interface is absolutely god awful, and I have gotten stuck in geometry requiring me to replay evenings. Clicking on nails has to be done several times, and rotating the screwdriver was fucking terrible. If I hadn’t watched a video of someone else playing (seeing that I had move the curse far, far away from it to rotate it) I would never have figured it out. So stupid. An example of this are the pill bottles - there’s no hint as to what you need to do to them (take off the cap using the mouse and cursor, click on the bottle to raise it high above your head, then tilt it to pour the pills out of the bottle and into your mouth).

The Castle Doctrine
The Castle Doctrine is a creepy and unnerving exploration of the idea of home security and more specifically, the doctrine which it is named after.
You begin with 2000 dollars, a lovely wife, two beautiful children and a wide open empty home. You have a vault that you keep your money in. Everyone else around you lives in similar houses, with lovely wives and beautiful children of their own. They also started with 2000 dollars and a wide open and empty home.
Trouble is, 2000 dollars is not enough for anyone. They’re going to come for your money soon enough. And if that’s not enough, they’ll come for your family and take anything your wife is holding onto for you. You’re the man of the house. It’s up to you to protect the things that matter to you. So you build a security system.

EDIT: This review is obsolete. It describes what the game was like when the community was vivid and bustling (it was a very fun game back then). Nowadays almost no one plays this game and the few houses that remain are very much unbreakable.
–——————————————————————————
In order to enjoy this game you need to accept it’s rules:
*There’s not going to be any hand-holding, you’re supposed to learn how to play the game by trial-and-failure. Some of the best experiences from this game come from experimenting by your own initiative and gradually learning better methods to build and destroy trap systems. Tutorials would only ruin all the fun of learning by dying or getting robbed.

BUNKER
This game is a buggy, unfun mess. The first puzzle didnt make sense, the second one was literally given to you, the third one is ridiculous. I literally could play through the game in just 2:20:46 minutes cause the game is so bad. Here’s my speedrun btw.

Besides the fact the controls aren’t really specified which causes the player to get stuck, For example the wires puzzle, it was an enjoyable short experience. Nothing amazingly scary but it was decent.
