Creature Lab

Creature Lab

Become a mad scientist in search of the ultimate mutagen!

Creature lab sets you on a difficult path of a genius scientist with a very liberal approach to test subjects and official procedures. Establish your hideout and let the experiments commence!

Take stock of your inventory. There’s no use hoping for government funds so you’ll make do with anything you can find or even steal. Prepare your laboratory, obtain basic reagents, and see what happens when you mix them together. Analyze your results and see if your mutagens have any practical use or if they’re only useful as ingredients for more powerful concoctions.

Apply your mutagens to test subjects and observe how they react. Grow entirely new bodyparts and attach them to the creatures you create. Discover tens of different interactions between mutagens and body parts as you slowly assemble an army of mutants.

Running low on resources? Need more test subjects? Send your creatures into the city! Find whatever resources you need. Spread panic in the city to scare off anyone trying to find your hideout. And if the military starts looking for you, you can infect the citizens to delay the army as you prepare a more permanent solution. Let no one stop you in your search for the ultimate mutagen!

Chinatown Detective Agency: Day One

Chinatown Detective Agency: Day One

‘‘There simply must be a corpse in a detective novel, and the deader the corpse the better.’’ - S.S. Van Dine

Chinatown, Singapore in the year 2032 - Amira Darma is the female protagonist operating her first day as a Private Investigator in a dystopian cybernoir world where she feels her detective skills can flourish outside of the financially crippled Criminal Investigation Department that she once worked for under the command of Superintendent Justin Koh.

“Chinatown Detective Agency - Day One” is a prologue for the main game due sometime in 2021, and gives a first impression of what to expect.

In short: I found the game to be interesting and it’s definitely got potential - hence my thumbs up. But it still needs some a lot of work.

The low-down

CDA is a retro-styled cyberpunk/noir-themed whodunit which plays much like a classic point-and-click-adventure with some light elements of life-sim and puzzle-games. From what I hear it is strongly inspired by the Carmen Sandiego-franchise with its chasing after clues and travelling to places all over the world.

Ark Noir

Ark Noir

This game is worth your time, and $10 USD is a fair price.

  • Resource management is the main gameplay aspect. You need to manage your HP, Fortune (lets you bypass otherwise difficult content and helps keep you supplied, but is limited in supply, slowly filling over time), and Inventory (for fighting, but also as consumables for helping NPCs and keeping yourself healed). You’ll want to take on everything to get better endings, level ups, and unlocks, yet doing so will strain your ability to adapt to difficult moments. Eventually you do have to fight at the end of each floor, so you’ll want to spend Fortune on weapons, but if you spend too much then you might not be able to save a vital NPC that might or might not show up. Or maybe your character is already good at fighting, but has such pitiful Fortune that you’re stuck passing on rest rooms (full HP for a payment of Fortune) you really need. Everything is turn based, so there’s no need to rush your decision-making, despite what the clocks on each floor might have you believe.

This is a really nice indie game-gem , which will look good in every RPG fans' library. And as a vn, it is decent, too. AN feels more like an rpg/dungeon crawler/survival game, than a vn, though.

So what do you get ?

1. A “Whodunnit”- and Why ? - mystery. I love those :)

2. Decent story, for a “short” game - though really weird at times ( Why on earth is the chief of security 15 years old ? )

And the conversation is a bit off now and then. But overall, absolutely decent.

You wake up in a sinking ship , an Ark filled with refugees and animals in cages .

Dark Moon

Dark Moon

EMBRACE THE DARKNESS

Dark Moon is a survival strategy game where time is working against you. With the Moon’s electronics down it is up to you to traverse the lunar soil and try to make contact with Earth while managing your crew and resources. You will never know what you will encounter along your way, thus be prepared to make crucial decisions and live with the consequences. Whatever you do - don’t go into the light!

As a member of the Engineering Council sent by Moon Shell, your task was to oversee the construction of a newly developed mining system on the Moon. The simple objective changed dramatically when a massive solar storm hit the Earth, destroying all electronics in its wake. Soon after, you witness the Sun’s scorching heat as the Moon’s main communication relay falls into the light. You are alone, and now everything within the Sun’s reach is gone within seconds. The light is your enemy and the darkness is your salvation.

SOLAR PRESSURE

The Sun is destroying everything it touches, you must avoid its radiance. The Mechaplex - a giant, general-purpose engineering vehicle will stand as your base of operations. It will also serve as your getaway vehicle, thus plan your actions accordingly and escape the tireless enemy. You must constantly move forward.

NON-LINEAR SURVIVAL

A different experience with each playthrough as each location and event may bring unpredictable results. Scan the terrain and obstacles with your drones to prepare for what lies ahead. Embrace or beware of other survivors who will want to join your convoy. Gather minerals and use their properties to increase your chances of survival.

MANAGE YOUR MOBILE BASE

The Mechaplex is your means of survival; build new buildings on top of it, research new technologies, enhance your crew’s abilities, and traverse the lunar plains. Develop new mechanical prototypes that will enhance your mineral gathering or focus on enhancing your convoy’s movement speed to elude the Sun’s deadly grasp. You can’t stay in one place for too long.

IMPACTFUL DECISIONS

You are not the only one who is seeking a way out of this disaster. New crew members, some even pilots such as yourself, can join and bring you valuable abilities and new building platforms, but you have to feed and shelter them. Will you help the unfortunate? Or will you look out for yourself and not risk being betrayed? What kind of person are you?

CREW RELATIONSHIPS

Keep in mind that your crew will react to your decisions. Some members will dislike joining with someone from a rival country while others will embrace him. Decide to throw out a popular member and you may risk a revolt, which may have dire consequences for everyone.

What’s Left Behind

What’s Left Behind

This is a very unique and quite enjoyable simulated city builder game. While there are a few bugs that are being resolved, the developer is quite responsive and most engaged in improving the game. I recommend giving it a chance, particularly if City Building Simulators are a preferred genre. I’ve really enjoyed getting the hang of how the settlements develop, particularly as Research unlocks new abilities and improvements as the game progresses.

Overall, I believe this game has great potential and that it’s one I look forward to enjoying. While there are only 5 cities to choose from currently, each map can be replayed with very different outcomes.

Real player with 22.0 hrs in game

At this point I wouldn’t recommend this game, even though it is early access.

1. The game doesn’t look finished at all. The most simple things aren’t working. If you demolish any building you won’t get all the mentioned resources added in your inventory.

2. If a building gets attacked by a zombie the notification is visible so shortly that you can’t react at all, which probably cost a building. It seems to be useless to have any defensive stuff standing around.

3. If buildings get destroyed by a zombie the number of jobs and employed citizens are updated. This looks like you still have ‘open’ jobs, but actually you don’t.

graphics are sharp on ultra. Even with a bare house, you find yourself ignoring this as your head is spinning 360 degrees constantly. it is a horror but if a child suffers from this amount of monsters for seven days AND not sleeping, it would drive anyone to hallucinate. I could only get to night six but you can watch my walk through below:

Human Factory

Human Factory

Human Factory has so much potential that it was able to keep me hooked despite bugs that would normally cause me to instantly abandon E.A. I play a ton of simulation games, and I sincerely hope this one doesn’t get abandoned (the dev’s fast response on the discussion board suggests otherwise).

Pros:

Easy to understand process with fairly optimized factory production. I wasn’t able to find anything that was too over or underpowered: the numbers felt just right.

Solid music, a must have if a simulation game is to keep you hooked
