Blight

Blight

Blight is an extremely challenging and realistic single-player top-down perspective survival game.

The Blight

A mysterious new disease called the Blight has descended upon the land. You have managed to escape its devastating effects as it has consumed your village and left it to ruins - You now find yourself alone in the wilderness, tired and hungry. You’ve bought yourself some time, but for how long? The Blight grows larger every day, consuming everything in sight…

Realism

The game strives on providing a punishingly realistic and immersive experience with a ton of depth. Actions like chopping trees and cooking food take a lot of precious time. You can only carry a few things at a time. You need to boil water to make sure it’s safe to drink. Water and other liquids need to be carried in bowls and other containers, and will spill out if not transported securely. You will need to scavenge numerous raw materials, many of which will need to be processed, combined, treated or hardened to make tools, items and structures.

Challenge

The Blight is just one of many threats to your existence in the unforgiving wilderness. After quickly setting up camp you will constantly need to keep yourself well fed and hydrated, replenish lost energy with sleep and short rests, defend yourself from the wild beasts that still inhabit the woods, heal your wounds, protect yourself from the harsh elements, and figure out a way to somehow end this terrible disease. Almost everything in the procedurally generated world can and will kill you if you aren’t careful.

There are whispers of Druids in a far off land that may know more about the Blight…

Adventure Light

Adventure Light

Adventure Light is a very atmospheric stylized puzzle side-scrolling game about a young boy named Steve. He is compelled to find his best friend Adam and, in his quest, he ventures onto the darkest paths of the mysterious forest.

Throughout the whole trip, you will encounter various interesting puzzles, which you will have to solve in order to keep moving. All the puzzles are designed as a combination of different elements of the environment that the main character interacts with. In particular: levers, boxes, platforms, carts, lamps, elevators, timers, doors, mills, pulleys, gears, and so on.

In order to make the trip even more enthralling, along the entire road, you will have an opportunity to find hidden plot items, that will reveal the details of this tangled story.

A special emphasis has to be placed on the atmosphere, given that it allows you to put yourself in the main character’s shoes and ultimately immerse in the fantasy world. The proper atmosphere in Adventure Light is established with the help of several key aspects, such as story, arts, color scheme, environment, forest sounds, and background music. All of them combined to allow the player to tap into the right mood and induce in him the right set of emotions.

Visually stunning! I wasn’t expecting many spooks from this and was honestly low-key hoping for more of a walking simulator experience where you get to peacefully walk around an abandoned plague-ridden ghost town and admire the sights and scenery without having to worry about spooks, unexpected chase sequences, or regular threats to my life, but The Wine did a good job of delivering a healthy mixture of both! I’m especially thankful for the addition of what I affectionately call “baby mode” which will automatically vanish homicidal maniacs after a solid minute of running around so that you can solve your puzzles in peace. I kept baby mode on for the whole game but only noticed it twice on particularly awkward puzzles, and it definitely didn’t diminish the experience of the game or make it any less scary!

Cool concept, very dark and kind of gross. Fun to figure out how to play as you go; I’ve never played anything like this. Good use of room scale (didn’t feel like I needed to actually move around my room, but nice to be able to stand up and move arms around w/o hitting anything).

Amazing! This is the kind of thing I want to see in VR: immersive environments and slow-paced, thoughtful puzzles. I think the sound design sucked me in the most. I didn’t want it to end – definitely looking forward to more content!

Unknightly

Unknightly

please note that this current review is an edit to my original review, it will be quite long but its worth putting out there.

firstly when i first got this game i hated it, i wont lie about that because honesty is the best policy or at least thats what i have been raised to believe. anyways i left a rather hateful and scummy review saying that this game wasnt worth it even if it was literally given to me and looking back i realize i was a bit harsh in my words and judgement. i would like to thank Jake for contacting me and letting me know about the changes made to the game. there was a lot to look at and even with the time i accumulated (its not much but its enough for this purpose) i can now see that many changes were made for the better. there are alot of pros with this game that now allow me to change my negative review to a positive one, however there are still issues i would like to address with the game following the reasons i now find this game worth it.

Unknightly is a very solid stealth game so far. The team has been steadily adding features based on player requests and there’s plenty of fun to be had even in the first few available chapters. Peaking around corners and lurking in shadows just feels great in VR.

The enemies behave appropriately in different situations with guards becoming slightly suspicious if they only catch a glimpse of you or moving in if you’re fully visible and making too much noise. Other guards will also start hunting you if they’re near an alerted friend so you have to think quickly to limit the consequences of an ill-conceived approach. The variety of postures and communications from the guards combined with the clear visibility and noise meters support an observant and cautious play style.

White Day VR: The Courage Test

White Day VR: The Courage Test

A prety cool and short little horror game. The movement control is terrible but other than that its ok but dont bother collecting every item bc the leaderboard is broken and dont even register youre score if you managed to find all the items…..just go for the normal and the bad ending.

Heartless Dark

Heartless Dark

I can recommend this if you enjoy some atmosphere and an interesting challenge.

If you get over the initial learning curve the game has a lot of that ‘one more game’ feeling.

The dark and restricted vision can make it tough to navigate.

Once you get used to it then the challenge becomes not running out of ammo.

Once you get used to that the challenge becomes figuring out how to fight the monsters in interesting ways using the game systems (maybe kiting them through acid or stunning them with an exploding fire extinguisher).

A very atmospheric and lethal rogue like. You have to budget your limited ammo and life against enemies that hit hard and fast but I’ve never lost a like a run thinking there was nothing I could do about it. Finding bullets and upgrades is always rewarding.
