60 Seconds!

60 Seconds!

“60 Seconds!” is one of many survival-types games, that are currently available on Steam. The biggest problem of this genre is the fact, that these days, each survival game seems like a copy of a previous one. “60 Seconds!” does not have this problem - although not without issues, it manages to stay unique, engaging and addicting.

Gameplay is split into two parts. First one is time limited (60 seconds) and is based on finding the right items, that will help you to survive next few months that your four (or less, depending on your choices) characters will spend in the bunker. Second part is basically text-based, you’ll make decisions regarding your items and situations, you will also manage your food and water. It’s not only about keeping track of your supplies, so your family has something to eat (that itself isn’t easy, but it’s definitely doable). Even if they are well fed, they still may fall sick, run away, not come back from expedition or loose their minds.

You are Ted: loving husband, father of two. You lead a lovely, peaceful life with your family until the nuclear apocalypse strikes. Now, you have 60 Seconds to decide what’s important enough to bring into the shelter with you… and survive as long as possible.

60 Seconds is not quite what I expected it to be, though in all honesty I’m not sure entirely what I was expecting of the game, but it has its charm still.

It is, in its core, a survival text adventure with some mild dark comedy thrown in. Yes, there’s a part that’s kind of action-y (the initial 60 seconds of it), but it’s played for such small amount of time it’s hardly noticeable, even if the contents are quite relevant to the development of the story.

Alright first that 12 hours is probably 4-2 hours off, I used steam remote play to play the game for some of my play time, I believe the game was left running well I was doing other things, I find this convent as I can return to the game where I left off with my phone, but it dose inflate the hrs on record. It’s likely closer to 8 or 9 at the time of this post.

Kingsim is a game of choice and resource management, it’s ment to played much more then once, likely you won’t reach the end on your first attempt unless your very lucky, but dieing in this game is an achievement, and you can save at any point. I find this game really fun and have played it quite a bit and I still haven’t gone on all the paths that are in the game. I’m trying to avoid spoilers in this review, so it’s been a bit akword writing, next I guess I’ll address some things from the negative reviews that are here

A very fun, but very short game. A lot like Long Live the Queen but less VN style… Sort of. You can marry monster girls, or humans if you’re into that sorta thing. I married a mermaid and summoned an adorable Cthulhu to spread joy and death across the world.

There are very many possibilities but the game generally ends around 10 days and then you can go into an endless sort of sandbox mode where the only thing to do is conquer or make peace with your surrounding neighbors.

Honestly I’d say my 3 hours was worth $10, but I really hope to see more content from the devs for this game soon. There’s a lot of possibilities yet.

Freedom Defender

Freedom Defender

This game sat in my library unplayed for 18 months because I though it was just going to be a tacky, novelty joke game. It’s actually very well made and a lot of thought and effort has gone in to it. The music is particularly good.

Other than being a Lane Tower Defense it is nothing like Plants vs. Zombies. There are 35 levels which can all be done again in New Game+, 7 Mini-Games and Survival Mode. Throughout the 35 levels the goal is to prevent the Hexicans, Burubs, Commies and Aliens from crossing your border. There are a lot of different enemy units and units to battle them with however you are restricted to only picking 6 at a time and I found myself pretty much sticking to the same ones.

Well, what can I say?

Young me played ‘Plants vs. Zombies’ (a game which you can find as a comparison / reference in 90 % of the reviews here, since it was / is the most popular tower defense game) when it was published years ago - and I loved it. Then, I tried out Freedom Defender after a recommendation and my long lost love-feelings for tower defense games have immediately been evoked once again. I loved every minute of this game.

I can say, that it’s the best tower defense game i have played in the last couple of years.

Ruinarch

Ruinarch

A fun game that is definitely in early access.

Edited: 7/30/2021. The game has been significantly changed since I posted my first review, and its' unfortunately not all for the better.

The Good:

  • Villagers have been overhauled significantly, and their interactions with each other and the world are much more interesting. They earn money to buy resources, have more robust individual trades, craft items, and all sorts of other fun stuff.

  • The way monsters are used has been vastly improved. Rather than just spawning them next to a villager and letting them have at it, they are formed into parties, led by one of your demons, to accomplish a specific purpose. Marauder parties from the marauder building break stuff and attack villagers to sow chaos, snatching parties kidnap villagers or monsters for imprisonment, and defense parties protect your base full-time. It’s a bit monotonous to reform the parties repeatedly if you make heavy use of them, but this alone has made Ravager a lot more fun.

UPDATE: hot damn, that’s one hell of an update. 10/10 guys, very cool.

At first, I thought this was the “Devil Simulator” I’ve always wanted. But the longer I played, the more frustrated I became with this game. I’ll start with the Good things, follow up with the Bad, and leave you with my suggestions for improvement.

The Good

-The AI is tremendously well made, just as advertised. Each NPC has different traits, different relationships with other NPC’s, and adjusts it’s behavior over time as it interacts with the other NPC’s. The level of care and attention that went into this facet of the game is dumbfounding, considering this is, at it’s core, “God Simulator meets Sim City”. As an example, if you turn enough villagers into vampires or cultists, they can split off and form their own societies.

Orc Raid

Orc Raid

3h Update

After playing this game and beating the campaign I encountered many bugs. Sometimes the orcs spawn underground or up in the sky and you have to find them - however the orcs can still hit you (somehow). The most concerning thing is that on survival once you kill 1000 orcs the game starts to lag and drop to 1fps. This is quite disturbing because I have quite good computer.

Original review

This is a hard decision to make because the price is fair for what the game has to offer. However, it is a very basic game with some annoying bugs. For example the pause menu doesn’t work and you need to press alt+f4.

Enjoyed the game, but, on one map mobs spawned suck in the air or in the ground, (the map with the tower) also I could not load final map at all. could have been broken by a windows 10 update, but seems more like game bugs.

My Sail And My Sea

My Sail And My Sea

My Sail And My Sea - from a screenshot to a game, the inspiration for making this game originally came from a screenshot of the game MineCraft, which is a sail warship built of blocks, but it can’t move, and It doesn’t fire. It just stands there quietly, like a bonsai. So, I first created the blueprint editor, and then designed a customizable sea world, associated with both, and gradually enriched other game content.

Blueprint editor

The blueprint editor is a tool that allows you to stack your battleships or whatever is interesting with cubes. You can also get blueprints from other players to enrich your inventory. The more blueprints, the more game content abundant. Blueprints determine the specific performance of various ships in the game, which can be strong or weak, large or small.

Naval battle and operate the cube warship

The warships generated by the blueprint are all “alive”. In the naval battle, you can operate a warship to move or attack, shoot at each other with hundreds of guns, smoke billows, and defeat the enemy warships to get rich rewards.

Random map and transform the world

At the beginning of the new game, ports, lands, resources and various ships will be randomly generated. As the game goes on, you can also constantly transform it, so that it really belongs to your own sea.

Encounter war

Encounter battle is a kind of battle on land for specific crew members. It is different from real-time naval battle. It is in the form of round battle chess. If you make some crew members into soldiers, you can take part in the battle. Please ignore their bullshit in the battle.

Port management

In the beginning, you only have a free port and a small ship. Through continuous growth, you will have ports all over the world, and you will drive even larger warships. The bigger the ship, the more crew and financial support you need, which means you More ports need to be controlled.

Maritime trade

Maritime trade is an important way to make money. Take an order, purchase goods everywhere and then transport them to the destination. You can get

considerable profits.

Catch parrots

Don’t forget to catch parrots. In the early stage of the game, they will play a good role in lubricating corresponding to different development routes.
