! That Bastard Is Trying To Steal Our Gold !

Well, we can throw dynamite in this game. Usually throwing dynamite under your feet would be a stupid idea but hey, this is a video game. And yes, it gets boring after 5 minutes.

Beside that this a logical game with a bit of platforming where you need to gather all of the pot items (whatever that is) and get back to the entrance after that. You have a limited amount of dynamite that you need to use to detonate dark blue blocks in order to gather items or find a way back.

Not much more to write about this one, really.

This is a fairly austere looking indie puzzle platformer that requires you to collect bags of gold in a two-dimensional upright grid based playfield by jumping around and blasting obstacles with a finite amount of dynamite. This limited resource adds a strategy layer to an otherwise unexciting game.

The visuals are not what I would expect in this kind of game. I think the designer was trying for a puzzle game “feel” in a 2.5D action game aesthetic. The underground cavern background is nice, but the rectangular playfield is suspended in the air like a bunch of stacked blocks in an ant farm. It would look better If it was attached to the ground and background as if it was hewn out of the earth. It would look equally better if it was surrounded by a border like a browser-based puzzle game. Trying to do both (or neither - I honestly can’t tell) fails on many levels. The graphics are downright jarring.

Artificial Entanglement

Artificial Entanglement

Play as a Super AI, in an abandoned robotics lab. Use puzzle solving & platforming skills to progress through the lab. You are being monitored by another Super AI, the lab itself. Unravel the meaning of your existence, accompanied by the voice of the lab. It might be your only friend.

Gain positive or negative charge to interract with the magnets in the level. Magnetize yourself accordingly or you might die!

Also, this works with interactable objects.

Giveaway your active movement to get a small boost and turn into a ball. You will not be able to move like normal, but you can fit through tight spaces.

While a ball you can transfer your momentum directionally up to 3 times. But don’t forget each time you lose a fraction of your momentum.

Use your momentum to break obstacles to get through. Some breakables are tougher so, you will need to build up your speed.

Touch a deadly trap to blow yourself up! Watch your parts fling across the level and spill your oil all over the place.

Things inevitably go batshit crazy very fast in the Multiverse when you discover the ability to travel between parallel worlds. Switching between them allows you to solve logical and spatial challenges and to progress the story.

This review is long past due, I don’t know how I didn’t write a review for this game over so many years. But by far! The best game Valve has made. Portal 2 is the definition of a perfect puzzle game. It really makes you think in a different aspect with portals, it’s so extraordinary. The story is absolutely outstanding and heartwarming, with comedic and lighthearted moments to cinematic scenes all while trying to escape Aperture Science. The visuals are nothing too captivating but very memorable. The audio is fantastic, Portal 2 has some of the best soundtracks I’ve heard out of any game it’s perfect for trying to think while going through test chambers. Everything about the main game is perfect I could play it a hundred times, come back to it years later and play it again, and it would be still just as great as the first time I experienced it.

A Pretty Odd Bunny

A Pretty Odd Bunny

Note: I received a free copy of this game from the developer with the intention for me to review it.

So, first things first, A Pretty Odd Bunny is hard as nails stealth platformer that despite it’s cute appearance, has some pretty violent aspects to it, making it a poor choice for a younger audience. Do not go into this expecting a kids' game, because your ass will promptly be handed to you by it’s many perils.

I really enjoyed how fresh this game felt. I’ve played a lot of platformers over the years, I would even say it’s one of my favourite genres, but a lot of them can feel very samey or average. A Pretty Odd Bunny keeps the platforming gameplay fresh by adding in some stealth elements. You cannot attack your foes, you will need to find ways to avoid or sneak past them. There are other levels that change things up additionally by chasing you with a overflow of carrots, or making you ride in a minecart.

After completing it, i can safely say it’s a extremely fun game

it’s short, simple, cute, and just fun

it’s visuals and art style combined with it’s mild gore and central theme feels very reminiscent of newgrounds platformer game

There’s not much to say besides that if you’re looking for a simple but addicting fun game or want something cute or want bunnies(although one that eats pigs) then i’d highly recommend it especially for it’s price.

This game is surprising, very positive way, because it shows, the great imagination of its developer, who has managed to create a fun, entertaining story, and with very varied puzzles, where you have to handle two characters, so that We can exceed the levels.

The Crow’s Eye

The Crow’s Eye

The Crow’s Eye is a rather ambitious little game from an independent Spanish developer. It tries to be much more than it actually is and combines way too many genres and components instead of focusing on a few instead. At first it seems like a psychological horror (in some way it is), but without the presence of any monsters (except for some large parasitic worms which do minimal damage before we shake them off), it could hardly be called one. For an adventure there are far too few items to use (we collect ingredients for the most part and craft mainly unimportant items from those). As strange as it may sound and totally not what one would expect from watching the trailer and the screenshots, the puzzle-platformer tag is the one that fits the game best: from time to time we have to solve various puzzles involving 3D platforming sections where we can actually ‘die’ (because we almost immediately respawn nearby - fortunately the game gives us an explanation for that at the end).

Introduction

I’ll start by stating very clearly that The Crow’s Eye is every other genre you can imagine, but definitely not Horror. In the several hours of playtime I have accumulated so far (and reached the end of the story), I wasn’t startled or scared by anything this game has thrown at me. No jump scares, no implied terror or even tension at the very least. You have to be aware of this and if you can come to terms with a relatively toothless “atmospheric horror” as it is being marketed, you might enjoy playing it. I sure did, despite the mislabeling. The game represents the Steam debut of its developer and I am pleased by their first project.

Creep

Creep

Creep is a 2D platform game that takes place inside a struggled person’s inner world represented as a worm world. You control the worm form of the same person as he shows why this world exists and how it’s like to live there.

I have no friends and life is full of obstacles

Yes, it is hard to say the other worms in the world are friendly, and there are lots of other dangers you will encounter. There is no one else other than you to cope with all these. Your only weapon is your wit against this crooked world until you reach the point to hell with it. This won’t just go forever like that. Your relationship with other worms will change as you progress.

I once loved too

Throughout the story, you will occasionally visit some memories or analogical mini levels with different gameplay than the main part of the game. These levels will unlock new abilities the worm can use. These abilities are not mere powers. They are part of the actual character progression itself and they will start to change the main gameplay and story.

Kyklos Code

This game is actually pretty cool. Definitley a Portal-esque kind of game. Definitley worth the money. The timer is actually a really interesting and challenging aspect to this game. Very well done.

Reminds me on Portal but with a different game design. The puzzels are thoughtful and tricky so that it is a nice game for logic-lovers! I also love the music.

Nice Indiegame :)
