Love Me Forever

Love Me Forever

From Brendan’s view: The story is about how I as a brave heroic firefighter save a pretty girl inside a burning building. We start to date she suddenly becomes very clingy and druggs me. Next thing I know I wake up trapped inside her father’s basement with an electric bracelet attached to my ankle. What kind of of girl does something like that?!?

From Allison’s view: The story is about how my soulmate saves my life. We’re in love and want to get married and have babies together! We currently are living very happily at my father’s house. We’re going to have such an amazing life together!

Brendan this is you, you like to play the hero in every given situation

Allison is your girlfriend and soulmate (Alli forced us to write this..)

Jerry is your best friend, he only became a firefighter to get girls

Tori is the paramedic and only female in the firefighter crew

Maddox the driver engineer, drives the fire truck like a racecar driver

Vernon is the captain and your supervisor (he is also a moron)

A unique RPG with puzzle elements tied to the relationship of the main characters

A messed up Story that will question your relationship (if you are in one)

Original hand drawn Art created by a colorblind graphic designer that had an F in art

Curse Words like the s-word and f-word (not scumbag, not fudge,..)

Bag that you need to stash your inventory inside

Glow-in-the-Dark Stickers can only be collected during darkness (turn the light off)

Zodiac Coins exchange them for future predicts from Alli’s grandma (she is a psychic)

Video Tapes will show you intense scenes from your relationship with Allison

Sweet Minigames can be found in the game, also arcade machines

What kind of a game is this?

Love Me Forever is a puzzle and exploration RPG with an inventory system. Find tools, objects, consumables, keys and use them to unlock doors, overcome obstacles and solve puzzles. The game focuses on story and puzzling, it’s combat-free.

What is a cool feature of the game?

Polter Pals

Polter Pals

Making friends in the afterlife is a little different.

You play as a lonely ghost with the power to possess the living. Surrounded by Oomans who cannot see you, you must use this power to steer them into comically fatal accidents and an early friendship, freeing the friendly ghosts within them. Each level is a puzzle diorama, styled after classic children’s stop-motion cartoons, where you have to figure out how to make all the friends using the available hazards.

Every Ooman you ghost will add you on LiveBurial, the afterlife’s hottest social media app. The posts of your newly deceased friends give you a unique look at the dysfunctional, hyper-consumerist world of the living through the lens of a social media-obsessed afterlife.

Key Features

  • Possess hapless Ooman friends-to-be and steer them into cartoonishly gruesome friend-making hazards.

  • Puzzle through 60+ levels across 4 thematically distinct areas, including 4 unique bosses that test your mastery over the power of possession.

  • Keep up with your phantom friends via the in-game Live Burial app! Each new friend you make shares their thoughts and feelings about their recent expiration via darkly humorous social media posts.

  • Learn about the world of Polter Pals through the in-game Encyclopeoplia app, a collection of questionably sourced articles on all Oomans, hazards, and bosses encountered in the game.

  • Make friends to a groovy soundtrack by the Mysterious Breakmaster Cylinder.

Angelo and Deemon: One Hell of a Quest

Angelo and Deemon: One Hell of a Quest

This game had been on my radar for a long time but bad reviews always put me off. I finally saw it on sale for just over €2 and bought it.

The dialogues are a bit simplistic but there are a couple of funny moments. The game flows well, the in-game help is good (no need to look for walkthroughs) and, thanks to the nice voice acting, the two and a half hours or so are worth the full price of the game.

Although the game is short, there is never the impression of seeing something cut or rushed. Everything is very clean, without bugs. Most of the game follows a sharable logic, except for a couple of points where you have to read the mind of the developers. Points that we can solve thanks to the (aforementioned) in-game help.

Very nice, but somewhat flawed game.

Pros:

  • Artwork. It’s top-notch. Splendid characters on splendid backgrounds. Animation is somewhat simplistic, but nice nonetheless.

  • Voice acting. Very good for an indie game. Even the Ben’s voice matches the original perfectly.

  • Puzzles. Very good. Challenging enough to please a seasoned adventure gamer. Rare find nowadays.

  • Plot. It’s OK. Good pace, nice ideas.

Neutral:

  • Writing. Some characters and their stories aren’t consistent enough. Some are plain silly.

This review is long past due, I don’t know how I didn’t write a review for this game over so many years. But by far! The best game Valve has made. Portal 2 is the definition of a perfect puzzle game. It really makes you think in a different aspect with portals, it’s so extraordinary. The story is absolutely outstanding and heartwarming, with comedic and lighthearted moments to cinematic scenes all while trying to escape Aperture Science. The visuals are nothing too captivating but very memorable. The audio is fantastic, Portal 2 has some of the best soundtracks I’ve heard out of any game it’s perfect for trying to think while going through test chambers. Everything about the main game is perfect I could play it a hundred times, come back to it years later and play it again, and it would be still just as great as the first time I experienced it.

Red Comrades 3: Return of Alaska. Reloaded

This game is AWESOME! If you liked any of the monkey island games or any old school point and click/combine you’ll love this game. It has a different feature of detaching items you have previously attached so you have to really think about it. It’s a long game at least several hours as you change areas so much. It has extremely funny humor that is thrown in here and there and funny situations. If you like point and click games then you need this one for sure! 9/10!

It’s not a bad game, much better than the second part, but not great either, I feel like at some places it was a cent short of a dollar, and some non game breaking bugs were left in the game.

With some places the puzzles made sense but even when you figure out the solution there was an iillogical way to actually apply it, for example

! the puzzle with the magnet where you had to shoot it with the bazooka, clicking on the magnet with the bazooka didn’t work, yo had to click with the bazooka on one of the players in the room with the magnet And some puzzles made no sense at all, like the way you had to get rid of the dog.

Dinner with an Owl

Dinner with an Owl

Saw it was an odd game, decided to stream it with some friends for a laugh.

Originally beat the game in nine in-game days and about 20 mins. Decided to fuck around after that point and see what happens… and see what happens we did, the game has quite a few scares an odd behaviors when you start breaking it and doing things at strange times. Quite some spooks and some laughs… and some glitches like the magic phantom knife… game loves calling you out on your bullshit when you start fucking around.

I absolutely LOVED this game! It’s a short and sweet point and click game with a wonderful little creepy story. Took me half an hour and 11 in-game days to complete! Not sure if you can do it in any less but it was super fun and I really did like it. The artwork was so lovely and it gave me some Rusty Lake vibes (without the puzzles!)

10/10 enjoyed, highly recommend to anybody that wants a nice little interactive story with some lovely music too!

Big props to the devs & co! Would love to see any more games you come out with!

Life Goes On: Done to Death

Life Goes On: Done to Death

Life Goes On: Done to Death is a neat little puzzle game that I picked up a while ago and recently replayed to confirm my opinion of it.

The core concept of Life Goes On is quite unique and well-designed. Essentially, the game revolves around killing your knights in order to progress through the puzzles. The simplest example is creating a pathway across a spike pit with the knight’s bodies. However, this alone wouldn’t be enough to flesh out a full game, so the developers incorporated all sorts of mechanics that make the player think in a certain way to solve the puzzle. Life Goes On’s mechanics include but are not limited to: Checkpoints, toggleable spike pits/walls, saw blades, flamethrowers, buttons, conveyor belts, cannons, tractor beams, and more.

I first played the demo months ago and instantly fell in love with this game.

The full game did not fail to deliver.

The whole concept of (literally) standing on the shoulders of those who came before is presented wonderfully. See a deathtrap? Die on it, then respawn and walk on your corpse. Switch that has to be held down? Die so that your corpse falls on it, then respawn and walk past. Et cetera, et cetera.

The controls are a bit inaccurate at times, and will most likely leave you dying slightly more often than intended. Although since this game is all about sacrificing one knight to make a path for another, a few more corpses lying around aren’t that much of a problem. (And if you’re finding it difficult, a few more corpses aren’t a problem at all.)

Divide By Sheep

Divide By Sheep

If you like puzzle games, specifically math puzzle games, then I really recommend this. This is a brightly colored game that doesn’t take itself seriously and has cute sound effects and animations paired along with it. There is a vibrant positivity to this game, despite drowning and killing your sheep!

You will constantly be counting your sheep (and soon wolves, and later pigs) in order to figure out exactly what needs to happen and in what order. The order in which you do things is also very important, so there is a lot of shuffling. While it may seem repetitive at first, the game pretty consistently throws in new animals, platforms, and mechanics to keep things interesting and you will often be trying out different combinations of animals and mechanics to figure out how they work together. I found it kept my interest with all these things.

Real player with 60.4 hrs in game

First things first. I am not 100% sure, but it seems it is a mobile game’s port (made in Flash). Both versions released quite at the same time but it still feels like a mobile game. Why is that even important? Well, if you tend to play on mobile devices as well, perhaps this is important because the game is way cheaper on mobile platforms. So check your app store and maybe you’ll buy it from there if you like the game and reviews about Divide by Sheep give you any assurance : )

That being said. This game looks cute in any possible good way. Gameplay works, graphics and artwork are great, plus music and sounds are not annoying. This is a puzzle game and I thought why write another review about puzzle games. But I really liked it and spent quite a bit time there, so I might as well share my experience.

Hell Invades Heaven

Read carefully, as this story is too boring to read it again.

You, an absolutely newbie hellish commander, gain the possibility* to prove that all rumors about your person are at least 28% wrong, and you are in fact capable of commanding small forces in the greatest Hell vs Heaven war that ever happened**.

Put on your Unterleutnant uniform and do your job.

What you probably want to know:

  • 15*** almost beautiful, challenging levels on Hell, Earth and Heaven scenery.

  • 10 different minions, so you don’t need to do everything yourself.

  • A lot of challenging puzzles that may be impossible to solve for people under 5 y.o.

  • Interesting dialogues for full silent cinema experience.

  • You can decorate Devil with tattoos****.

  • Beware of holy water!

_* of course if you buy or torrent game, otherwise you will be seen as uncappable of this tasks for the rest of your life

** at least in this dimension; C137 and D2R2 are much more interesting in this case
