Angelo and Deemon: One Hell of a Quest
This game had been on my radar for a long time but bad reviews always put me off. I finally saw it on sale for just over €2 and bought it.
The dialogues are a bit simplistic but there are a couple of funny moments. The game flows well, the in-game help is good (no need to look for walkthroughs) and, thanks to the nice voice acting, the two and a half hours or so are worth the full price of the game.
Although the game is short, there is never the impression of seeing something cut or rushed. Everything is very clean, without bugs. Most of the game follows a sharable logic, except for a couple of points where you have to read the mind of the developers. Points that we can solve thanks to the (aforementioned) in-game help.

Very nice, but somewhat flawed game.
Pros:
-
Artwork. It’s top-notch. Splendid characters on splendid backgrounds. Animation is somewhat simplistic, but nice nonetheless.
-
Voice acting. Very good for an indie game. Even the Ben’s voice matches the original perfectly.
-
Puzzles. Very good. Challenging enough to please a seasoned adventure gamer. Rare find nowadays.
-
Plot. It’s OK. Good pace, nice ideas.
Neutral:
- Writing. Some characters and their stories aren’t consistent enough. Some are plain silly.

Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes
I didn’t much enjoy Edna & Harvey: The Breakout but I did enjoy Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes at least for the most part.
The graphics of this game fall somewhere between E&H: The Breakout and Deponia. I didn’t care for either of those styles to be honest but Deponia’s style grew on me. E&H’s style… well it never did. This game is only slightly better in that it’s a slight modification to the style of The Breakout and that it’s a much higher resolution. In terms of animating, backgrounds, and transitions… everything is great. Animations were smooth and simple, backgrounds were interesting and surprisingly detailed, and transitions were smooth. There were however a few instances of characters or parts of characters disappearing despite still being active hotspots. Such as Capu (the boy who stands in the hall near the gargoyles) being completely invisible most of the time till he gave me the love letter to deliver. There was also the bartender’s head disappearing after drinking the volcano drink. Other than having to pixel hunt the hotspot a little bit to interact this didn’t effect gameplay.

A great continuation to the first game.
Despite the line above giving you a bit of a hint, I thought it worth mentioning that despite Steam saying that “Edna & Harvey: The Breakout” was released after “Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Eyes”, this is infact wrong and resulted in me playing the two in the wrong order. This game is the sequel. They follow each other very loosely in terms of story but I think playing them in order would be more enjoyable.
First of all, compared to the previous game, there was a big improvement between the two. You can really tell that Daedalic Entertainment had the means to step their game up. There was a bit of a time gap between the two and it shows.

AR-K
I received this game as a part of some bundle I bought way back.
I want to like this game. I wish the development team the best. But unfortunately I cannot recommend it, not even for $8 USD.
There are good, or at least decent, things here. There is some humor, including physical humor, that works. The actual voice lines are mostly fine, and what faults there are there in this audio itself are much more likely on the VA director and/or scriptwriters. Barring one jarring segment of lines I noticed in the 2nd episode where something obviously went wrong in recording or compression or something, but the team decided to use it anyway, which… fits with some of my suspicions about how out-of-time/energy/money they were feeling at the time.

AR-K may be a study in how to have an okay story, okay graphics and good voice-acting and still come out with a bad game - soo manyy problems.
This title consists of the first two episodes of the game, “Gone with the Sphere” and “The Girl Who Wasn’t There”, and the second feels way better than the first. Still, we see a lot of beginner’s mistakes in the handiwork. Basically every aspect of the game is flawed in some way or another.
Note: Review was rewritten to fit Steam’s transparent character limit.

Dinner with an Owl
Saw it was an odd game, decided to stream it with some friends for a laugh.
Originally beat the game in nine in-game days and about 20 mins. Decided to fuck around after that point and see what happens… and see what happens we did, the game has quite a few scares an odd behaviors when you start breaking it and doing things at strange times. Quite some spooks and some laughs… and some glitches like the magic phantom knife… game loves calling you out on your bullshit when you start fucking around.

I absolutely LOVED this game! It’s a short and sweet point and click game with a wonderful little creepy story. Took me half an hour and 11 in-game days to complete! Not sure if you can do it in any less but it was super fun and I really did like it. The artwork was so lovely and it gave me some Rusty Lake vibes (without the puzzles!)
10/10 enjoyed, highly recommend to anybody that wants a nice little interactive story with some lovely music too!
Big props to the devs & co! Would love to see any more games you come out with!

Red Comrades Save the Galaxy: Reloaded
Point and click adventure game with a quest to find a Russian symbol.
True to it’s Russian nature you’ll see a lot of Russian stereotypes and clichés which can be fun and annoying.
I do wonder whether I’m walking through some sort of mini-Russia
! with drunks on the streets and being poor with almost everyone asking for money and many things just broken or in a worn down state. To come accross Very rude and impolite people is something I didn’t expect, actually.
The game has a very usable system to interact with the envoirement and a handy map that will transport you trough the game if you don’t feel like taking your characters walking. Beautifully drawn backgrounds and freshly designed lead characters. Still has that olden days Russia look of course. With Russian voices make it sound true to it’s Russian nature. It’s was hilarious to hear them talk in Russian for the first time, luckely the English subtiltes made sense. That’s where this game differentiates from other point&click games, it’s Russia style of handling things.

Well, it’s a russian game. Its main characters, Peter Isaev and Vasiliy Ivanovich Chapaev, were real people who served in Russian Civil War. Then, in 1934, came a very successful and popular film “Chapaev”, so this pair became the stable character of jokes and folklore, being popular for decades the USSR existed. They only lost their former glory in in 1990s-2000s, because of changed times and morals.
And, this game was made first decade after vanishing of that country, in a dark time for millions of people. Among questions that arose then, there was one, kind of philosophical - whither to move? For some people the way to get to the answer was - since the Union’s return in the nearest years seemed to be highly improbable, it’s reasonably to sum up all the previous experiense that country, consisted of every inhabitant, had, to highlest its best, to use it as base for building something some suitable for new circumstances, and then to move on.

The Secrets of Jesus
Finished The Secret of Jesus today (german version). I liked it from the beginning to the end.
The riddles are difficult, but also very pleasant. Some solutions are hilarious and funny. As the whole game.
I like the sayings Jesus gives (many quotes from the bible) and I also find interesting how many informations are woven into the game about the people and the time of Jesus. Jesus himself is shown as a sympathetic and empathic person to me. And with a nice sense of humour.
The Story is well told and has a great end. I like it when the conclusion of a game is not so abrupt, is hasted or questions are still open. Everything is beautifully (and funny) brought to an end.

This game reminds me of the golden age of Point & Click games, it’s not perfect but it’s better than a lot of recent P&C games.
Pros:
-
Interesting Story (doesn’t mean i agree with it).
-
Hard riddles but they mostly make sense (Some are just funny).
-
Full of Dark humor.
-
Classic Point & Click.
-
Good music.
Cons:
-
Could be touchy for some people.
-
Shorter than expected (if you know what you’re doing).
In general it’s worth the money, i enjoyed it and if you’re a fan of Point & Click games you’ll enjoy it too.

Agatha Knife
“Agatha Knife” is a indie point & click game from the developers behind the similar game “MechaNika”. Compared to other games, “Agatha Knife” is a very unique game with a very interesting story and gameplay. I would describe it as an addictive game from just playing 10 minutes in, the music is very pleasant and suits the game very well. “Agatha Knife” also have fun puzzles that you need to solve, some a bit harder than another. You will defenetily find yourself stuck in the game with a “must” to continue til' you finish the game.

Agatha Knife is absolutely wonderful. The art is beautiful and the music is really pleasing to listen too. I think the things that really stands out about this game is the puzzles, characters, and story.
The puzzles aren’t insanely simple or annoying long like in a lot of point and click adventures. I always knew what my goal was though out the game, but there was a few times I really had to stop and think how to work a puzzle out. There is a hint system in the game, but it’s not the normal ‘go here and do this’ hints. The hints are in the form of tarot cards that you need to work out the meaning to get the full hint. They’re not super difficult to work out, but it’s nice to not have the game completely hold your hand.

Anna’s Quest
A faithful, old fashioned fairytale, with all its merits and its flaws. An enjoyable game, though some aspects are not on Daedelics usual level.
Anna’s Quest
When her grandfather gets ill, Anna has to find a cure out in the world. She has lived isolated on their farm all of her life, and her grampa always warned her of all the dangers out there. So when she ventures out, she immediately gets captured by an evil witch!
The story is told in six chapters, of which the first is an introduction. Every chapter has a new scene, with many new dangers and characters. We witness Anna to grow in her ability to cope with the world in her own way, and discover her magic power of telekinesis, which she inherited from her grandfather!

It’s not review-writing time…it’s escaping time!
I adored this game so much…the characters are engaging, the story is enjoyable with light-hearted humour shining through what would normally be seen as very dark and grim plot themes, the art style is very charming and whimsical, and the puzzles are for the most part very intuitive–with a couple of challenging ones included, requiring some out-of-the-box thinking at times.
Pro:
-
Wonderful art style and character designs.
-
Well-written story, with Grimm-brothers-fairy-tale inspired themes and tropes, but with a modern spin on elements.

Do Not Feed the Monkeys
Websites like Insecam allow you to view feeds of cameras from around the world, which are on unsecured networks. A couple of days ago I was watching some Japanese guy ins his yard throwing away his trash, and couple of kitchen cooks making a meal. You get some weird cameras placed in odd angles that make you feel as if you’ll witness a crime at any second. The idea of gathering info and keeping watch over multiple lives is what prompted Spanish development house Fictiorama Studios to develop this game.
– Real player with 35.0 hrs in game
The theme of surveillance and voyeurism is a popular one in Hollywood movies. Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window is a popular one that depicted the allure of, and obsessions with these acts. Now we have Fictiorama Studio tapping into these ideas in their video game, Do Not Feed the Monkeys.
Aside from surveillance and voyeurism, DNFTM also weaves in moral dilemmas and light resource management along the lines of Papers, Please, and presents opportunities for intervention like in Orwell. Yet, this game is by no means derivative. The developers deftly combined these elements to create an addictive, appealing, and unique gaming experience. While DNFTM is neither overly stressful, tense and dour like in Papers, Please, nor serious and political in Orwell, it is actually clever and intentionally self-referential.

“Edna and Harvey: The Breakout” is an outstanding point-and-click adventure. When I had finished it, I thought to myself: “I loved every minute of this game. Too bad it was so short”. I was surprised to discover I had spend 28 hours playing before reaching the end. Considering the genre, that is truly remarkable. I then asked myself: “How is it possible? What exactly made this game so good I had lost my count of time playing?” To answer these questions, I had broken down point-and-click adventure genre into primary elements. In this review, I examine these elements in “H&E: The Breakout” and find out how they conquered my attention and heart.
