Memories of Fireflies

Memories of Fireflies

The game is genuinely creepy. It features a good balance between the run and hide, leaving you on your toes, not knowing what to expect next. The visuals are very pretty and the story interesting!

Classic 2d arcade. Leapen is short and easy game with pixel graphics and 8bit music. There are 8 levels that are almost the same. This game trains your reaction, but there are other games that do it better.

A cool game to pass the time. I remembered Geometry dash in terms of the fact that only jumps can be controlled. The game is made in a pixel style, you need to collect all the apples for the door to the next level to appear. There are even very amusing levels in which you need to catch good timing. Quite good

Rogue Islands

I know I only have 5 hours in this game at time of review, but, this is the sort of game where after five hours you pretty much know what you’re getting. I still have some different environments to explore, different monsters to fight, different quests to complete, etc, but I’ve repeatedly experienced the basic gameplay loop of going to an island, exploring, fighting monsters, and completing quests.

Its really good! Don’t be fooled by the blocky-game design and the gnome protagonist. This is a game about going to a hostile environment, exploring it under a time crunch, scavenging for everything worthwhile that you can find, defeating the monsters that want to eat you, and retreating.

Ok, yet another ‘not yes, not no’ recommend. This is not a bad game, and there are some fun aspects to it. But it slips over into ‘not recommend’ because of how many times I had to platform my way up those damn trees.

It’s bright - psychadelic almost. Minecraft on acid, without the building stuff. I mostly liked the aesthetic, although it does suffer from every island feeling pretty similar to every other island with slight variations in theme.

Out of the gate it was pretty brutal I have to say. Even playing on ‘easy’ was punishing to begin with (well, most of the way through tbh, but hey). First time I get off the boat and the first outcropping of land has about 4 of the introductory skele guys and they just wasted me. Died, repeat, died, repeat, title screen. All within a few minutes.

3500+ hours in and counting… I think that means I like it! lol

Edit: Over 6000 hours now and still love it!

The Game is officially released but is still being developed!

Like any good MMO the game is still being added to, balanced, and improved upon. Updates oscillate from going to the public test severs one week and then to the live servers normally the next week so that 1-2 updates come to the live servers each month.

Edit: I’m adding a new review now that I’ve been putting this game on hold/maintenance mode, as I’ve reached my endgame in terms of content (highest tier gear, comfortable in terms of economy, and having a base i’m satisfied with). My old review is still available below.

At the time of writing (9 Jul 2021), the devs hasn’t communicated anything for several months now, and there’s no news about the latest update (nor is there any significant update). I’ve put the game down for about 3 months now. However, the servers are still up and the players are still playing (although to my knowledge the player count is getting smaller), which is questionable for an MMO.

This is a fun game to chill and play. I like the mechanics and floating feeling of the controls. This is a VERY simple game, but it is well done.

A more approachable ‘Devil Daggers’ by a small dev team. You can tell care went into the making of this game.

I use this regularly to stream tabletop stuff on Twitch and it works GREAT. If you want something more immersive than the prevalent 2D platforms, YAG really has a lot to offer. Your players can go First Person, Third Person, or even top down if they want. Flexibility and the already multiple updates are just two of the perks offered by using YAG.

It does take some additional prep on the front end from your GM building out your maps, but once they are built you can save them. The good news is you can make massive changes with the very easy to use terrain tools. I personally think it’s a fair trade off for the level of immersion.

I was surprised, interesting story with good plot of the game.

I finished the game but I wanted to play longer.

I loved the music and sound effects. There are moments of tension, got out of energy mode mode and there was a spider in front of me, I already thought “shit” kkkkk!

Really Short and simple game. About thirty minutes long. Loved the art and diversity of monsters.
