This game does not work! I have the same problem as other gamer’s, after installation the game will not play, nothing happens when you press ‘new game’ but the stats show I have played for a certain time. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled but the same problem exists. I can’t even find a website for the developers to email them for a fix, does anyone have any ideas?

AMID EVIL
AMID EVIL at its core is a wonderfully rendered retro throwback FPS that beckons the nostalgic memories of games such as Heretic and Hexen and Quake with gorgeous environments, beautiful weapon feel and a majestic combat encounters.
However, I come to you today not focused on the weapons, the enemies or the aesthetics, but rather something truly gorgeous: the Difficulty Selection level.
Most games dare not be so bold with something so seemingly obtuse as a Difficulty Selection level where it is not as simple as clicking a rather comedic naming on a menu. AMID EVIL, in this regard, dares to be different. There have been other reviews left for this game with scathing remarks as to the “poor design” of the Difficulty Selection. I disagree wholeheartedly. For you see, the Difficulty Selection tutorializes the player of the movement mechanics and the weight of the Champion in such an elegant and silent way that most take for granted. To go for the Easy difficulty, it is straightforward and one could get by the challenge by only holding the “W” key on the Keyboard. This is Leon Zawada and Simon Rance’s brilliance coming into full display here. By having the Easy difficulty being so easy to access, it makes clear of the very nature of the room so as to not to cause further confusion with regards to the other options.

Amid Evil is strange, half of the game is some of the best level design, music, atmosphere, and art direction Ive seen in a game. The other half is a boring bland repetitive slog. Its a coin flip for which episode is which, but imo the best Amid Evil gets is worth the worst it can be.

Tormentum - Dark Sorrow
This game is dark, despondent, despairing and depending on how one defines horror, it could be that too. A point and click not so adventurous “adventure” game. (Adventure because it does fall into any other catergory, not really, other then maybe supernatural. But even that would be a stretch.) Has a moralistic tone of more right vs wrong, then good vs evil.
Story: The condemned arrives with a fellow prisoner at a castle specifically designed for torture, torment, and purging souls of their evil through pain, suffering, and grief. (Dark, very dark, in tone.) The condemned man is told this in his jail cell by the horned guard, who also informs the condemned man he (the guard) will back to torture him. Of course, the condemned man does not wait around for that. This begins the journey through the Hell-bound castle, and meeting its various denizans. After that it is a trip though the wastelands, dealing with the inhabitants, and eventually to the condemned man’s goal, a structure of uprised arms with a shrouded female statue inside. Ethical choices are made throughout, in the simply question kill or not kill.

Awakened behind the twisted metal bars of your cell suspended far above the earth, a magnificently gnarled airship humming ominously above as it carries our mysterious hooded protagonist from their unknown past to a hellish new reality behind the confines of a massive and ghastly prison complex. Will you give in to your new existence of demonic incarceration, or will you find the will to journey into the pits of hell itself and find your freedom?
Tormentum is not a tale for the queasy, with brutal depictions of death, despair, and torture the imagery within is enough to make the average modern horror fan piss their pants in terror. The game comes from a seriously engaging and tasteful angle despite this, and everything is done in a fictionally compelling way that serves the narrative and not just for the sake of shock. The core element in Tormentum is atmosphere, and its surreal influences show to the very root.

Yeli Orog
This is the first time I’ve posted a review but this is a new (and imo brilliant) game and I wanted to support it. Originally posted on AdventureGamers.com :
Wow! Just finished it in one sitting (more on that later). What a thrilling, psychedelic ride. That one(?) person could do this is truly impressive. Good puzzles, great storyline and amazing atmosphere. Very innovative.
There were a couple of bold choices made which I’m not sure about. They ended up working for me but may turn some people off.

Aargh! My kingdom! My kingdom for a save system!
This is a really, really interesting little game. The main thing stopping this from being a great little game is the complete and utter lack of a save mechanic.
It’s really not a good thing when a game that lasts well over an hour not only fails to provide so much as an autosave, but almost encourages you to rush the reading of long - though otherwise well-written - passages of text, by not allowing itself to be played over more than one session. I can’t be the only gamer on the planet who thinks they might get in a quick half-hour of gaming before bed; only to find that they’re obliged to stay awake a good hour beyond that, lest they be forced to start from scratch again.

Thumper
Disclaimer: This review is considerably lengthy. The abridged version is: buy it. I have been obsessed with this game for the past few days and that train, much like the space beetle you play as, is not stopping anytime soon. If you’re interested in reading about how I believe Thumper applies play conditioning, minimalism and cosmic horror to create a brilliant game filled with gorgeous graphics, an intense score and absurd replay value – go ahead!
This strange game is an incredibly satisfying trifecta of psychedelic art, rhythm-based play and horror tension. Seriously, somehow developers Drool have managed to make a game described as, a space beetle travelling through the void, a uniquely terrifying and intense experience. I want to focus the majority of my review on a concept I think Thumper executes brilliantly. It’s a term known as play conditioning, and it’s not mine – I first heard its use by film and games essayist Hbomberguy. He coined the term vis-à-vis Thumper; so, with this in mind, I believe it to be intellectually honest for me to present his argument given that I will proceed to apply, expand and comment on it.

I understand that hearing “rhythm violence” or “rhythm horror” might be a bit concerning or confusing, so I am going to try to explain it. It is incredibly difficult to know what this game means by those things without trying it.
This game has no gore, no jumpscares, no typical horror tropes, no dismemberment, etc. What Thumper does is give you a feeling of tension and sheer adrenaline. Everything builds up to different points and then releases that tension, thus giving you that feeling of “dread” and adrenaline.
