Shadowbane
First of all, this game is absolutely worth playing if you are into oldschool PvP MMOs. No other game allows such in-depth character customization. Sandbox elements are present but are not annoying to the end of being “chop trees to gather lumber”. “Sandbox” here is actually building cities and demolishing your enemies' cities in sieges, hiring AI mercenaries to craft items which is another good part of this game, crafting isn’t about gathering 10 dragon scales and 1 mummy dust by repetitively killing monsters, it’s more about having mercenaries of right races placed in your forges and having resources from right zones in general, even city building (if you happen to own / manage one) is as simple as placing the building on the city grid and waiting several hours for it to go up in one click.

Overall an exceptionally poor experience.
So why do I have so many hours you ask? 1) nostalgia and 2) I played with friends, but neither of those points are positives to the game in particular. And also do not be mistaken, for an RPG 80% of this playtime was sitting afk while leeching experience from macro-bots which is what everyone uses.
So this game is mislabeled as a PVP title. It isn’t. It’s actually a zerg v zerg title and those battles are decided by sheer numbers. If it was a pvp game, you’d have skills which synergize with each other to allow for good and creative builds. Builds which later you can learn to play and get better as you get more accustomed to playing your toon. Not the case here. At first glance you have SO many races, professions and disciplines to combine that the options eem endless…until you realize that every profession has no more than 2 ways to build it if you want to be in any way viable. Yes, you CAN be a minotaur that uses unarmed fighting, except due to weapon skill restrictions (built into the races) and stat caps you’ll never be more than 20% of the strength of a proper polearm minotaur.

Gord
Lead the people of the Tribe of the Dawn as they venture deep into forbidden lands. Complete quests that shape their personalities, impact their wellbeing, and decide the fate of their community. Ensure the survival of your populace in a grim fantasy world inspired by Slavic folklore.
Erect palisades, develop structures, and grow your gord from a humble settlement to a formidable fortress. However, expansion won’t be easy! Your population is constantly at risk from enemy tribes, gruesome monsters, and mysterious powers that lurk in the surrounding woods.
Venture outside the walls of your settlement with Gord’s AI-driven quest system, ensuring a huge variety of challenges to take on. The Scenario’s main objectives will guide your gameplay, while versatile side quests and random encounters will send you off into the wilderness to hunt down legendary creatures, uncover secrets about the Ancients, or vanquish a nasty scourge. Expect the unexpected.
Set the stage by choosing from a wide range of Scenario options, and try to emerge victorious. Take it easy or set an impossible challenge; almost anything can be adjusted! Choose from a variety of primary objectives, select the level size, the intensity of raids, the environment you’ll play in, the types of enemies you’ll face, starting resources, and even the severity of weather. Of course, don’t forget the Horrors.
A healthy populace is the key to survival in Gord. Every aspect of your settlers’ lives - from illness and hunger to the death of their kin - can impact each subject’s Sanity and Burden levels. Keep a close eye on them, as once they reach a critical point your subject will suffer from a breakdown or even flee your rule.
Please the Gods with your prayers and they may give you access to their spellcasting abilities. Incantations vary in nature - some are offensive while others are defensive - but they all help to tip the battlefield in your favor. Conceal areas from your enemies, gain control over threatening beasts, or turn an unholy rage against all who dare to oppose you.
The Chronicle explains the history of the Gord universe that blends real-world Slavic mythology with dark fantasy. Pages torn from The Chronicle will be scattered throughout the game’s landscapes, giving dedicated players an additional challenge of discovery. Collecting as many pages as possible will provide insight into the origins of the Gods, ancient factions, and the mystical Whisperers.

Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition
First let me state I am presenting a general view of this game. Inevitably, while I will strive to be objective, subjective elements can not be eliminated. Kingdom Wars 2 Definitive Edition is that very rare beast, a Fantasy, Real Time Strategy War game. There are 3 main races Humans, Elves, Orcs and arguably a fourth, namely the Dwarfs, who are embedded within the rosters of the Humans and the Elves.
The races play very differently as they have very different economic dependencies and structures. These differences imposes concomitantly different strategies on the player depending on race choice. More complexity is added due to the Rock, Paper, Scissors characteristic of the units. Each unit is very effective against certain opposing units and similarly very vulnerable or mediocre in relation to others. In addition there is a quite extensive Tech-tree and considerably crafting possibilities. There is a learning curve, but once comprehended, the game is easily accessible. I prefer to play Skirmish games, either alone, or with a computer partner. I have just played my first skirmish game at hard level and won. In addition, over the last 2 weeks I have tried the Zombie Survival Challenge and found it to be very exciting. I only wish that it was possible to discover their spawning points and destroy them. I am only now using the Crypt building to spawn undead units and the Dragon Menagerie building to spawn dragons. The use of these facilities have greatly aided my strategic options and contributed to my victory at hard level. I do not consider myself to be a proficient player but after a slow start I began to enjoy the game more and more after each play session.

I’ve been a fan of RTS games from a super young age. Started playing Age of empires on that old white windows 98 pc with a thick CRT monitor. Eventually moving up to that sweet new Dell xp that could run Stronghold, the Warcrafts, Empire Earth, etc. This game brings back those good ole days for me. It has similar mechanics to those staple real time strategy games except it does everything on a massive scale. It tickles that fancy I always had for base building and commanding a large amount of troops.

Collect resources from the environment using various building structures. Upgrade them to make buildings more efficient.

Keep your army and settlers morale high, your people happy, healthy, and well-fed. Good town layout, smart task assignment and planning ahead will help you greatly.
Plan ahead as changing weather and seasons will require different solutions. In winter you will have trouble finding food, in rain and fog it will be difficult to spot the enemy, and in summer you will have to face the problem of water shortage.

DISCOVER THE STORY OF SHADOWS
In 1038 a gateway appeared out of nowhere from which all sorts of nightmares started to crawl out. Vast numbers of determined and fearful warriors stood against the army of darkness. They fought and died in huge numbers. The Evil was stopped but… never defeated. Now… they are back.
Discover who or what they are. Look for their weak spots as every shadow has strengths as well as weaknesses. Find the best way to defeat them.
FACE RANDOM EVENT SYSTEM
Each game becomes unique due to random events. Many situations will require your attention. Both those seemingly trivial as well as those affecting the fate of the entire garrison. Take them wisely, as the consequences of some may become apparent only after time. And by then, it may already be too late!

EDIT: Warning: Game has been abandoned by the developer. Game is still good (multiplayer’s a wreck) but there’s not much hope for bug fixes and additional QoL/features.
The last development news was posted October 30, 2019 … then two months later (December 21, 2019 ):
“As you might have noticed, I was kinda inactive the past two months - this was mainly due to real life and the game not being as successful as I would have wished :frowning: I can’t promise when I’ll be back…”

Game is surprisingly good! Its a mix between RTS, Tower defense, and most importantly… Its a zombie game!!! Its stupidly simple for beginners and shockingly hard if you want to get to those higher waves! Although there is one thing that’s bothering me about it. The spawner boss zombie, says it in the name, it spawns zombies. But, it also has an electric arc that hits multiple buildings. And that electric arc that’s whats bothering me! Why does it have a electric arc? Its a boss that should only spawn zombies and to me, it really hurts newer players that make it to wave 50. I’ve made to a high wave and that one particular zombie is the bane of this game. It completely disrupts game-play as you frantically figure out a way to stop it. Although I’ve only 12 hours clocked into this game (as of posting this review). this one time i got a seed (or map..? Its unclear on what’s its supposed to be.) that had a crystal mine but could only place 1 crystal miner by it, due to it being mostly in the fog. If those issues don’t bother you, all the more power to you! Overall, this game is a mix of different genres, has great game-play, has few glaring issues, definitively a solid 4.5 out of 5, and the dev team working on this made a game worthy of your $7. Go pick it up and see how far you can make it! or if you’re on a browser, go see the game for yourself for FREE! Safe travels zombie killers!
