A knock-off of Battle Chess for all intents and purposes. Cheaper, though. Worth a try.

Goldenjar Fall

Can’t wait to see this game in finished form. The early access dazzled me with amazing level design, the enemies look great and the boss fight at the end was really fun and challenging. Can’t wait to see what comes next.

A fast paced hack and slash with beautiful levels and a creepy atmosphere that left me wanting more. Will look forward to full release!

Axilon: Legend of Artifacts - Prologue

Axilon: Legend of Artifacts - Prologue

Ok, so after playing through this three times i think some words can be said.

At first do not expect a game in an early state. It feels more like a Techdemo with a rough concept and if you judge it with this fact in mind, you get something quite enjoyable for a half an hour.

Overall you have three levels, each different with setting and the graphic is quite nice.

The combat system can be frustrating cause it feels clonky, same with the overall movement but if you can get behind the flaws and check how to avoid damage (the shield depressed me, just step back and attack after enemys swingy swings) it is ok and playable.

Buckle up it’s going to be long review.

First of I have been following this developer group - AzDimension for a while and right of the gate I wanna say - guys focus on one game, your team is small already and it shows in quality of games.

Now for the Axilon. I played game in English and Azerbaijani versions.

Positives
  • Actually nice for what is essentially basic demo MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

  • Graphics are pretty looking but cave seems huge downgrade except for rocks inside

Battal Gazi: Stone of Yada

Battal Gazi: Stone of Yada

The Stone of Yada which gives enormous power to its possessors has broken into four pieces. Kill every enemy in front of you, capture Yada Guards, and bring these pieces together one by one to obtain that power.

Epic Boss Fights

To bring Stone of Yada together, you should kill the bosses who possess the pieces of it. Every piece you captured brings new skills to you.

Different Combat Styles

You can build your character the way you want by using the experience points you gained by killing enemies. Fight as fast as samurai or hit as strong as a knight, the choice is yours.

Exploration

Explore every corner of the map to find secret items like hidden armors giving unique bonuses. Every armor has cons and pros letting you build your character the way you want.

Burn The Witch

Burn The Witch

Something about this concept appealed to me, and I took a gamble despite not really liking PvP games.

This is launch day, and there’s a lack of immediate players. I feel like Burn the Witch has been priced out of impulse buy range, and especially out of “buy a copy for a friend” range which would have benefited it hugely.

After a while I found a lobby with two other players, and it was a fun ten minute diversion. I’m not sure if the sense of paranoia causes people to just attack on sight, or if they just didn’t understand the objective. The game doesn’t seem to work well with small groups, since killing at random is a 50/50 chance of a win anyway.

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale

King Arthur: Knight’s Tale

What can I say. As far as EA go (I have played extensively BG3 164.4 hrs, and Solasta 64hrs EA), that this is well worth the money for what it gives you as a taster. 77,4 hours played? Sure feels a hell of a load more than that.

The rolling cinematic is amazing, gripping and you want to skip past it just to get to starting the game, but it’s so freaking amazing. When can they make a movie out of it? Hah

The story is Mordred (you) went on a rampage across Avalon destroying and corrupting everything he could, raising a huge evil army and eventually coming face to face with the legend that is King Arthur. After an epic battle, Arthur manages to lance you in one, but being the badass Mordred is, he pulls himself across the lance in order to deal a killing blow to Arthur. Game over for the both.

In general, fun game, if a little slight atmo. Assuming it gets discounted from the price of the full game when it comes out, £27 is a little steep but not too bad for what you get. I ended up playing 24 hours to complete the game (with crashes and restarts cos I couldn’t pause & save).

PROS:

  • There’s just enough tactical nuance in the fights to keep it interesting.

  • Skill tree is nice - an interesting set of options and a clever way of setting them out.

  • Rune system as weapon/armour upgrades is also nice. I like the way that you often have to do trade-offs (eg. do I accept less overall damage to get +2 Bleed, which will stack with Mordred’s Bleed skill).
