Suits: A Business RPG
ENGLISH:
Instead of translating my French review, this will do: Suits is an amazing RPG. From the “lore”, to the battles, to the black-and-white universe, to the humor and the characters. I had a blast playing it, getting the achievements, and I’ll do another playthrough often.

This has been a little game I had under my radar for a while mainly because I like RPG Maker games and the business theme looks pretty interesting. Plus it had a similar art style to OFF and while OFF was okay, it’s art was pretty interesting. So is it good?
Story:
In a world where corporations run rampant, companies can bribe to get what they want. women are treated as mere plants that look pretty and the mere act of refusing a product is enough to land you in jail. In this world, you live as a simple drone until events happen that put you in an adventure that might change the world.

The Window Box
Beautiful and wonderfully written. If you enjoy visual novels this is definitely for you.
Visually alone, this game is incredibly stunning and unique. For me personally I find most visual novels fall flat in this category so it’s refreshing to see a new take on it.
Storywise, I was never bored or felt like “yeah okay whatever” so I feel like I got my moneys worth alone for this.
It’s definitely much different than any other visual novel I’ve played, various themes and concepts are discussed in an interesting way. Some things I felt personally connected to and that’s not something I’ve experienced much in a video game at all, let alone a visual novel.

The Window Box by Sundew Studios is a dark comedic visual novel about five college friends catching up. This point-and-click game allows you to find out more about the girls’ back story while solving puzzles and discovering the dark truth about Elsa’s new life. Is any of these strange twists real or is the stress of relationships, work, and the prospects of having a baby driving these women insane?
Being a visual novel, the first thing I usually notice is the art style and music. Since games like this have very limited gameplay, those two things are very important. With that being said, I really enjoyed the music in The Window Box. I felt that it fit the tone of the game very well but wasn’t too distracting. I did also enjoy the art style. The characters reminded me of fashion designs and sketches. They were all unique and had their own personality, just based on their designs alone. The backgrounds and objects in the game were really pretty as well. The tone of the whole art style really fit the dark whimsy aesthetic they were going for.

Roombo: First Blood
Roombo: First Blood follows a small but technologically advanced household appliance tasked to eliminate and organize filth. This mostly occurs after its owner has suddenly left home, for unknown reasoning, and the house goes from being totally quiet to a loudly invasion by vast perpetrators. Although the intelligent robot is small, it’s entirely devoted to assuring the owner’s household remains intact but also safe from potential threats that become progressively challenging.
The game begins with a short controller tutorial that’s actually less required since players are able to utilize them quickly. Each stage is divided into sections, all entirely in one household, giving them freedom to explore while also maintaining extensive use of the environment as self-defense. The controls are easily useful against foes and offer rather remarkably innovative tactics to thrive each mission as they become tougher and require more strategy. In each stage, players are given simple objectives involving eliminating enemies, cleaning messes, all while thoroughly surviving with the robot’s very limited health and defense actions.

TL;DR
Zoom zoom, doom.
Graphics
The graphics in this game are adorable, It’s vibrant and colourful without it hurting your eyes. There’s no UI clutter, it’s neatly tucked on the edges and the colours/design do not look out-of-place at all.
Gameplay
There isn’t too much going on with the gameplay. However it makes you feel like you are doing more than you are and that’s.. Well because you are! Here you are, using your keyboard or left stick to drive your little roomba around, pre-planning traps to seal the fates of thieves while at the same time, giving the floor a good S-U Double C . There are multiple different devices and objects to use/hack. Other than that, there isn’t too much gameplay but you can HONK …Beep..? Bonk!

Cubic Currency
A charming indie game with character. Hot take on capitalism
pros:
-
excellent worldbuilding
-
immersive experience: soundtrack, sound effects, and art are very well done
-
fun and nuanced gameplay that keeps you coming back
-
balances randomness and skill well
-
well planned achievements
cons:
-
seems a little too easy (i’ve won each of my first 3 runs without many difficulties) – let capitalism be more brutal! (or, have different difficulty settings–that’s probably a better way to do it)
-
as far as i can tell, there isn’t “save game” functionality? either that or it’s not intuitive how to use it. could be a nice thing to add

Full Disclosure. I bought this game at 90% off. It was less than a dollar, so at that price i really can’t complain for myself.
Now if you buy it at full price, it might be a little short for that price tag as I finished it in just over 3 hours. The game has enough elements to make some days/levels a bit intense, especially with the last character. Which is good because without the juggling of customers and the negative dice types, the game would be waaay too easy. And if you want to achievement hunt the game to 100% then you’ll probably get maybe an extra hour or two of gameplay.

This is a really good game. The story is unmatched amongst any game I’ve ever seen and very thought out. I loved the music which accompanied me in each uniquely designed level. The enemies you encounter are perfectly balanced and you actually become stronger throughout the levels. When I heard there was another part of this game series I immediately knew I had to get it. Luckily a friend gifted me “Putin kills: Coronavirus” just like this amazing title before that.
However, there is one negative critique. After I reached level 6 and fought my way through terrorists, robots and viruses, I stumbled upon a problem. The map didn’t work and only showed a black picture. And then I noticed something: There was no way out of level 6. I checked every room and even drew my own map in paint, you cannot leave level 6. So if anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.

A Chamber of Stars
Each person has a universe inside of them.
A personal universe with characters influenced by the observable reality around them. Your friends, the fans, the local shop clerk, each person you pass without giving pause is another universe. You make up a story about them, they form a story about you. The universes expand.
I always wonder how similar our universes can be. You and I. Will I ever be able to pierce through and present myself, my real self, or will the information be lost in translation? The thing rattling around in our heads can’t be all that different. We both still get choked up over the same melodies, it’s only human to do so, right?
Maybe, if you would like it, I could play something for you. Lord knows your songs are still rattling around in my head.
The singularly named Starr, an enigmatic performer, guitarist and songwriter, has somehow survived the constant shifting tide of the musical landscape. Decade after decade, this artist has remained relevant in culture’s eye. After multiple personas, genre manipulations and controversies, the public is still buzzing. “What will Starr do next?” The rumors say their upcoming album will be the fated magnum opus…
A Chamber of Stars is the sequel to 2018’s The Endless Empty. Through six unique worlds the life of the rock n’ roll hero, Starr, will be pieced together. Exploration, choices and performances will change the course of a life and will alter the songs that are produced. A Chamber of Stars will feature a mix of classic adventure games, puzzle solving and unique rhythm game performances all within a fully realized surrealist universe.
Nothing heavenly or divine; just filthy mortal music here.
Alexey’s Winter: Night adventure
I enjoyed playing this short point and click game. The hand drawn scenes have a great sense of place and the snow gives shivery cold feeling so I really felt sorry for the main character locked out of his apartment. The music was a good match for the game. The dialogue was very funny and endearing.
I had a small technical problem with my computer before I could play this game but the devs were really helpful and responsive so that the game works as it should now.
I hope the developers add some more episodes as I would definitely play them.

Alexey’s Winter: Night adventure is a very short point & click adventure set in the 1989’s USSR. The game was initially launched in 2017 on the mobile platform and gained positive feedback from the players. At a later date, it received a second episode (and as of Sep 26 2021 a third one) and underwent several design changes. This version was now ported to Steam as a paid item, while the mobile one remains free but was reverted back to one episode only.
The story follows Alexey’s troubles during one cold winter night, trying to get back his lost apartment keys. After a series of intricate puzzles he manages to regain access to his home, only to find out that in the meantime his TV was stolen. This sets the plot for the second and third episodes, which are slightly longer than the first one.
