Death Cathedral

Death Cathedral

Death Cathedral is a very challenging action RPG with tons of strategy elements.

You’ll need to build a powerful army of the living dead with enemies' flesh and bones within 15 days to kill the devil lurking in the deep end of the cathedral.

The battles in Death Cathedral contain not only realistic sword fighting, but also dashing and gorgeous skills. Parry, dodge, or roll - cope with different attacks in various ways. Observe and master your skills during combats and keep confronting stronger opponents.

A wide collection of characters:

More than 40 playable characters, each with a large number of well-designed and extremely vigorous attack actions.

Decay system:

You are controlling corpses of flesh and bones sticked together with black magic. Every exploration increases the decay of the body. The dead warrior collapses when the decay reaches 100%. The increase in decay is irreversible and you can only reduce the increase by applying “preservatives”. Be aware of the team selection ahead of every run!

Roster building:

You’ll constantly lose your warriors due to the decay process. But on the other hand, you’ll be able to create new corpses with flesh and bones of the defeated enemies. This means that you won’t be able to lay back and win easily with the same team over and over again. In order to lead the team forward, you will have to adapt to changes and achieve dynamic balance.

Resource management:

There’re all kinds of resources to accquire in Death Cathedral, which are essential for exploration. However, you can’t always have it all. You need to understand what’s really urgent and make your choices accordingly.

Unforseeable adventure:

You will encounter not only enemies but also facilities to aid you, and make you pay at the same time. Be aware not to backfire yourself by interacting in wrong scenarios.

Countless equipments:

Equipments offer not only boost to attributes, they also grant powerful specialties to your warriors. To make full use of the specialties, your lineup, enemy’s attributes, the area and many factors are under consideration. Specialties may also affect the items and facilities you use.

Immersive atmosphere:

Six distinctive areas can be explored, offering a solemn and dark medieval fantasy landscape.

Grim Dawn

This is one of the best Action RPGs ever made.

You will not regret buying this, especially on discount which occurs pretty often.

The developer, Crate entertainment, supports this game even now, even when everyone thought the game reached its pinnacle of updates and polishing, there was a patch with tons of pages of fixes & changes for the better recently.

No microtransactions, no stealthy practices, this developer is simply what every other developer should be. And every expansion is massive and adds tons of content for the price.

To me the most atmosphereic of the ARPG games. I am weird but I just was never into D2 very much and I had the disk version and got the missing DLL bug after about 6 months..

But back to GD. Of course there is a grind. And I use that word properley because you are gonna have to do the same areas more than once to handle other areas. not too bad though. The sound is great, I LOVE the music but some dont. The effects are top notch imo. The graphics are gorgeous imo. But I dont own any next gen games so…

The game is fun. The Graphics are nice. You can remap your keys and there are a lot of setting for the graphics. Just one question. where are the maps? I can only play one map, the tank map. In your game video it shows more than one map. There are some menu bugs. Also I find the run speed a little slow it would help to pick up the games pace if the run speed is faster. There is also too much recoil on the guns. But all and all the game is pretty good. I would recommend this game to others but not just yet. Hopefully these issues will be addressed. For the price it is worth it if it becomes more polished.

Prepare for your mission by planning your loadout. With over 30 arrows to craft, experimentation is key to your success! Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Ys IX - Monstrum Nox does not reach the level of masterpiece that is Ys VIII - Lacrimosa of Dana, but it is still a solid, great fun adventure to dive in, and a good stopping point to look back, reflect on how far the series has evolved before the next stage.

For newcomers, I think you should wait for sales, for the price to properly reflects its quality, as you pay more than VIII yet receive lesser. But Ys fans? Well, it’s up to your generosity whether to hit it now or later.

Final Score is 8.5/10 – Great

I cannot not recommend this.

1- It’s a Falcom Game and all their games are labours of love.

2- It’s the next installment of the Ys franchise and Ys is the Gold standard for Action-Adventure Games. That means it’s got fast-paced combat, exploration and a ton of quality of life stuff to keep you from getting bored.

3- The Falcom Sound Team jdk have another fantastic music score, check out their Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCz7eke4JGlbtc11_6mmA7ew

It’s free, give it a shot! However, there are so many alternatives in this genre that are well established titles and also free or next to free that I would give Divilixa a lot longer in development before committing serious time to it.

Some feedback:

  • Make it so that the player can just hold the left mouse button down to attack instead of clicking over and over

  • Take a little time to edit the models so that there isn’t a white background to the player character and enemies (it looks like everything was drawn on Post-It notes, scanned, and uploaded into the game)

omg greed game

I was hoping for a decent hack’n’slash. This game, however, is a soulslike wannabe. Combat is stamina-based, and your stamina bar is big enough for a few rolls and a hit, so you are rolling constantly, and then waiting for the bar to recharge- there’s no flow to the combat. There’s a target lock feature, but it only locks the camera on the enemy- the MC doesn’t automatically face the enemy, and you strike whenever you are facing, so this can lead to some frustration, There’s the option to block, but in my experience this just drains your stamina quickly, and then you start taking damage-though maybe there’s a parry window I wasn’t hitting. There are 4 tutorial prompts in the opening level, but I could only read 2 of them, because you’re forced to fight immediately and non-stop, so it’s possible I missed some game mechanics info. Your health items do replenish after beating certain enemies, so that’s a plus, at least. The fact that you can lose some health just from bumping into an enemy, or get hit even when they are attacking forward and you are directly behind them is not so nice.

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but in its current state, it’s not worth the price. Really hope the developer continues to work on it and patch out all the nasty bugs.

Real player with 3.6 hrs in game

This game is great! The combat system, torch mechanics, traps, potions and enemies make the overall experience both thrilling and enjoyable. My played time is ~1.2hr, which is how long it took me to beat the game. That’s over several attempts. In reality, an experienced player could likely beat this game in 15 minutes or less.

! There are only two levels for this whole game.

The developer should really consider doubling or tripling the number of areas to explore. If not entire new levels, maybe smaller off shoots from main areas? In this regard, this game would benefit lots from Steam Workshop support. I would also like to see a slight increase in visible light radius and more weapons (the entire time I’ve only seen a crowbar). A way to exit the game beyond ALT+F4 or force closing would also be nice. That said, I still think this game deserves a positive review – just don’t buy this thinking you’re getting a huge world to explore.
