Lethal Running
Put it on your wishlist, and wait until the bugs are fixed.
There’s a solid game underneath here, but because the game is very tough, the bugs create a lot of frustration:
-
Sometimes, the UI just doesn’t work – buttons can’t be clicked, or it freezes. Especially in the crafting menus. I ran into at least 4 variations of this, including the screen being greyed out as though a system menu was up.
-
Sometimes, the game will crash upon retry or when changing sectors.
-
When you retry, or continue (e.g. after a crash), often your armor and scanner are unequipped, or the mods are, which easily goes unnoticed until you get one-shot by a hunter’s pistol.

Writing in 10/29/2021 (DURING ALPHA) if you are reading this much later then the date of writing take everything wtih a grain of salt.
I hate to give this game a bad review as i anticipated since its prologue and the art style and atmosphere are on point, but this game feels far from a functional build.
Wile i understand this is an alpha version i think even that was kind of rushed, as the game braking bugs and glitches are only comparable to a Bethesda game, further more it the ui can be annoying particularly when repairing items, shopping, and some of the systems are really underdeveloped, for example if you are taking its from a physical resource like a tree or buying items with out having the appropriate inventory space they won’t drop down or tell you you are overburdened and can’t walk, they will instead disappear into nothingness.

Object detection is poor. I kept not picking up the plates and failing (even though I should have picked up the plates perfectly).

UPDATED Review 4/10/2021: Wow! This is a ton of fun. I had some prior grievances with some of the choices made with gameplay that were making the game very hard to enjoy for me. I voiced my concerns in my review, and the devs (small, indie dev team) responded very quickly to address some of those concerns. The devs are very receptive to feedback and appreciate hearing from their community, and it seems like they care about their product after seeing the most recent updates.
The gameplay is a lot of fun! It’s a bit of a combo of Crazy Taxi, Quarantine, and Carmageddon with slight influences from other media as well. If you’ve played Quarantine, you’ll notice the inspiration, but trust me, the devs are working hard to make this their own game! You will find yourself driving around a crazy, chaotic, and relatively apocalyptic city with bad guys and pedestrians on the road, turrets, other cabs/vehicles, and more. You are picking up fares, some of which need to go somewhere, others want you to kill someone or blow up a vehicle, and others want you to blow up a building (similar to dropping someone off at a destination, except with more explosions!). There may be more fare types in later districts that I haven’t gotten to yet, but I am satisfied with the fare types that are already in the game.

Cool indie game! Some stuff heavily resembles Quarantine or Road Warrior, but there are some major differences. Even despite the fact that the game has some bugs, the devs update it all time - a lot of stuff was fixed in recent patches.
Pros and cons below.
PROS:
-
positive vibe;
-
unique atmosphere somewhat reminds the old Quarantine classic;
-
nice effects and gore system;
-
excellent music!
-
driving model is not that bad at all,
-
cool weapons!
CONS:
- some missions look bland and could be a bit better;

In A Nutshell
🔵 Pros
-
Good sci-fi setting with believable atmosphere and feeling to it.
-
Realistic environment and temperature simulation.
-
Some innovative twists to the sandbox crafting system contribute in keeping it fresh.
-
Promising crafting / base building system with potential to become extensively complex and deep.
🔴 Cons
-
Problems with object placement / usage of several items, just not working at times.
-
Crafting balance is quite off, with materials being too abundant most of the time, making the experience easy.

P.A.M.E.L.A.®
I have noticed a few “Not Recommended” reviews based on the game not running on some people’s systems, ,,, I haven’t encountered that problem with this game as my specs meet the “Recommended” criteria. Not recommending a game based on one’s personal system capabilities seems to imply a sixth-sense that it will not run on anyone’s system. Since the game clearly states that it is still being developed and it does run very well on my system (Intel core i7 4790K-GTX 970 GPU-16Gb RAM), I will base my review on that.

TLDR
A very beautiful, futuristic open world with lots of rooms to explore and loot items from for hours on end filled with various bugs and glitchy zombies that barely pose a threat to you, encapsulated by a hard-to-complete, half-baked story line that leaves you shaking your head at the end. You can also forget about getting 60FPS on anything higher than 1080p with the graphics on low for this game due to memory leaks and bad optimization. This game is far from “just out of early access” considering the many bugs, performance issues and literally hard-to-follow storyline.

Cyberforge: First Light
EDIT 3 DEC 2020:
There was a game update yesterday and it seems like the developer is listening to input from his audience, which is awesome because this game does not need much in the way of mechanics and balance. The enemies are harder, the variety of enemies is greater, you can tell your characters to hold still, and here is a video of gameplay!
ORIGINAL:
In my book, Cyberforge: First Light is a top notch example of what early access should look like. It’s very well polished and, depending on what other levels are added, very close to being 100% complete. The mechanics are smooth, although there needs to be some balancing, and gameplay is fluid with just a couple of bugs (that I found).

TLDR: Very good game for early access.
My only real critique is a bug report. At first I thought that more rooms haven’t been designed yet, but I’m on my third run so far and the same room keeps repeating, even though I know different ones exist that I’ve been in before, so there may be a small bug with rooms repeating.
In terms of what the game has to offer its a very good rogue like with good strategy and fun puzzles, and It’s very fun to get good at.

Sphere - Flying Cities
Ok, so let me preface this review by saying that I am only giving it a thumbs up because I want the game to succeed, and it looks like the devs are listening to feedback. For example, there was a patch on day 2 to address a complaint that most people had (not a bug fix, but a mechanic change). There is a foundation for what could be a really fun game, and a different take on the genre; at least I have yet to play anything exactly like it. As others have said, it does give off Frostpunk vibes, and I think it feels a little like Surviving Mars as well; both of which are games I really enjoy.

Updated 16/10
Ive left my original somewhat negative review below, but after a significant developer update today, thought id jump back in and my what a difference a few days makes. Almost all the original issues have been resolved making this a good fun solid game. Wonderful to see that a large amount of work appears to have gone into resolving the initial round of issues. I cant find any major issues at this point now, and have changed my review to recommend and now believe you can play and have fun for a considerable time. Minor issues to tweak dont affect much and Road map forward looks interesting indeed. Hats off to the developers on this one.
