Synthetic Lover

Synthetic Lover

In the year 2066, biologically engineered humanoids—‘biots’—make up a large percentage of the workforce.

The protagonist is one such biot and, like the rest of his colleagues, he lives to serve a single purpose: to fulfill his pre-programmed vocation. In his case, that is to be a companion in an adult entertainment center known as Dollhouse.

Servants exist as lifeless dolls until activated upon request, a biot’s self-awareness and free will are sealed off by design. That is how the protagonist’s days go until crossing paths with an opportunistic thief and a mysterious device in his possession…

Synthetic Lover is a sci-fi story about an individual who discovers the challenges of being human. During his journey, he navigates through the ups and downs of an imperfect life while trying to avoid conflict with a powerful organization, learning to understand emotions, forming friendships, and possibly finding love along the way.

All Walls Must Fall - A Tech-Noir Tactics Game

A great game that just needs a bit more polish. If you liked xcom or syndicate (old school) youll probably love this game.

This game has a few levels to it.

The first level is a great shooter/ and minimal rogue or semi-RPG with time travel mechanics. Some of the firefights can be intense and complex strategizing your twisting of time between hailstorms of bullets allowing one man to wipe out an army.

Its not terribly deep on the surface likly because they didnt get the funds to make the game its full intended length (west germany as well as east germany). I do not regret any time spent, or not spent in this game. (yes its a bad joke since at the time of writing this I have the world record of completing the entire game in 1 minute 29 seconds… time travel accounted for=).

A masterpiece ruined by retard downvoters, small minded casual homophobic cry babies.

I got this game during early access, did a first run but messed the first 3 tutorial missions,

earning low money and getting stuck on harder missions because with low money you can’t upgrade much.

Now that the game is published I did a serious run, nailed the tutorial missions and also unticking the ‘decision timer’ option,

which allows you to think about each move without losing time (time = money).

After those 3 missions you get access to the map, where you can select your next mission.

This game is a ton of fun, I’ll tell you what! You’re able to customize your character pretty well and the characters are great, in my opinion, and engaging enough that it keeps you guessing. I had a hunch about one of them, but then I thought I was wrong, with the direction the story was taken. Later, I found out I was right, and it felt like I was in one of those detective shows. It’s also well-written, and the universe created for it is pretty solid. All in all, it’s a great deal of fun, and it’s easily replayable! This is the sort of choose your own adventure game I like to see from Choice of Games. I highly recommend this game.

Well written as some sort of short polar story, but not as a choice novel. Choices are really limited, the branching is obvious and once you made one choice you’re quite of forced to stick to all choices similar to that one “skill choice” you made at the beginning. The story is very linear and there is very little differences in the writings or in the story based on your choices. Same can be told about the endings : very little variations. Well written, but not really a choice novel, more like a short kinetic linear novel. Enjoyable, but I would not recommend it because there are’nt really anything specific here and it’s not free.

Technobabylon

‘Once you trust a self-driving car with your life, you pretty much will trust Artificial Intelligence with anything.’ - Dave Waters

Technobabylon is a gaming experience that, like most Cyberpunk themes, offers up the ideal escapist environment where you can swim deeply in the waves of futuristic possibilities yet never once feel the illusion dissolve into rational disbelief. I was able to be carried along by the plot’s varying themes of: an AI-controlled society complete with hackers striving to break down the barriers, a world of terrorism, an environment where virtual escapism into the Trance is an essential way of living all intermixed with scientific research aimed at breaking beyond the next evolving stages.

–———————————————————————————————-

After many years of gaming, I have decided to start making reviews about games, so here goes one for this game in a detailed fashion. I tried to gather as many hours of gameplay to view all the possible outcomes and finish the achievements. Since I dont want to spoil the fun of actually playing the game, I will try to keep it at a minimum, while providing useful insight about my experience.

So, when it comes to cyberpunk I become super mad. Guess the main reason is because I was grown on all these movies and stylish shows and synthwave music, in one word all these main cyberpunk components. Plus, I really appreciate the whole idea of the cyberpunk and all this aesthetic is pretty much addictive.

And now, everytime I hear some cyberpunk games are about to release I feel like “yeaaah, an amazing content is here!” and insta buy it. Sadly, lot of games disappointed me or were boring as hell, but on another hand, there are still cool products on the market.

Aerannis

Aerannis

Aerannis is a Metroidvania platformer set in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv. With the rest of the world having been more or less destroyed and depopulated, what remains in Plovdiv is a dystopian and authoritarian post-revolutionary society in which all men have been forced to transition to women through hormone replacement therapy, and are for this reason discriminated against by the populace and government at large, being negatively denoted as “Snowflakes” The game sees you take control of Ceyda Fahri, an assassin, and more or less focuses around Cedya’s plight as a hired gun in Plovdiv.

This is why we can’t have nice things.

So, funny story. I saw the KS for Aerannis and thinking hey, dystopian metroidvania w/a trans lady protagonist? :allears: ….but I couldn’t back it at the time, so I forgot about it til I stumbled onto a 50% off coupon. Pretty soon I heard vague iffy things and that V ETHICAL BACKER CONTENT got shoved into the game and i suddenly got suuuuper apprehensive about my purchase, but i figured hey, i should at least give it a chance, right?

NOPE WRONG

This is a post-feminist dystopia where “listen and believe” (as in the Anita Sarkeesian quote - ‘one of the most radical things you can do is to actually believe women when they tell you about their experiences’) shows up in the same cycle of wackyyyy turbofeminist dystopian PSAs as “CAREFUL, MEN EXIST” and “zero tolerance, zero thought, it’s so easy” and something about trangst.

Cardinal Cross

Cardinal Cross

Well, the game is done good enough: various backgrounds, wide range of sprites, a lot of CG, adjustable text size, and I hadn’t any technical issues while playing. However that’s … all.

Music is nice, but not catching, sometimes CGs feel like depicting some other characters rather than sprites, and the writing is plain.

And, for me, text and plot is the reason game is boring. It consists of just dialogs that are mainly factual and serve only to drive the plot. So that results in, first, quite schematical characters to whom I didn’t manage to get any attached, second, lack of depth in relations between characters. And romance options, in their turn, give out the impression that they are put into just because of “it has to be in such game, so we added it”.

I’ve loved Impqueen/Rinmaru since I first played Ascension several years ago. I was eagerly awaiting the release of her next game, whatever it might be, and she definitely didn’t let me down.

Now, if you were expecting something exactly like Ascension, that’s not what this is. For one thing, the overall technical quality has gone up, the graphics, user interface, and overall way the game runs has improved by leaps and bounds. For another, while Ascension was a fantasy story with a heavy romantic component while Cardinal Cross is a sci-fi thriller with a lighter romantic component.
