“The notion that nature can be calculated inevitably leads to the conclusion that humans too can be reduced to basic mechanical parts…”

So, we’re here now. This is a really neat game that’s flourished over the years.

I’m going to start this by saying I’m on the writing staff, but I’ve been testing the game much longer than I’ve had my hands in it and so far my contributions are somewhat limited. My work on this is a recent development so, yeah. Now, I’ve been testing one version or another of this game off and on since 2016 through its alpha, really knuckling down with its steam beta. But since we’re here now, lets get on with this and actually talk about the game.

The approach to how Action points are managed in universe is farsical.

Not only does it make no sense in the story or how the game world operates

There is certain actions that can be done for free but to reverse them costs action points

Action points you need to pay real money for or wait 10 minutes a pop for.

So say you put a goodie bag of Drugs together, 200 pills for 0 Action points, say you want to get some of those back, because you just got an event where you can give soemone 20 of those drugs for another dialogue option.

One of the best of his kind

Pros

  • Free2play, no clickbait

  • something like 50 dance moves

  • you can jump very high

Cons

  • no free camera movement

  • horrible lighting, should be customizable

  • Only one map

  • There is only 1 sound effect (when you move over buttons)

and no music at all.

I would love to see a more detailed character customization

The map offers enough space for dozens of players!

The Singularity Trials

The Singularity Trials

The Year is 2345.. The Solar Council is in Session. Tasked with creating a lasting tribute to honour all who had perished during The Singularity War.

The Singularity Trials was Born

  • Battle your way through the Solar System.

  • Unique landscapes and faction strongholds.

  • Delve in to the Data Archives to discover a deep interconnect history between the Factions.

Story Prologue

The atrocities committed in Turing City, Titan, created shock waves across the Nexus.

Theta Corporations home system had been infiltrated by Earth Purists, determined to purge the solar system from the ‘abomination’ of the Nexus Mind, The single most Intelligent Sentient AI mind born of the Singularity.

This event became a catalyst for the 1st Interplanetary war that ravaged through the Solar System.

For 30 years. Millions of souls perished into the cold vacuum of space.

It was to become forever known as ‘The Singularity War’

The Nexus Mind offered a gift in exchange for peace. Space time distortion technology for ALL humankind..

It allowed each faction to look beyond the confines of the Solar System for the first time.

Stability returned to Sol but inter faction differences remained and the scars of war cut deep..

The Singularity Trials was born from this pain.

Each Faction offered up their most competent warriors and commanders to compete in an annual tournament designed to honour their fallen and test their readiness for battle.

For even though the Singularity War was over, the Universe is Infinite… And completely Unknown…

Cyber Defense

Cyber Defense

Changing my review back to positive, as the developer fixed the issue. A lot of levels were unattainable, now they are.

So anyway, basic tower defense game, with some pros and some cons.

The biggest pro is that it works, far too many tower defense games on Steam are broken or incomplete. This one seems to be pretty solid.

The look is also a positive for me, though it will not be to everyone’s tastes. It resembles the old vectrex games, for those who remember that.

The game has an interesting but limited array of foes. According to the developer, the spawner tailors the kind of attackers it generates to counter your defenses, and it does seem to have some effect.

Real player with 17.1 hrs in game

I left negative reviews in the past because the game originally had quite a few bugs and issues.

But, the developer continues to release patches and address issues that are discovered.

It’s a fun tower defense game, I enjoy it quite a bit for the price.

Hope to see more features and maps come in the future, or for the game to be open for community mods and maps.

Pretty well done. Definitely along the lines of Disco Elysium in a cyberpunk setting, but without the roll of the dice involved in your dialogue checks - options are mostly determined by how you branch your professions (the level-up system) and by your past actions and interactions with other characters, things or situations. On top of that, you have to use the information you gather to draw conclusions and make deductions (you play as a sort of cyber detective), and most choices you make will either block certain paths of information or open them, which ends up changing the nature of a lot of the dialogue and the way the story’s told and, inevitably, how you’ll get to end the game.

IN A WORD: COMPELLING

IN A NUTSHELL:

WHAT TO EXPECT: Detective adventure game. Isometric presentation. Cyberpunk Setting. Wide range of well-crafted locations. Good variety of crafted NPC individuals. Scripted, linear but self-deterministic story with arcs. Point & click style interaction system with some depth. Minimal character creation. Unrestrictive clue and deduction system. Occupational skill system for additional interaction options. Forgiving design generates some replayability. Made with no soft-caps. Text heavy, requires lots of reading. Extensive Codex feature full of important game data. No combat system. Single-player.

Space Trader: Merchant Marine

Space Trader: Merchant Marine

Space Trader Merchant Marine is that strange situation where two very different genres have been combined together in the hope of hitting that once in a lifetime combination that everybody agrees is pure genius, like Vampires and Teenagers, or Ninjas and Cheerleaders. Space Trader doesn’t quite hit that special recipe however.

Space Trader is a combination of a numbers trading simulator and a first person shooter and by far and large the biggest problem is that playing the game you have trouble telling which of these two aspects feel the most tacked on.

Real player with 82.7 hrs in game

Space Trader Merchant Marine was released in Oct 23, 2008. It boasts a score of 89% from a review by GameFocus saying, ““One of the best indie games of 2008. An innovative and addictive experience. Addictive, very fun and innovative are the best words to describe the game and the bottom line is this is a welcome addition to any gamer’s library so buy this game and enjoy it.”

This is very akin to the how ‘reviews’ reflected Bubsy 3D on its own packaging, to those that remember.

The game is broken down into four different areas, exploration, trading, time management, and fighting/bounty hunting.

Safe Not Safe

Safe Not Safe

Ever wondered how stealth games of the future will look like?

This is how. Safe Not Safe reinvigorates the genre in several fundamental ways.

Meaningful exploration

Every mission is a completely new procedurally generated level. Explore freely and find your own way to the goal without a pre-designed solution.

Worthy Opponent

Powerful AI controls the whole base and commands robotic security. The AI is adapting to your actions and builds smarter and stronger defences on the fly.

Real Challenge

Rogue-lite elements are challenging but fair. No saves during the missions – success depends only on your plan and the way you combine your skills and gear.
