Lithium City

Lithium City

| Follow my curator for more great game recommendations! |

Lithium City is a wonderfully atmospheric isometric twin stick action game. You play as a female warrior working her way higher and higher up in the city towards a final battle.

The game utilises guns, melee and thrown weapons and at times you will need all three. All will need to be used and due to the scarcity of ammunition you will frequently have to change weapons on the fly. Shooting is tight and easy and the various guns have the weight you’d expect. Even when everything feels far too hectic you can usually get back on top with judicious weapon use and occasionally running away! The controls are simple shoot/stab/punch with one button and dash with another, that’s it. Though the dash can be a little imprecise at times.

A lot of people are comparing this game to Hotline Miami, which is true in a way. You enter a room with a pre-set enemy placement, and try to kill everyone in there, learning and adapting to where they are and what weapons they drop and the best way to plan your assault through it.

That being said, there’s a few stark differences between the two. Hotline Miami is focused more on larger levels, entire floor plans and buildings you have to clear out, whereas Lithium City has smaller rooms. Lithium City is a bit shorter, and each level has more of a specific concept it goes with, whether it’s utilizing moving floors or defending a single room with waves of enemies running in. The biggest complaint I have in regards to gameplay would be that Lithium City is short, with only six chapters it shouldn’t take you more than five hours to beat. Which is fine, for the price, but I found myself wanting more stages that were fully open, which don’t really come in until near the end of the game. It’s also isometric, which works really well with this kind of gameplay.

TERRORHYTHM (TRRT) - Rhythm driven action beat ‘em up!

It pains me to write a negative review for this game, but in its current state, TERRORHYTHM is just not that enjoyable

Don’t get me wrong, being a fan of rhythm games, I like this game and see great potential for it, but there are a couple major issues that prevent me from truly enjoying the game

Messy calibration system

Other reviewers have covered how this feature breaks when you use controllers, but since I’ve never used a controller for this game, I’ll let you read those reviews for more accurate information. However, there is still something else that is rather done poorly.

“Easy to Learn, Hard to Master” game.

First of all, I love the art style!

There was a lot of cool design in the different backgrounds and animation. Also the weapons - (that you’ll get from enemies) - katanas, throwing discs and a giant reaper scythe that looks cool as hell as you slice down enemies).

The music is also brilliant!

Every single track here is big and thumping and geared towards making you want to move. WIthin seconds of starting up the first level, I found myself bopping along in my seat, and that set the tone for every other level.  BTW, you also can add in your own songs.

Unending Dusk

Unending Dusk

Unending Dusk is a decent beat’em up if you enjoy grinding stats and finding rare attack mods. As you can see I dropped over 80 hours just to max out 2 of the 4 characters. I guess you could say that it has some roguelite elements, although there is no perma-death. The stages are randomly generated so you can run into a secret shop or a hidden area, and that is not counting the stat grind which is usually associated with the genre. For me the game managed to capture the nostalgia that I have for classic beat’ em ups, despite having all those new features. In my opinion the combat, aesthetic and the controls are faithfully implemented. I play Streets of Rage (2) very often, by comparison the execution of attacks is essentially the same. Unfortunately, it has no grappling which is perhaps my biggest problem. There are definitely some modern features added to the formula such as character levels and different damage types, but overall it truly feels like a game that could be on Genesis - mainly due to aesthetic.

Real player with 104.7 hrs in game

Unending Dusk is an old-school beat-em-up with ARPG mechanics and a pretty decent, darksynth-esque soundtrack that was admittedly rough around the edges in its early days, but regular updates have smoothed a lot of those edges and made for a compelling cooperative experience whenever I can rope friends into playing it. The developer even does double XP events on occasion. It has up to four-player online coop but regrettably no local option, an odd choice for the genre.

The time and place, a dark cyberpunk future in the last city on Earth. The titular twilight spells impending doom for the city given its reliance on solar power. A brilliant engineer has taken it upon himself to gather a band of the deadliest mercenaries, bounty hunters, soldiers and even religious fanatics he can get to find the source of the unnatural darkness and combat the strange, almost demonic invaders it brought with it.

Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show

Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show

Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show

Redneck Ed: Astro Master Show takes place in a fantasy universe where aliens abduct people, creatures, and beings to make them fight for their amusement.

A fascinating story concept, which would be a waste if the gameplay wasn’t up to it; luckily it is. The gameplay is simple with a fun level progression system and a ton of goofy funky-looking opponents to beat up.

Disclaimer: A copy of this game was provided by the developer.

Redneck Ed: Astro Monsters Show is an arcade fighting platformer arena game.

The game nails the cartoonish graphics and animations. This is the one thing I can't complain about. The music is good, but sound effects are missing for certain actions leaving you unsatisfied. Sometimes both music and sounds bug out and restart after a few seconds.

There's 15 arena levels to choose from, each having 3 difficulties with 2 challenges per difficulty. The good thing is that each arena feels different enough to offer interesting challenges whether it's waves of enemies, environment or boss battles. The balance is where it goes wrong, some of them feel good, some boring and some feel extremely hard to complete. To progress to new arenas you will need to have played higher difficulties and perform the certain challenges. Besides needing enough stars to unlock new arenas, you will also need to learn the new moves that allow you to complete them at all. Another balance issue is the power creep where the new abilities end up being used and the old ones mostly forgotten.

## Roller Riot

This game is absolutely worth your time.

The pastel colors and soft, techno music gives it a surprisingly unique feel and design, and the simply gameplay helps make it a great timewaster or an enjoyable relaxing game.

Each enemy has a specific design and associated color, which means that even when you're swarmed by enemies (and you WILL be swarmed), you won't lose track of how many hits a certain baddie will need before he goes down. Get a high enough combo by hitting enough baddies without missing and you get to Frenzy, and that's when the fun begins!

I absolutely LOVE this game! I got it thinking it was one of those "Play it once and never again" games, because I liked the art style. But now I think about this game alot, I always wanna beat my best score! I may not have alot of hours on this game, but I just got it so I kind of can't have more at the moment.

I love how this game is compatible with keyboard AND mouse, and how there's a learning curve to new enemies and projectiles, combos and frenzy. Have I mentioned the art style? It's all SO CUTE, despite the story collectibles being… Well, I'll let you see for yourself. I definitely recommend!

![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1498840/extras/combo.gif?t=1609939515)

This game uses a strict floating combo system, which is no longer a fake or unrestricted floating combo.

Floating combo: refers to the ability to continue to attack the enemy after knocking the enemy into the air, in order to cause more combo num and damage.

Floating combo Limit: Observe the "four actions and two no-repeat" rule, that is, after the enemy is floated, a maximum of four actions are added, and the same action can be used up to two times. After this limit is exceeded, the floating combo will be forcibly terminated (normal attack and Jump attack is not subject to this restriction).

*   Block System

![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1498840/extras/block.gif?t=1609939515)

This game uses a strict blocking system, which extremely tests the player's hand speed. After a successful block, you will get a short invincibility time. The invincibility time will increase as your character level up.

In Crazy Mode, it is recommended that players use more blocks and use the invincible time after the block is successful to move. In addition, there is a short invincibility time after the blood kill, please use it with caution.

*   Level Up System

In order to increase growth, this game adds an level up system. Characters gain points by hitting or props. After the points reach a certain value, they will be level up. When the character reaches level 10 and 20, certain actions will be strengthened and changed.

As the level increases, the character’s attack power and blood volume will increase accordingly. The level can be increased infinitely, and the attack power and maximum blood volume are limited.

*   Weapon System

![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1498840/extras/weapon.gif?t=1609939515)

In order to increase the fun of the game, this game uses a storable weapon system. Players can collect various weapons such as AK, rifles, bazookas, etc., use them as much as they want, and put them back in their backpacks when they are not needed.

*   Crazy Mode

![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1498840/extras/cray.gif?t=1609939515)

In addition to the traditional pass mode, the game has a new ultra-high difficulty Crazy Mode. In the Crazy mode, there are a large number of soldiers and bosses, and the enemy's attack, blood volume, and AI are greatly improved. It requires extremely skilled operations to pass the level.

*   BOSS Rush

![](https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1498840/extras/boss.gif?t=1609939515)

BOSS Rush mode is a mode to directly challenge the BOSS. In this mode, there is no interference from soldiers, and players can enjoy various floating combo.

This mode lasts for 12 levels, and there are even 2BOSS and 3BOSS levels behind it, which is an excellent place to level up and show operations.

#### About development

This game was made by a person who spent a whole year and carefully polished it. The full-time development process is very difficult and it is not easy to finish it.The original intention of making this game was to miss the arcade games that were often played as a child. Are those games that were once all the rage really going to be forgotten by history?

If you like arcade games, please support this game. If the sales volume is good, there will be a sequel version later.

## BOMJMAN
