Alphabear: Hardcover Edition
Don’t know if you want to read this review, but even if you don’t, just grin and bear it. I’ve been in hibernation this winter so far and needed the entertainment.
After having second thoughts about rummaging around garbage bins and seeing what leftover deliciousness my fellow humans left, I turned my attention to computer gaming. Yes, weird, I know. After you eat something to fill your belly, you need something to feed your mind too, you see. I happened to find this computer game inside one of the local pawn shops (don’t ask how I got in,) and decided to take a paw to it.

While it’s fun to spell “semen”, and even funnier still when the game accepts “semens”, and the bears are all very cute, this unfortunately gets very grindy a few chapters in.
Why bother grinding for legendary bears with an abysmally low drop rate (so low that the developers refused to state it when asked) in a single player game where only you can see them? Or what’s the point of grinding so many levels that you can pass a single stage, play for a bit and hit another wall where it doesn’t matter how good you are, you still have to grind your bear stats to stand a chance of winning?

Lingua Fleur: Lily
Check out my full review on YuriMother.Tumblr.com
A significant part of my job is knowing the details of the goings-on in the world of yuri. It, therefore, shames me to admit that I almost missed out on the visual novel Lingua Fleur: Lily as I was completely unaware of it until Taiwanese studios Narrator and Storia, the game’s developers and publishers, messaged me. Thank the great goddess of yuri that they did, because I would have regretted missing this experience.
Lingua Fleur: Lily is a short kinetic visual novel set in a university told from the perspective of student Yuyi, the protagonist. Yuyi is a quiet and introverted student, hardly interacting with her classmates and having no close friends. Her isolated circumstances change when she is paired with the outgoing Yile, the deuteragonist of the story, during physical education. Slowly Yile beings to befriend Yuyi, helping her to come out of her shell and be truthful about her identity and difficult past.

Lingua Fleur : lily was an huge surprise to me. Specially taking in mind it’s an 2h long VN, it has a lot of content. Not only how the text looks like an Chinese poetry book. Or the music that despite be simple, it’s really well placed, specially at the best moments this VN has to show. With that be said, there are VN and comic talking about the whole “open up” when it comes to sexuality. But I really like how Lingua Fleur : lily did. By telling an story without losing the main focus of it, while match pretty well with an text that makes everything they are been thought quite charming and frank. I think it really remembers me when I first read Seabed, it’s not about the “what” but “how” you do it.

The Mikado Birdgirl in Taichung
Review with accompanying screenshots and video in Sinical Network
https://www.sinicalanimenetwork.com/post/the-mikado-birdgirl-in-taichung-review
I recently received a free key of this game from 李處守 through my friend ipa as a translator and beta-tester for this game. The Mikado Birdgirl in Taichung is Erotes Studio’s sixth visual novel release (fourth in Steam) fitting into the romance and thriller genre with science fiction themes. This is a direct sequel to its earlier title The Leopard Catgirl in Miaoli where we follow the male protagonist Wang Cheng-En in a fictitious alternate reality where the island of Taiwan is split into more than 20 different states after every town and city voted for independence. Cheng-En had to flee his hometown of Miaoli after becoming a fugitive and joined a leopard catgirl Pisuka Riya, and a mikado birdgirl Mika, on a new mission in Taichung.

First of all this is a Sequel to “The Leopard Catgirl in Miaoli” so if you havent played that yet then I recommend checking it out before. Now to the sequel this really feels like an improved version of the first game. The few things that I didnt like about the original were fixed or just improved like the text settings, the resolution and also the translation. They also added voice acting, although I didnt really find it necessary or adding much as it was just kinda monotone. Apart from that the soundtrack was not as fitting in this one and the story was also a bit boring if I am honest cause the entire concept is just very similar to the original game with the exception that the main girl changed and that the country and the bad guys are different. The structure of the story however is quite similar.

You Can Kana - Learn Japanese Hiragana & Katakana
Thank you for your game. I like it a lot, Your game has a great potency. I help me a lot on the journey remembering Hiragana and Katakana. By the way, I have some reviews after 20 hours as newbie Japanese learner.
1. Can you develop an timeless mode? We would like to read correct first, speed will follow later, and yes, we need time to read and also learn the meaning of the word as well instead of rushing to the other words or they will disappear.
2. A horizontal mode to change between the default vertical one would be great.

TLDR:
Recommending this to anyone looking to hone their hiragana and katakana reading comprehension and speed.
Disclaimer:
I got my key for free.
I was fortunate enough to get to make some UI suggestions here and there.
I had been studying Japanese prior for quite some time.
Wanikani, Genki 3rd Edition, and Anki.
You Can Kana is a great addition to the other learning tools as it’s the only one really drilling you in the basic alphabets.
I personally struggled a LOT with Katakana.
Now with You Can Kana I feel i’m far better equipped in dealing with the archaic translations from English to Japanese via Katakana.

Desktop NEKO Girl
Good work I give It a 6/10
the main issues i have with it
the prices are a bit steep (example) the 1 soap cost 20g and 1 hour of work give me 15g and 2 hours work give me 30g so when i buy soap it leaves me 10 then i can’t do a mini game thats cost 20g to play.
All so Desktop NEKO Girl Needs a manual Because iv bin trying to do a fresh start with it and i don’t know how.
I give it a thumps up

Pros:
-
Cute Fashion and Neko girl
-
Cute Animations
Cons:
-
The tamagotchi system does not work.
-
At 0 Hunger or Clean, it will not do anything. i.e make her sick or cause death.
-
She will infinitely refuse to work cause she is in the bad mood (0 Hunger and 0 Clean). If you have no money, it will not go anywhere, as she does not die.
-
Not sure if this is a bug, but if you switch off your computer while the classes are on going, it will not register the fact she did any classes at all. I did 2 hours of one of the classes and it still showed 0 on the stat board. This might be a thing with jobs too but I need to confirm.

~Be a maid in the Demon World~ The Secret Café of the Demon Angel Hero.
While the English Translation could use a good deal of refinement, This is a Decent Business Sim.
The Evening activities are quite well done.
– Real player with 5.9 hrs in game
TL;DR: Recommended ONLY when on sale, maybe around 30% off or more. It doesn’t worth it in full price.
Pros:
-
Cute girls.
-
Good moving image H-scenes.
-
Good optimization unlike other H-game on steam that use Unity as the game engine. I often found H-game that use Unity will gobble up your cpu to 100%, but not with this game.
Cons:
- The SLG part are very lacking, mainly you will use your money to cook the menu then use the remaining money to increase the stats of the girls, increase your manager level, and customize your cafe in that order. You don’t really need to put much thought to play the SLG part which is the main point of the game and this is a problem.

Is this game for you?
-
First of all, it really is a lot easier than it looks to play (on Easy Difficulty and Zen Mode). On the other hand, Daily Challenge on Hard Difficulty will really test your mettle.
-
Do you like obscure words? If it will be fun for you to see weird and obscure words and learn new words that you’ll use in games like Scrabble and the Crossword, this could be a good match.
-
If you like more casual games that you can then master or just play in a chill mode, we think you should keep learning more. Even as you get better you can try to beat each level faster and faster. If you want a game where you are planning ten moves ahead, this probably isn’t your game.
-
The gameplay is centered around finding a word with the current block, this is rewarded by building up a multiplier by getting consecutive words too.

Art and char design is just adorable ; music and voice acting is quite nice and the is even a cute badge with quite nice emotes going with
Sadly the game is very badly translated and it’s sometimes quite hard to understand who is actually speaking (outside of the voice acted ones), they mixed up gender and such ; i think even google translation don’t do this
Take it in sales if you really want to do a peek at this game or understand chinese :p
