BRAVELY DEFAULT II
When I wrote my initial review, I played ~6 hours and was skeptical of the game. My opinion has changed for the better in the intervening ~82 hours and I… kinda recommend this game, but not as part of the series it stems from:
It is an alright game, but not a great Bravely game. I played Bravely Default and Bravely Second years ago on the 3DS and they were the reason I bought this one. This is heavily influencing my view of the game, especially my list of negative points.
Positive:
- It has good performance overall, though one optional vulcano-themed dungeon was kinda laggy for me. The game lost the high detail background textures of towns one time at around 36h playtime and had one blackscreen at 70 hours (both fixed with a restart).

Bravely Default II (Steam Port) Rating
Overall Score: 9.1/10
Rating: Excellent
Note: This was for my first playthrough of Bravely Default II in 2020. I have
finished many square-enix games and expected this to be similar to an old
FF game.

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan
Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan is a pacifist, pokemon-esque game with visuals inspired by old rubber hose cartoons and/or Cuphead. I would recommend playing with a controller.
The game was very fun and easy to play, the game also offers varying difficulty settings to make it easier if need be. I really enjoyed the battle system and the creature collection. For how few levels there are, there are quite a few creatures to befriend. Each of the creatures have two designs, one black and white and one in colour. I like the edgy look of the black and white designs better personally, but the colour designs look alright. You can level up your creatures only twice, but each creature has a backstory that’s revealed through levelling up, so there is a bit of content in those two level ups.

The adventures of Rainbow Brilly… sorry, I mean Billy, is one that very few people can’t relate to in some way. Whether it be from the semi-nostalgic art style, being a mixture of Paper Mario’s style and a lot of classic 2.5D games, or the various mini-games that count as “actions” for you to find, it’s hard to deny that this Rainbow has a color for everyone, even if it doesn’t seem quite in your spectrum.
For the positives of this game, I’d commend it’s simple, yet still interactive style of puzzles and encounters or “confrontations” as they’re called. Your objective in almost every fight is to color your opposition’s world; and I said opposition instead of opponent because there’s not really that many characters that are outright antagonistic as their point. They’re trouble souls, just like you, and your way of combating their gray outlook on life is to talk to them and use the support of your other friends and /their/ other friends to help them realize that there’s more to life than just one shade.

WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY®
GLANCE RECOMMENDATION: 82% YES / 18% NO
GOOD
-
An incredible leap forward for monster catching games. You don’t just catch one and maybe give it a few months. Each monster has unique skill boards, with multiple evolutions and transfigurations, which give a bevy of choices for unique skills when you max out. It’s insane. The amount of combinations for different stacks and combinations of abilities are enormous.

It’s a gorgeous game with an adorable chibi look. Not one mirage looks like they neglected its visuals.

In my experience, most games that pull together characters from long-running series into a game of this type usually turn out to be little more than nostalgia-bait for long-time fans. That’s absolutely what I expected when I started playing World of Final Fantasy–a Pokémon-esque game about capturing chibi versions of the notable monster mascots of the Final Fantasy series, with a story cobbled together out of references and characters from all of the mainline series. I expected Reynn and Lann, the two child protagonists, to be little more than self-inserts for the player. And I expected the charm of the game, the draw that would keep me playing, to be my attachment to the series or fanboy excitement at the prospect of my favorite characters from previous games showing up to save the day.

Empire of Angels IV
50 hours.. and game complete. Still got a few grinding to do to unlock all achievement but it’s still a pretty good ride!
I have played angel empire 2 and 3 from like 20 years ago and this really brings back memories.
Personaly I like 2 4 3 in that order but all 3 is still really good games maybe i wil go back and find 1 in some old website in the future to play it. Storywise 4 happens from 1000 years after story of 2 or 3.
Cubbie graphics of Tactical turn base combat. Not as many class as previous games but still need to keep switching class interesting. Personally this one feels quite a bit shorter in the plot with some extra annoy grinding that you will have to do.

So Empire of Angels IV is a game about a bunch of grills on a quest to collect the four Lord Souls Whoops did it again. You collect the four Menhir (or attempt to anyway, spoiler) and you have zany adventures along the way. The plotline makes little sense, even when it’s explained to you and I can’t figure out how the characters wind up in the situation that they’re in. I feel like several situations were disastrously contrived. It’s almost like the developers had a checklist of things they wanted to shovel in. Here’s your rival, here’s your betrayal, here’s your feels trip, the list goes on. And as noted before, they don’t connect well. On top of that, it was hard for me to invest myself in the characters and I think that may be because of presentation. There wasn’t really much of an underlying story to connect me to them.

The Outbound Ghost
────────────────── Press Kit | Discord | Twitter ─────────────────── ⠀
⠀
The Outbound Ghost is an adventure RPG about a ghost figuring out the cause of their own death, and helping others come to terms with the afterlife. You’ll play as an amnesiac ghost who wakes up in the outskirts of the town of Outbound. It just happens that it was the site of a serial killing a few weeks before you came into the picture.
Meet ghosts and engage with a variety of gameplay systems that are intertwined with the story in order to free them to the afterlife.⠀
-
Meet a colourful cast of characters each with a troubled life before their death.
-
Engage in word battles inspired by Undertale’s combat.
-
Take in the beautiful vistas of the Paper Mario-inspired world.
-
Experience a one of a kind story about the meaning of life (and death).
⠀
In the world of The Outbound Ghost, ghosts are the embodiment of regret. Most people go to the afterlife after dying, yet those who were unhappy with their previous lives become ghosts and are forced to haunt the Earth until they right their wrongs. Of course, this is not always possible since doing this as a ghost is orders of magnitude harder than when you are a human. However, some manage to do this and are able to spend the rest of their deaths in the afterlife. In The Outbound Ghost, your task is to help others fix or come to terms with their past lives so that they can enjoy the pleasures of eternal bliss. You must achieve that for yourself too, but it’s not so easy to mend the mistakes of your past life when you don’t even remember them.
Video Game Fables
“Video Game Fables” is a fun, lighthearted RPG adventure set in a once-traditional RPG world that hasn’t had a player in decades.
The world’s script gets completely ruined by someone calling herself “The Forsaken Princess.” It’s up to Aru (the world’s princess), Nate (an NPC aspiring to be a hero), and Tator (the villain’s son) to get things back to normal…or maybe change everything forever.
-
Lighthearted humor throughout the dialog, characters, and world.
-
Fun narrative and story that doesn’t rely on parody and has its own identity.
-
Challenging, fast-paced, turn-based battles that require strategy and quick thinking.
-
Colorful and vibrant stylized graphics.
-
Unique XP and leveling system which lets you allocate resources to setup your party strategically.
-
Skill crafting, light class system that changes play styles slightly depending on equipped weapon, weapon upgrades, mining, fishing, simple gardening, and many more fun features.

Chateau Garden
I love the concept of this game, I really wish it had worked! I got it to work twice, but usually it just goes into “input not supported” and I can’t even ctrl, alt, del it. I hope this gets fixed or improved upon one day. I would love to play this game for real.

This is a fun matching game with a cute story. The best part is that for most of the levels there is no pressure for speed. Along the way you earn coins to decorate a garden. The decorating is a fun reward for earning the coins while completing levels. There are a total of 80 levels and some interesting boosts along the way. This is a delightful way to spend some time.
