A VR concert with kawaii girls? Take my money!

I absolutely love VR concerts and I probably spend as much time in Hop, Step, Sing! songs and MocuMocuDance as I do playing VR games so I am a bit biased but this is fairly decent, IMO. The music is a little bit lower quality compared to HSS! but I do like the Vocaloid-like effect they’re using on the lyrics and I do like that there’s a karaoke mode, something I wish HSS! had (only English and Kanji, though, no Romaji). As for the visuals, again, it’s lower quality than HSS! but it’s still passable. You get to go on a mini trip through time with the girls and steal a fish ship. You don’t get to do that everyday.

ISLAND

ISLAND

It’s very long, you don’t need to read all of it if you don’t feel like to. It’s nonsense anyways lol. Spoilers alert (sort of).

不用全部看完,毕竟我都不知道我写的什么玩意hhh……小幅剧透警报

This is definitely one of those masterpiece from Frontwing.

这肯定是Frontwing的佳作之一。

From its title image, you’d think ISLAND is just some kind of normal love-story-telling visual novel, probably with some NSFW contents with it. But the fact is, ISLAND is far beyond that, it does not contains any NSFW stuff, except some questionable ones.

I cannot express my love for this game in definite words at all, as it has influenced me so much in amazing ways and will always have a place in my heart, however I can still say some things about it that will hopefully let others enjoy this masterpiece like I did. I understand that this visual novel has one or two plot holes within it and that the word ‘masterpiece’ is subjective; but once you play through the entire game and feel the emotions that the stories hit you with, then it really becomes something which, in my heart, is a masterpiece. I will be keeping this spoiler free as I want everyone to have their own experience themselves, however I will describe some aspects of Island.

Time management crossed with puzzle - Making sure plants get enough sunlight and water within constraints of a moving day schedule, with reflective mirrors. Stressful… I don’t have a green thumb.

Pathfinders: Memories

Pathfinders: Memories

Pathfinders: memories is a lovely puzzle platformer, the goal of the game is simple:

Guide the robot from point A to B, but the puzzle here is that you can only memorize the path and only see the grids to guide the robot. While it seems simple, it becomes easily a challenging game, I loved it.

Is something more to love in this game? Yes, there is! I love how cute the robots are, seeing them walking is so satisfying, plus a chilling soundtrack to listen while you’re playing, I can’t recommend this game enough.

Real player with 22.3 hrs in game

I have a good time playing this cute game where I can challenge my memory. You have to memorize the safe path then draw it when it is hidden. You can use pins and checkpoints to help you but you lose points for using them, so be careful if you aim the high scores. I like that they use scenarios from different people in History, even some unusual like the Mali!

A wonderful little game

Not many hours are needed for completion, but the replay value is immense

You control a little robot, sent back in time to save your creator from a debilitating accident

You need to try and remove that which causes the accident to happen

On the way you will need to gather more capabilities

Tighten or remove screws with a screwdriver, or fix electronics with a soldering iron

Also, scattered throughout the game are glyphs, which you will need to collect to unlock the secret ending

Short but very lovingly designed puzzle platformer with a well-told story. The short duration of the game is not particularly bad, as it is worth playing through the game several times to reach the different endings. The puzzles are clever and playful, but will hardly overwhelm anyone. Some jumps need a bit of timing, but there are hardly any frustrating parts. The controls and the extensions that are gradually being added work flawlessly. Only the grappling hook is a little inaccurate.

YesterMorrow

YesterMorrow

Pfuuuu … It was a wild ride. Although I swore heavily sometimes, I enjoyed this game very much. Some parts still have a few rough edges but nothing serious. The level design is pretty clever and challenging and the boss fights are memorable and a lot of fun. I’m not a huge fan of pixel art, yet the game looks really nice and the soundtrack and sound design is amazing. I definitely recommend it to play (and finish).

YesterMorrow is a cute platformer, very simple yet you have to pay attention to the environment if you’re going for the 100 %.

Sounstrack is amazing, sceneries are amazing and it has a calming atmosphere overall, except for when there is a boss and the music changes to a hype type of music.

The development team is amazing, they streamed the game a few times and it was really nice to see the developing team do a speedrun of a game they created.

Oh, and Yester has the CUTEST collectibles ever,: you have to find and pet cats and dogs all over the map

ChronoClock

ChronoClock

ChronoClock is very enjoyable visual novel. In fact, its such treat, i am totaly in love with it.

Its moege in its best form! If you are not looking for anything complicated and just want to have fun, i would be hard pressed to think of another VN with such high entertaiment value!

Character design is higlight of this VN. All the characters are incredibly well written, they are also out of usual stereotypes which makes interacting with them really refreshing. For example Makoto is girl with yakuza background, who has quite oldtimer beliefs and holds honor and chivalry in high regard (also she is totaly crazy into rabbits), then you have Misaki who at first glance is tsundere, but when teased a little she comes out spilles out her real feelings (come on, honest tsundere? you have no idea how fun she is), or Cro who is goddess but due to certain circumstances she becomes human girl and is expiriencing everything “human” for first time.

Real player with 48.3 hrs in game

It’s a very enjoyable and straightforward game where you always know on which girl’s route you are. It took me 36 hours to complete.

Story.

I won’t write any details here but I’ll say it’s mostly slice of life type of story. The game promises you it’s nothing serious but that doesn’t mean you won’t cry. I did. It just means there are no bad ends.

Characters.

You have your typical anime archetypes: tsundere, overly attached sister, shy girl, blonde from overseas, etc. Despite beign clichéd they are not boring by any means, in fact I feel each one of them brings something fresh into this pungent bog of stereotypes. There are 6 girls to court, 4 initially available and 2 unlocked after.

Eternia: Pet Whisperer

Eternia: Pet Whisperer

I’m not a particularly big fan of visual novels but the premise of this game most definitely is my thing.

! You get to rescue talking, time-travelling animals that live forever. What’s not to love? Who wouldn’t want to take them all home?

The game is charming and sweet, utterly bonkers and very funny - there’s been so many laugh out loud moments for me throughout the game (especially the reference to the size of ratty nads!).

The artwork is just lovely. A gorgeous watercolour, painterly style. Perfect for the tone of the game. The UI is simple and intuitive. The music is adorable and suits the game so well.

Real player with 5.2 hrs in game

This is a fun, light visual novel about bonding with talking pets, with a small amount of framing narrative and hints about the world in which it’s set (which did subvert my expectations). Each of the pets has a distinct and different (and often quirky) personality, and most of the game is learning about them by spending time with them and thereby earning their trust.

The artwork and music are upbeat and bright, fitting the general tone, and each of the plotlines moves along quickly. It’s very much a visual novel rather than a puzzle game, with your choices mostly being which pet’s storyline to follow each day, but with its brisk play time of 1-2 hours this works fine.
