Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet
I’ve LP’d the previous installment , Kickstarted the sequel, and was rather looking forward to this. Let’s break down my impressions, from least important to the most:
Graphics: I kinda miss the original hand-drawn look. It had a unique charm to it that the smoother and less unique 3d models lack.
Voicework: Quite good all around. Except from some British TV guy – apparently everyone were so excited to have him on that they forgot to check whether his voice fits the character.

As I have been following the game’s author’s main work for a while, (which I would highly recommend to most people on the planet) I finally brought myself to buying the game during a sale. The drawing style is simple, but atmospheric, the voice-acting is mostly superb and the few birds one gets to see up close are truly adorable. The highlight of the game definitely are the song-bits, which are completely insane and oddly catchy. Bought it during a sale and thought it was quite sweet. Especially for a game both written and animated by someone who, as far as I understand, only dabbles in game-development.

A Nasty Farm
Nasty Farm is an arcade 3d game showing the unclear situation of chicks imprisoned by Dr. Mazi, a mad, self-proclaimed scientist who has targeted small defenseless chicks bought with the farm, the number of chicks was huge, so he decided to make a deal on them, but the disobedient chicks go to boxes.
Game:
_Playing the role of our super character, you have to prepare yourself to save poor chicks locked in cages. The player’s task is to take the falling crates out of the machine as quickly as possible, deliver the crate to the press, located on the right side of the platform, thus freeing the chicks. The task seems trivial, but it is not. Crates falling off the machine use engine physics and any nervous uncoordinated pulling of crates carries a consequence, crates can block the machine, push the character away, the player should avoid such situations. An additional obstacle are crates with explosives that take the player’s energy.
Although we did not leave the player without a chance to defend himself, we added extra chests that add special abilities for a short while. Unlocking special chests requires collecting the appropriate number of points. During the game, the player must balance the game to earn points, to unlock extra crates, but must not forget to save the chicks. After the time is over, the player must quickly go outside to the shelter and catch the chicks escaping in panic into the basket, to unlock the next round, he must catch the right amount of them and not let them fall to the ground. The game is over when you destroy the evil professor’s machine. In the game, we left a small detail related to the gameplay that the player should discover for himself in order to become the best. Good luck._

Pretty decent puzzle game. Mechanics are very simple; just move a robot with the arrow keys, and help it push a crate to the opening in the floor. Took me about an hour-and-a-half to get through all 60 levels. The great part is, there’s still playability afterwards, being able to make your own puzzles and uploading for the world to share! It could benefit from having a simple tutorial, as well as the ability to change the background color, but still pretty good nonetheless.

Do Animals Dream?
It’s interesting how divisive this little game is. I see a review with a thumbs down because it’s “vegan propaganda” and another thumbs down for the game being too cute and not hard hitting enough. I really enjoyed it for what it is. If you’re expecting something super scary because of the content warnings you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you take it for what it is, a cute interactive story that simply asks the player through the text choices to answer questions about their thoughts on animal consumption as part of their diet. That’s it. I appreciated the cuteness along with the message. I was definitely surprised by the camera turning on during my Twitch stream though but I thought that was actually a great way to really bring the point of the story home.

-Simple yet effective and entertaining.
-Great for multiple runs with the utilization of items given at each new start (after you get atleast 1 ending). It could use a save system to faster check some dialogue options (but this might be a feature update).
-Funny dialogues
First run is about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on how much you want to explore and which ending you will have. After this it’s up to you to see everything the game has to offer and it’s a lot. It’s worth it to make those re-runs.

Video World
Disclaimer: Indie work is short and sweet. Don’t expect a lot.
This companion to the EP Video World by Monster Mansion also scored Excellence in Emerging Games at this year’s AGDAs (that’s Australian Game Developer Awards, just in case you’re unfamiliar). It’s a well known fact that Halloween is Christmas for the gays, and this rhythm game harnesses that energy with upbeat synth-pop and some excellent pun work. The bright primary colours and crisp character design make night shift at the video store a delight. This also is a continuation of Film Victoria’s fine work in gaming. Thumbs up from me.

I really loved Video World! The text was witty and got plenty of laughs from me, the gameplay really fun and enjoyable, and the music is amazing! I felt like the human manifestation of catJAM bopping to the music while playing. It is a short game, but a lot of fun.

Wild Child
Have a relaxing time exploring a colorful island. Gather hidden items to befriend cute animals during a quiet journey.
Key Features
-
Explore the island at your own pace and discover new biomes as you stroll the land.
-
Come across hidden items during your walk and collect them.
-
Run into nice animals looking for friends.
-
Take your time and relax as the colors softly shift from dawn to dusk.
Glyph☀️
Glyph is challenging and relaxing platformer. That’s a rare combination to see but in this case it really works well. There are multiple different level themes with their own personal soundtracks to create nice and relaxing atmosphere. Some are darker while others raise you above to clouds.
The learning curve in this game has been balanced well with the levels. At the beginning you feel like you can collect everything quite easily and you get in to nice mood. Then levels get harder but you don’t really notice it that well because you start to be in control of your character and it does what you want it to do.Even harder levels won’t feel impassable because you’re not forced to collect everything and the mechanics are simple to learn. What you need is little creativity to reach harder places.

One of the smoothest platformers I’ve ever played. It can be a bit frustrating when you first are learning, but once you get the hang of it, you literally start to fly. The world is your oyster- er… scarab!
-
The levels are condensed, short and mostly unique, providing amazing replay value after hundreds of attempts. They’re also in a 3D space, so optimization becomes more of an interesting challenge! (I definitely haven’t played Broken Road 1000 times, what are you talking about)
-
You can choose the levels you want to play and which ones you don’t, providing relief if a level isn’t your speed.
