Pandemos

Pandemos

A good way to discount the rage of this whole pandemic.

The game is interesting and very cartoonish, which left it with a very nostalgic style from my childhood and my drawings.

A very nice minimalist game with a great retro music and sound effects, the art is like some 8-bits early games. Protect the cells against the virus, that is what we are right now fighting for !

KITT.IO

Very simple game, understandable for young kids. It supported both PS3 and Steam controllers with default mappings when I bought it but stopped some time in the last month, which turns what was a friendly couch experience into a frustrating office one. Pass.

Rangerdog

Rangerdog

Fun little game. I like the fact that it has a checkpoint system to let you enjoy the game yet only losing your score that way you can experience the game and then get better and your own pace! Could definitely see the Parodius inspirations!

I happened to receive this game for free during a key giveaway during Shmup Slam 4 which you should check out if you haven’t. This game is an incredibly well made shmup. It is 7 stages long and each one is actually designed quite well. It gives off huge Parodius vibes which is also awesome. All in all, if I hadn’t received the game for free I definitely would’ve bought it especially for 6 bucks US. If you enjoy shmups at all definitely give this game a shot. I can’t recommend it enough.

Features:

Gameplay:

Blok pairs rain from the sky so do your best to rotate and place them as well as you can. If four bloks of the same colour are in a row then they are destroyed, your score goes up, and all nearby ground gets destroyed. Win by getting rid of all the special blue bloks buried in the ground. Try and get the most points possible or go for for the fastest time to see how far up the leaderboards you can get. The game features full controller support so play with a controller or simply use your keyboard.

Difficulty:

There are 3 primary difficulties, each with their own leaderboard. Beyond this, you can adjust specific characteristics of the difficulty to tailor your experience to exactly how you want it, but rounds played with the custom difficulty do not contribute to the leaderboard. These specific changes you can make include: the depth of the dirt placed at the start of the ground, the speed at which bloks fall to the ground, and the quantity of special blue bloks buried in the ground.

Whak Atak:

A unique way to play the game where after certain numbers of bloks are place, crazy effects take effect on the game: your controls could be reversed, gravity could stop working, special new bloks could show up, and many more. This offers a more unpredictable way to play and can be done in the single player mode or can be played in the two player mode.

Two Player Mode:

You can play the game against a friend and see who can beat the game the fastest or maybe you could crank the difficulty up and see who can survive the longest. This mode keeps track of the number of times each player has won a game so you can really see who the best player is. Both players can play using the keyboard or have one player use the keyboard while the other uses a controller.

Analog Party Sim

Analog Party Sim

(I bought the game 40% off, for the price of 0,95 euro)

I’m between recommending or not recommending this game atm.

TL;DR You should try this out if you are on the look out for a small cheap clicker arcade-y game, that’s simple to get into, not too challenging and offer around an hour of entertainment.

I really like the core of it all - visuals are great, gameplay is simple but could definitely work and the idea is actually good. Music gets a bit repetitive, even tho you have to change it all the time.

Great little indie game that is simple yet addictive. Music is well produced and reminds of the mini game found in Wario Ware. 10/10 for a great starter project!

Fat Man Fights

Fat Man Fights

Overview - All Coming Soon

Fat Man Fights is an action-arcade game with a humorous and light-hearted tone that is centred around an innovative and entertaining pushing mechanic.

Compete in fast-paced, hilarious sumo wrestling games against quick-witted AI opponents for the chance to win more tasty and delicious food (like donuts! And cake! And pizza!)!

First one out of the ring loses!

Progress up the ranks of sumo wrestlers to become the ultimate sumo wrestler of the century!

In Fat Man Fights you will start off in your humble home where you are then able to select your sumo wrestling games from your TV.

In the sumo wrestling match, the core mechanic is pushing.

This is where you hold the mouse button to charge up a push:

Then when you release it, the player will push and the power of that push will correspond with how long the mouse button has been held down for.

This allows for a constant change in playstyles from offensive and defensive which keeps the gameplay always interesting and engaging.

Jumping is also a huge part of the game!

What Fat Man Fights does offer:

  • Fast-paced, fun and exciting sumo wrestling matches

  • A break from the darker and deeper games on Steam

  • An fun and unique push mechanic which is the core mechanic

  • A light-hearted and enjoyable experience

  • High replayability - easy to learn but hard to master

  • A bright and colourful art style

  • Belly flopping. Lots of it.

  • A competitive drive - leaderboards and stats

  • A well-balanced game that suits all types of players with different skill levels

  • Comedic vanity items for the player

  • A variety of maps that suit different playstyles

What Fat Man Fights doesn’t offer:

  • Multiplayer

  • Deep and meaningful gameplay

  • Incredibly well-drawn art

Hey so you’ve scrolled down this far, I’ll tell you a bit about me.

Hi I’m Anika, I made Fat Man Fights, I’m 15 years old and I live in England :)

If you have any questions or constructive criticism (which I would love to hear) please do so in the discussions of the community hub, I will always check it!

Pig Eat Ball

Pig Eat Ball

Extremely fun yet weird game. The amount of passion and creativity put into this title is unbelievable.

Its an arcade game kind of hard to describe, the main feature consists on eating balls to get bigger and puke them depending on the situation. As weird as it sounds, its really polished and what it looks like a simple game mechanic turns into a massive amount of variety really soon. You’ll go from throwing darts, bowling balls, bombs, etc… to dodge giant and weird creatures like a bee-cat or insect-bulls and use them to your advantage, to solve puzzles and intrincate mazes, to fight bosses with really fun and yes, weird designs, and the list goes on.

Pig Eat Ball is a game that came out of nowhere for me. I found this game tweeted out by the developer @MommysBestGames and the video looked interesting so I reached out to Mommy’s Best Games and they were awesome enough to provide a review key for me to check out. But I was still relatively confused as to what kind of game it is and whether it was good or not. Pig Eat Ball is available on Steam and PS4 and is coming soon to the Xbox One, and I’m reviewing the Steam version. Don’t barf, sit back, and relax while I talk about Pig Eat Ball.
