Bridge!

This product is by Aerosoft who I have come across before being producers of payware for Microsoft Flight Simulator. All I can say about this constantly crashing game is that it lived up to my expectations and it’s performance limitations killed it stone dead - five crashes to desktop in the space of one hour. From what I understand the sequel to this game is also worth saving your money over for similar reasons. Avoid Avoid Avoid …

Read the manual.

First, the default language is German, you need to change that in launch options before you start the game.

The game starts fairly intuitive, but not so much as you get further into the “missions”. I’ve already lost over an hour and even though it’s been frustrating at times, it’s well worth the price, at least when it is on sale.

Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs

Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs

In my opinion, this is one of the best VR games I have ever played. It takes the classic formula of throwing birds at pigs, scales it up into a 3D environment and nails everything it has to.

I have played practically all of the Angry Birds games from when they initially came out, nearly an entire decade ago, and so when I saw this, I immediately had to give it a go. I was sceptical, since the original games were 2D and adding an additional dimension would, naturally, cause problems. However, this is actually one of the best parts of the game. The level design accommodates the additional 3D element by allowing most levels to have the option of taking your shots at different, predetermined locations/angles. I find this feature really well done because it continues the element of puzzles in the mobile games where it is about finding the right wood plank to destroy and analysing the structures from different viewpoints, looking for the weak-points is both engaging and satisfying when you get it right.

Hitman: Blood Money

Hitman: Blood Money

Classic Hitman! There’s a reason people say this is the best Hitman game so far, and I totally agree.

I used to play this game in my early teens, and bought it again so I could have it on Steam (yeah, it is THAT good).

The missions are well thought-out, and take place on very unique locations. Each level is completely different from the other, and you never get the “I think I’ve done this before” feeling, because this game completely ditches the “Just go there and kill that guy” mechanic. The methods you choose to kill your target (or targets) really do feel unique, and the same thing will never work twice. You have to analyze your surroundings, the relationship between your targets and think about what will happen if you do X (this is one of the few games I ever played where the mission briefing REALLY is worth reading, because it gives you very important insight on the targets).

To start off, this game is awesome, and surprisingly good considering its age. I’ve never played a Hitman game before this one, it was cheap and had higher reviews than the other older games in the series, and I would now definitely consider myself a fan of the series.

This game is a “social stealth” game, meaning that you hide in plain sight, utilizing disguises, subterfuge, and clever tricks of your environment to take down your targets, and walk away nonchalantly from either the chaos (if you like a more comedic high profile approach), everyone’s lack of awareness that any killing happened at all (if you want to be a ninja), or from everyone’s shock that a chandelier “accidentally” fell on the party host’s face RIGHT when his wife blew up from a faulty BBQ propane tank (the best, most difficult, and rewarding way to do things).

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind® Game of the Year Edition

I think that this is a really well made game. I’ve enjoyed the freedom and atmosphere that the game gives you, the unique setting was really cool, and I felt that the choices that you make in this game have more of a impact than later Elder Scrolls games. There are some problems though, mainly with the fact that there is no way to manually fast travel on your own (without using Mark/Recall or having to pay for it at specific areas in the game), and slow run speed. There was also a bit too many fetch quests in my opinion, but theses problems are small and minor when in comparison to the wealth of great things that the game does well. Highly recommend it!

A true no frills adventure game. I cannot highly recommend it enough. A few points to follow though -

  1. Download mods. Please do not play this without them and expect a great experience. Don’t turn yourself away from the game right away. It’s nearly 20 years old at this point, the game could use all the help it can get.

  2. Take it easy. There’s no wrong way to play. There are certainly “sub-optimal” builds for your character, but that’s the fun of the game. You want to swing a big ass mace and cast spells in light armor? Go for it.

Short and sweet. Unlike crypto, who’s short angry and not green.

The attention to detail is pretty incredible in some areas.

They fixed all the issues i had on launch other than a couple situations where frames tank. I hope they do them all and do them at least this well

I have loads of memories playing DaH as a kid on the PS2, this remaster keeps what made the original so fun whilst also modernising aspects that wouldn’t have held up today. Looking forward to DaH 2.

GUN™

GUN™

Gun is the great western game from the PS2-era, namely, 2005 year. Oh, sure, it is dated! But last time I checked, Rockstar still keeping its Red Dead Redemption to consoles, so there is still none a better open-world cowboy game on the PC.

One thing Gun did good, the shootouts, were bested by the Juarez game series. But if you want an open world where you not only shooting deadbeats, but also shepherd cows, hunting buffalos, and, yeah, running mail quests, while riding your mustang… you still got only the Gun option.

Positive points:

+) Good weapon variety

+) Map is big enough for you to explore, but small enough to remember the fastest routes later on

+) I don’t know about you, but I love slaughtering a room full of enemies in bullettime

+) Gets across the Western feeling

+) Is actually available for PC

+) Main as well as side missions don’t get repetetive and have a certain uniqueness to them

+) Just the right difficulty on Insane. You can take and do just as much damage as your opponents

Let me start this off by saying I 100% would recommend to people to play this game. I got into it because I loved the game Fast Food Tycoon and used to play those back in the day. I was trying to fiind something similar and I stumbled upon this gem.

I mainly love playing these tycoon games in the free mode or where you can vs AI/others to give yourself competition and more mental challenges. But I have also gone through the majority of the story. I will say that their two recent updates have added a lot of fun to the free game and if they keep adding to it it will only become better.

The first time I ever preordered a game. Maybe the last, as the game shows promise, but is very buggy and unfinished. I played some mobile restaurant games, but they of course are very simple and the “pay or wait until bored to death” mechanics is annoying. So I had high hopes for a more realistic restaurant management game. In this game there are elements to that direction, but it still falls short.

Some observations:

  • Graphics: The background graphcs is very pretty, the buidings and traffic and day/night cycle is fine. Unfortunately the people are crude caricatures of a very few types. It gives a creepy feeling seeing 3 or 4 identical clones at your restaurant. Also the people walk through doors, walls by the door, chairs and each other. The yellow flashing paths from warehouses and advertising media are annoying, and should be possible to turn off and on. After the patch the pizzas ooze a greenish vapor. I first thought that was a sign of some infestation. Not savory.

ZUSI 3 - Aerosoft Edition

ZUSI 3 - Aerosoft Edition

This is IMO the de facto state of the art train simulator as far as realism goes. What makes this one an absolute sell even at the comparatively hefty price is that there is no paying for routes or rolling material, every future content is part of the current price. Furthermore the inclusion of the EBuLa and ZuSi Display (which allows one to open instrument panels, MTD, MFA/MFD, EBuLa and backpanels in new windows that can be resized and/or put on other displays) gives it a huge advantage over the simulators by Dovetail Games. It even supports GNT and ETCS and has routes making use of this.

I thought I would write a few thoughts, as it has been sometime since anyone posted for Zusi 3.

Is Zusi 3 worth the money (currently £54.50 Aerosoft Edition on Steam).

Well, it perhaps depends upon your point of view of what you want from a simulator. If you want fancy graphics and easy game play then perhaps Zusi 3 is not for you. If you want adequate graphics (I will return to that subject later) and intense study level game play then perhaps Zusi 3 may be for you.

I have played 236 hours and still only scratched the surface. I am sure there are people who have played hundreds of more hours. It can still catch me out and proves very challenging.

THE GREAT GEOMETRIC MULTIVERSE TOUR

THE GREAT GEOMETRIC MULTIVERSE TOUR

Something about this game is ridiculously addictive. There are enough powerups and overpowered combos for abilities that it could be up there with any big name roguelike. Once you play it’s hard to put down because it’s just easy enough to chain together stackable items and become godly that you want to keep doing it. It’s VERY easy to break this game and become unstoppable, especially with the shop. What’s funny is that the bosses are still pretty hard, so obviously the solution is to become even MORE overpowered to beat them even faster than you did before. There’s a good variety of guns, both good, bad, and endearingly original, good powerups, nice bosses, really just a satisfying game to play. It’s not really “difficult” so don’t expect a meaningful challenge or good combat to go with it.

GGMT is one of the most addicting and action filled game I’ve played in a long time. Although the concept of shooting basic 3D shapes may turn some away and seem odd, everyone who has played it yet praises this game. Why is that you ask? Well as I said, the gameplay and replayability is honestly incredible. With so many types of pills, guns, maps, enemies, and bosses, no two runs will be the same. Did I mention there is over 1000 XP levels to grind out to unlock 3 OTHER GAMEMODES and too many cheats to count? Not only that but beating the main gamemode each time gives you a secret reward to make future runs that much more crazy. The gameplay itself is satisficing, addicting, and insane. Certain pill combos will make the game go crazy and make you wonder what the hell even happened. Before you realize it, you’ll have 20+ hours on a game of shooting shapes and moving up “multiverses.” Go buy this game. It’s amazing!

Blood and Gold: Caribbean!

Blood and Gold: Caribbean!

Tl&dr: whatever you expect from this game (M&B battle style, trading), search for it somewhere else, it is not difficult to find something better.

Mount & Blade engine, extended trading system, naval combat, main story… sounds perfect, what could go wrong? These were my thoughts when I bought this game and I got my answer very quick.. too quick. Everything can go wrong.

Honestly, it feels like someone took Mount & Blade, Sid Meier’s Pirates and Port Royale, stripped all the good parts from all these games and then mashed them together.

Ok, so my review is basically a bug list that needs fixing from the devs:

Crashes when trying to retreat during special missions. Being able to see the battle play out is ok, but your maps often mess up the pathing, and then it can take forever. There’s no way back to the menu screen then.

Not being able to control your men during special missions. If you ask me to do a 31 v 31 skirmish with native gear against armed enemies, then letting me use the basic mount and blade commands would be nice
