Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge

Bad Rats: the Rats' Revenge

Let’s make this clear. This game is my life. And no, this isn’t satire so grow up a little bit and understand passion when you see it. I have logged over 730+ hours and I intend to log thousands more. Not only do I play this game daily, but I put over 30+ hours a week into it at the minimum. If you can do math like me that puts it at about 4.28571429 hours a day. (no I didn’t use a calculator, I can do math in my head.) Anyone who is just staring out on steam should get this game. It’s cheap and user friendly. Not to mention is is only O N E dollar! That is incredible! I have gifted this game probably 10 times and I’ll do it again. I’m also a moderator in the Bad Rats discord, which I am highly proud of. I worked tirelessly to get that position and I think I’m close to getting admin. Anyways, no matter the type of gamer you are, Bad Rats is for you. Just don’t think you’ll ever be as good as me. Please give this game a chance to change your life like it did to mine.

Stick RPG 2: Director’s Cut

If you enjoyed the first stick rpg then you will likely enjoy this one.

Part of me does feel however, that this sequel went away from some of the charm that made the first game so fun. For example, you no longer feel a sense of progression as you move up the numerous career ladders. Remember your voice message in the first game? There is none of that in this game. And it’s funny, because you literally have a cell phone on your person. Such a missed opportunity.

House upgrades are not a thing anymore. You simply have the option of owning three houses. Even in the first stick rpg, there were upgrades you could buy that would give you a bonus. The only upgrades you can get in this game is just a bed, an alarm clock, and yeah… that’s it.

Stick RPG 2 is a fun little timewaster. Not worth the $20 price for sure, but if you can snatch it on sale and remember playing it or the original, go for it. Otherwise? Pass.

Quick rundown of what this has that the Flash game doesn’t.

  • A fourth screen for late game content

  • More careers, weapons, quests, homes and other little things. The game has essentially been expanded by like, 33%.

  • Cheats to play the game more quickly

  • Offline or online saves. There’s no reason, IMO, to ever use online saves as you have to login each time you boot up the game.

Bubsy Two-Fur

Bubsy Two-Fur

For the time, the game had purrfectly acceptable level design; it just didn’t age well in the face of the relatively homogenized (milk pun? Sure, let’s go with that), and, honestly, much betfur ubiquitious one-lane, always-move-right standard we have today.

So, think the level design is bad? Keep dying on the first stage? I can actually get to stage 7 with all nine lives, at this point, and I’ll tell you how.

Think of every level as having 4+ “planes”, none of which necessarily intfuract with one another well. There’s sometimes a “dungeon” plane, there’s the ground, there’s the roof-plane, and there are usually 2-3 regions above the roofs.

I’ve seen so many people claim that Bubsy games are suposedly awful, but to my surprise, these two aren’t as bad as I expected it to be. Wouldn’t really call them masterpieces in any way, but they are actually pretty decent. I personally enjoyed the games despite them being ridiculously hard at times since it’s a one hit instadeath sorta type of deal you get with it, but thankfully it comes with a save state feature that makes things much more easier.

My only major problems are that the audio has a mild issue, in which a cracking sound appears every couple minutes or so and as for the gameplay itself; In the first game, it feels like Bubsy is running on ice 24/7, which gets really annoying at some points and you can get killed off-camera by certain obstacles since the camera is way too zoomed in on Bubsy. Speaking of things that can kill you, some seemingly innocent looking things can kill you as well, like a bubble gum machine or a brightly colored, round shaped innocent looking car, which is confusing as hell when you first play the game. However, in Bubsy II, it is a big improvement and abstains from certain mistakes Bubsy I tended to make. Overall it’s a 7/10 buy and I would especially recommend getting it if it’s on sale.

Bad Rats Show

Bad Rats Show

I got this game while I was in still living with my roommate, Joey. He was a bit of a spazz, due to his autism but, my cousin was like that and I could deal. We lived together for about 2 years, and nothing really went wrong. He did fine, socially, and so did I. On like the last day I was gonna be living there, in a drunken haze with a few of my friends that we decided to do a really shitty prank of sorts on him. Basically, my friend Rashawn had a rat infestation go on and he decided to save the rat corpses to just throw them on someone and we decided it would be funny to do it then on Joey. Joey was out doing some project or just chilling with friends, idk. He’d usually just chill with the people in art school. We just hid in the house, he got home a bit earlier than usual so we had to improvise and just hide in a closet or two and wait for him to get to his room and spring our trap. After waitin a bit, we came out of the closet to see him playing some game on the computer, it was perfect. We crept forward and just dumped the rats on him, then proceded to jump around screaming “WAKA FLOCKA, WAKA FLOCKA, WAKA FLOCKA, WAKA FLOCKA, WAKA FLOCKA FLAME BRIIIIIIIIIIIIICCKKKKSQQQQQQQUAAAAAAAAADDDDDD.”

I’m sure if you’ve looking at this particular store page you have already know that Bad Rats Show is in fact a very bad game. You’ve looked at all the people who have played it for 20 minutes and had a nice chuckle at all the funny anecdotes on how broken and ugly this game is.

This review however will be in fact an actual review of this game judging it’s merits and faults.

For those unaware of the history of this franchise Bad Rats is a notorious game on Steam that became the joke of many users. Often during Steam Sales or even at full price people will buy this game in bulk and send to all there friends as a “gift”. Of course anyone who would actually play Bad Rats will almost immediately realize the extremely low quality, terrible performance and awful graphics. Now because of the huge amounts of sales this game have gain due to this little inside joke the developers of Bad Rats decided to bless us with it’s sequel: Bad Rats Show.

Pathologic Classic HD

Pathologic Classic HD

Hands down, the best game I have ever played!

Pathologic is a very ambitious, very unique, genre-bending, medium-defining video game which does things no other game has done before or since. It is also devilishly vague, extremely difficult, incredibly slow and takes place entirely within one small greyish town over a period of about 30 hours. But as you go on you realise its incredibly slow pacing, its single greyish location, its trudging from one place to another are all essential to creating such an incredible atmosphere and game.

This game already has thousands of reviews for it, and nobody is likely to read this one, so I’m not sure why I’m bothering to write it. Then again, I’m not sure why I bought this game to begin with, or played it, or dedicated myself to completing all three scenarios and collecting every achievement over 70 grueling hours. In for a penny, in for a pound, I guess.

Actually, I lied a bit there. I know why I bought this game, if nothing else. Like many here, I heard about Pathologic when its remake/sequel came out, and several popular YouTube channels featured intriguing summations of the game and declared it a lost gem. Despite their praise, though, the videos were almost pitched as dares, warning potential players about the game’s infinite rough edges, grinding difficulty, and uniquely eccentric approach to the relationship between the player and the game. Depending on how deep you go down the Pathologic rabbit hole, the fourth wall will be anything from ‘leaned on’ to ‘completely bulldozed.’

Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015: Do You Still Shower With Your Dad

Shower With Your Dad Simulator 2015: Do You Still Shower With Your Dad

This year was my freshman year at college. I was in a new environment, without any friends, studying a degree that was created last year. The success of the degree itself is largely uncertain, but it’s what I’m passionate about, so that’s gotta count for something -right?

The first couple weeks of college were dull and uneventful. I would wake up, shower, have breakfast, leave for my lectures. Cruise through the day, learning and working well. When I got home I would type my notes, have some food, and then work on any assignments -if there were no assignments due, I would watch some TV or jam something on Steam.

One of the greatest games i’ve ever played in my life, My father was lost during the war so I never had the chance to shower with him. Now that i’m 22 years old i’ve always felt as if something was missing in my life. This game has filled the void.

Edit: For those who are unaware, my goal is to hit 10,000 hours within the game, because then, by Gladwell’s standards I have mastered showering with my Dad.

Edit: We have hit the 7,000 hours mark, only 3,000 hours left! I started this journey roughly 10 months ago and I must say that I am very greatful to all of the support from the showering community, i’ve received some very kind motivation from many people. This has honestly been a life changing experience for me and again thank you everyone for following me on this path to enlightenment

Disney’s Chicken Little

Disney’s Chicken Little

Unironically the most amazing game i have ever played in my many years of existence. Each level and environment is masterfully crafted as if created by a God. I could easily spend thousands of hours on this game due to its immense replay value. Only hardcore gamers will be able to complete and truly appreciate all of the intricate details that were included in this masterpiece. However i will say that this game has come with its drawbacks, my wife left me the other day because i was too dedicated to chicken little. Although initially i was rather upset, i soon realised that chicken little was all that mattered to me and was therefore more important than her. All in all id say that you must play this game as it is objectively the best creation by man. Just be prepared for the toll that it will take on a mortals life. 10/10

This is the worst game I have ever played in my entire life, I played Memetyper from this godawful platform and this is the actual worst thing I have ever played in my life. The animations are so slow and laggy that it looks like slow motion its so awful. I literally got stuck on the 3rd level of the game because the animation was so slow that I didn’t have time to react to a locker falling to jump over and dodge it. How the actual fuck does a company like disney manage to mess this up so much. I get disney isnt that great as a company but how do you do this. I quit the game when I got to the level where you chase the fish on the star. I got to the river and the leaves wouldn’t come so i could finish the game. I COULDN’T BEAT FUCKING CHICKEN LITTLE ON STEAM. JESUS CHRIST DISNEY HOW DO YOU DO THIS. for the love of god please spend your money on something better, even Memetyper is better than this hellhole.

Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch.1 Onikakushi

Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch.1 Onikakushi

First, a brief note to the uninitiated:

This is not a pleasant story, whatever the screenshots may have led you to believe. Beneath the veneer of a cheesy, run-of-the-mill school-comedy lies a cruel world of madness, terror, and violence. Major characters die routinely; sometimes on-screen, sometimes off, but never in a peaceful manner. Nonetheless, it is a highly compelling experience, and very rewarding if you can endure to the end of the series. If this intrigues you, feel free to read on, but those looking for nothing more than a stereotypical anime-harem-style rom-com would do well to look elsewhere. Higurashi may resemble that on a superficial level, but this is a series that delights in letting the reader think they know what is going on, even as it brings the façade crumbling down around them.

YU-NO: A girl who chants love at the bound of this world

Story time : The first time I’ve heard about this game was actually in the form of an anime around autumn 2019. Ironically, I happened to come across a game sharing the same title as the anime so I decided to play the game instead of watching the anime. No I didn’t play it directly but few months after, around April 2020 I was so bored and looking for a new game to spend my lockdown better. That’s when steam recommended this game to me and I remembered about buying it the previous year. It was just out of coincidence that I launched the game due to my pc not being able to run others I was planning to play. I came in knowing nothing about the game and thought it was just a meh Visual novel. However, the reviews on steam were pretty good. My first impressions when launching the game were kinda disappointing but that changed rather quickly when the fan service was introduced pretty fast. At that time I didn’t know what was going to happen and I for sure didn’t for see it becoming my best game of all time.

Yu-No is a excellent visual novel that is a must play.

Yu-No is a excellent visual novel. The story had me interested from start to finish. You play as a man named Takuya. Your father passes away in a rockslide incident prior to the start of the game. Shortly after, Takuya gets a package in the mail from his supposedly deceased father. The letter tells Takuya of history and the flow of time and about a gift to Takuya. In the box Takuya finds a device called the Reflector Device. Using the Reflector Device Takuya is able to transfer between time, space and parallel dimensions. After this happens, many mysterious things begin happening in the town the game takes place in called Sakaimachi. People begin getting killed by lightning bolts on the coastline, a construction company has begun a operation and rumors are spreading safety regulations are not being followed leading to people dying. Near Sakaimachi is a triangular mountain called Sword Cape that seems to be thousands of years old possibly holding secrets to the origin of the human species and world, a rumor of a curse is going around about a samurai mansion being haunted, rumors that the mayor of Sakaimachi is corrupt and much more.

The achievements are grindy, but the overall gameplay is enjoyable. At first, I was not all to in to the story till about chapter 4, it took a while for the pace of the story to take my interest.

The game is a 3rd person shooter with some controlled sexual elements. The sexual elements consists mainly stripping and teasing. The teasing portion of the game is set in another portion of the game called Intensive Drilling. There is solo, double, and reverse Intensive Drilling’s. Solo is with one of the ladies, double is with two ladies, and reverse is when a lady teases you instead.

Nothing is going to come of this, because nowadays when it comes to game developers and game publishers no matter what because anime inspired games more likely than others seem to be nothing but cut, copy, paste, slap together, and forget for the rest of the games existence ill start with things that really need changed to improve the overall games experience, some of these are opinionated but I’m sure a good majority others would agree with.

Needs:

  • Improve “Buddy’s” AI to be more than just a toaster and possibly move around a little while firing so that they aren’t always sitting ducks needing to be saved (I don’t care if it’s technically not required and the game isn’t particularly difficult to even need one, but if there’s going to be AI partners at least have them actually try to be of assistance).
