Garfield Kart

Garfield Kart

“I don’t think any word can explain a man’s life,” says one of the searchers through the warehouse of treasures left behind by Jonathan Arbuckle. Then we get the famous series of shots leading to the closeup of the word “Garfield” on a kart that has been tossed into a furnace, its paint curling in the flames. We remember that this was Arbuckle’s childhood kart, taken from him as he was torn from his family and sent east to boarding school.

Garfield is the emblem of the security, hope and innocence of childhood, which a man can spend his life seeking to regain. It is the green light at the end of Gatsby’s pier; the leopard atop Kilimanjaro, seeking nobody knows what; the bone tossed into the air in “2001.” It is that yearning after transience that adults learn to suppress. “Maybe Garfield was something he couldn’t get, or something he lost,” says Lyman, the reporter assigned to the puzzle of Arbuckle’s dying word. “Anyway, it wouldn’t have explained anything.” True, it explains nothing, but it is remarkably satisfactory as a demonstration that nothing can be explained. “Garfield Kart” likes playful paradoxes like that. Its surface is as much fun as any mascot kart racer ever made. Its depths surpass understanding. I have analyzed it a frame at a time with more than 30 groups, and together we have seen, I believe, pretty much everything that is there on the screen. The more clearly I can see its physical manifestation, the more I am stirred by its mystery.

When I was 18… 18 years old, I saw for the first time in my life… I saw an image of clarity. I saw a comic strip… a three panel comic strip that, though simple as it seemed, changed me… changed my being, changed who I am… Made me who I am…

Enlightened me…

The strip, Garfield, the comic strip was new… no more than maybe a month and a half since inception, since… since coming into existence… and there it was before me in print, I saw it… a comic strip… What was it called?

Garfield Kart - Furious Racing

Thirty seven hours, thirty seven hours is all it takes to see god. Have you ever seen something so magical, so wonderful, that your mind cant help but look back on what could have been. In my thirty seven hours of game-play in “Garfield Kart - Furious Racing” my soul felt as though it left my body. Soon all I could see was Garfield, my toilet, Garfield, my table, Garfield, even my entire house was transforming into Garfield. It was at that moment I realized, it was him, right behind me, staring into my eyes menacingly. I tried to run away but my world began to crumble, the floors collapsed as I fell fifty feet into what seemed to be a massive cooked lasagna, the landing was rough but I seemed to come to my senses quickly. It was then I turned to my left to see Garfield’s massive dong swinging from side to side, his eyes locking onto me as he slammed it down onto the lasagna, I tried to run as quickly as possible but his dong began to suck me in, I screamed as I tried to escape, but no one could hear me. Soon I was being slurped down by his massive sausage, my screams slowly becoming muffled as everything turned black, it was over. Although I am still currently engulfed in Garfield’s massive nuts I cant deny loving every second of it, if your a fellow Garfield lover and love big nuts covered in lasagna please by all means purchase thirty seven copies for you all of your friends, 10/10 would play again, oh also nerf Odie that dude OP as hell.

Rating: 10/10

This game is an absolute masterpiece, it will forever be S-Tier to me. It’s a competitive game solely based on who has better aim, cutting out the middle man like most games. Though old, the graphics and maps are very stunning and iconic. This game is not for everyone because it’s hard to master the different weapons, a lot of the players are top tier, and the game sadly isn’t very popular anymore, so consider all when buying.

Ridiculously simple idea makes for ridiculous fun! Awesome game that deserves more traction and attention than it gets. May seem like a one trick pony, but with so many modifiers it really isn’t.

I grabbed this up on a sale thinking if it wasn’t great, it was a small loss. We added it to our party games for a group of 8 people (4 at a time, using Steam Link + Controllers).

It was a surprise favorite! Everyone loved it, and we ended up coming back to it several times after playing other games.

It’s great fun, highly recommended for any party gaming group, especially since it’s such a simple concept everyone picks it up quickly, but the skill to do those tight areas well will keep the game challenging for any group!

Always enjoyed playing Snake, first on my Nokia 8310, and then 3600 (remembered the model number for the latter, as I bizarrely included it in a sketch for my answering service message, but had to look up the former—N O S T A L G I A).

This game has everything you loved about those versions, enhanced by (optional) power-ups, local multiplayer (up to 6) and a plethora of modes and modifiers to keep things interesting. A couple of my fav. settings, should you care to try them, are “Pew Pew Tailless,” on “Super Fast” (second fastest) game speed, and “Tail Runner,” on “Slow.”

Discovered this game probably back in 2006 or so after Googling a bunch of games with the word ‘stick’ in it because I was like 10 and it was hilarious to me. Extremely simple in design but it’s easy to get caught up playing for hours. Nostalgia is playing a big factor so this is definitely a biased review but regardless I’d love to see this game come alive again with new players.

Ricochet

Ricochet

I have achieved the greatest milestone in all of Ricochet. Unlike other players who have only experienced the glory of Ricochet for 5 minutes of their unproductive waste of lives, I have achieved the euphoric life changing exception to human flaws known as Ricochet for more than 1,200 hours.

Ricochet has brought me many gifts, and one of those gifts granted to me is my burned retinas, allowing a new way of peering into this world, for example, you filthy subspecies can look at something and see smooth seams and vertices, but to me, every defined corner has a distinct glow illuminating even the darkest of voids with the same semblance of a low polygonal object. The people around me are no longer just people to me, for every person I see is just a target waiting for the sweet release of a flung Laserdisc to decapitate them, breaking them from their meager existence that have been ignorant to the touch formed by the greatest thing our Creator Lord Gaben has granted to us.

When my wife left me and took full custody of all 26 of my Irish children, I almost lost it. I became suicidal, cutting deep into my wrists and wishing the emotional turmoil would end. I opened up my computer and planned to have one last good time before I ended my pain-stricken and worthless life. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a notification popped up on my desktop, a steam gift, I could only wonder what it was. I finally used my last essence of courage and wonder I had left in my battered and bruised body to open it. Ricochet emerged on my screen. ♥♥♥♥ it, I might as well have some fun on my last day of measly existence. I downloaded and opened the game. A flash of colour, the amazing soundtrack, enjoyment. I came to the epiphany that it had not been a worthless journey. I had rediscovered Jesus. No not Jesus, one who is greater than he, the legendary Gaben. I played it for hours on end. Win after Win. My wife came to her senses and realised the sexy alpha male she was missing out on. She came home, all my children in her hands.
