You drag yourself from the black tides, across the corpses of drowned men, and onto the unwelcoming, craggy shoreline. Gulls cry overhead and the stink of seaweed fills your nose. By some miracle you have made it to Idra. It will take all your skill to survive and unravel the eldritch mysteries of the Black Priory. Pray your sanity holds.

The Story of Skald: A Dream Come True
Skald is the dream-project of a lone Norwegian developer, AL.
AL missed the thrill of delving into grand, immersive games such as ‘Ultima’, ‘Magic Candle’, ‘Wasteland’ and the Gold Box series. When he noticed the lack of newer roleplaying games that combined the classic (early 90s) charm with more modern game design he decided to take matters into his own hands.
AL set to work crafting the game of his dreams.
A highly successful Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaign with 700 backers, and a fast-growing community of passionate fans proves he made the right call.

Interesting little time management/dating sim game. The art and sprites are pretty original. There are a few points that could be polished and maybe add some saucier H features, but overall its quality is above other chinese games of the genre. I believe this is the first title published on Steam by the dev, I’m certainly in for future releases or more DLCs for this title.

Hero Lilith
Did about 5 hours today and had a great time playing. It’s EA so not tons of content but it’s amusing the entire time.
Dialogue is pretty funny.
Graphics are good.
Game play was smooth.
The dungeons and weapons were fun to experience.
Some Frame rate hitching and invisible walls though.
Overall, I’m not sad I bought it and am looking forward to updates!

The Waylanders
BACK TO THE GAME!
I’ve put the Waylanders on the shelf for a couple months, and can now say that the game has become much more lpayable and enjoyable.
-
There’s a coherent plot now - cutscenes, voices and quest lines are mostly where they should be.
-
Graphics has become better too.
-
Some nice quests have made the progress more alive.
-
GOBLINS! Goblins are adorable.
-
The party members now have more distinctive character traits and interesting quests.
Now I can say that i’m really looking forward to seeing the final product.

As a long-time Bioware fan, a lover of ancient Celtic history (seriously, Amergin being in the game sold it for me, literally), and someone who has been severely disappointed by the most recent rpg offerings, I am very excited to be a part of early access and look forward to the game’s development.
What I love So Far:
-Camera options. I don’t do first person (motion sickness), and I love being able to close in for a more over the shoulder look while exploring.
-Dialogue between characters. I was hoping for a more traditional/historical flow, but the vivid personalities of the characters are already evident and leave me wanting more.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
This game is awesome! I am replaying it after a few months playing other games right now and giving the turn based system a try. it is great. the combat is different if you play turn based or real time with pause so you can experience two different game styles. i think that it would be a lot better if you had both in one play-through but then again by not having it they make different stats more important for different modes. like dex is more important in RTWP and is absolutely useless in turn based mode, unless you just want to go first every round.

Agarest: Generations of War
Since this is currently my longest played games on Steam and maybe you won’t find a person with a longer hours count in the review section, I think I am kind of obligated to give this game a bit of review. The recommend vs not recommended system on Steam is fundamentally flawed. I would only point out what kind of games this is, and you decide for yourself whether you like it or not.
1. This is the type of “Wikia for the win” game. Don’t let my hours count fool you. I spent at least 50+ hours on researching for all the tricks, crafting and story route on Wikia. And this is very typical of your old-school RPG or JRPG in general. You need to do homework, you need to do research. The hours you spent outside the game is MUCH MUCH more important than your gaming hours. If you are the kind of person who just go and immerse yourself in the game world and you don’t care much about research game mechanics, this is bad for you.

After 213 hours and reaching the “normal” ending, it’s time for a review. To start with, it wasn’t a perfect experience. The game is rough around the edges and you should only buy it if you enjoy grinding a lot. There’s plenty of it. Endless hours of mandatory leveling and gathering materials. But Agarest has enough redeeming traits to make up for this.
Short version
-
fully voiced
-
lots of fan service

Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Enhanced Plus Edition
Kingmaker is rough around some edges, with a few changes to the tabletop rules that aren’t clearly stated to the player. (If you’re unfamiliar with Pathfinder, it is a variant of Dungeons and Dragons.) A large number of frustrations I have often come from either the interface not being great at explaining when something is different, or not explaining anything at all until you’re in another menu. (A game like Pathfinder really demands a character creation/level up screen that lets you preview your whole build from levels 1-20 just to get an idea of what you’re doing.)

As a cRPG this is an excellent game - great characters, great companions, great stories - main plot and companions - and a combat system that works.
As a game, it’s a mish mash of systems, ideas and a rigidly enforced ruleset that sadly overwhelms that content a little. It is a massively long game with 6 distinct acts that do not flow one after another, but intersperse themselves with a poorly explained Kingdom building mechanic that ultimately just doesn’t work and really, really gets in the way of the rest of the game. Making numbers get bigger doesn’t really make for a compelling experience, but if you don’t do it you’ll get yourself in a right mess and the game will end. It has no respect for your time as a gamer at all, and will test the very limits of your patience.

Your amazing T-Gotchi!
This game is AWSOME! If you are a gamer like me who loves games like Doki Doki Literature club and Danganronpa, (Basically games that have mature topics like death) then I definitely recommend this game for you! Its short but sweet, and its pretty cute. The Tamagotchi you are taking care of has a sweet personality and can be a little possessive (fine a lot but still who can blame her) To be honest, its not worth the 5 dollars, so try to get it on sale (I got it at 50% off). As I said above, it looks like a cute game so if you are looking for exactly that, I do not recommend you play it. Happy playing!

well, this game was certainly an interesting mental test and an exercise to futility…
(SPOILERS BELOW)
it was an emotional rollercoaster, and while at first i had hopes of giving her a happy or a better ending, all (early) attempts ended in disaster.
then, i tried to earn the other achievements, so i had to treat her badly in order to complete the games achievements.
it was a very thought provoking game, and it got into some very dark places.
its strange how you see a digital character, a character that doesnt exist, and yet it can cause you so much sadness when she suffers or when she is feeling hopeless and alone/depressed.

Grimoire : Heralds of the Winged Exemplar (V2)
Grimoire is a tile based dungeon crawler that seeks to mimic Wizardry 7, one of the staples of the genre.
While it suffers from the usual problems a game made by a single person would… like some numbers needing to be tweaked here and there, some flags to be set for an item or an NPC, some UI quality of life additions… While all that, it manages to be a game game. A real game.
Today the market is overflowing with many Don Quijote’s setting off to create one spiritual sequel after the other and the results are sadly vaporware. Not this game. This game is a game game. Was Arcanum buggy on release ? Yes. Knights of the Old Republic 2 ? Sure. VTMB:Bloodlines ? Most definitely. That didn’t change the fact that they were squarely over that boundary that sets apart hobby projects and professional games. And Grimoire is too.

I really wish I hadn’t bought this game. Yes, I’m going to be a wee bit harsh. All this game does is teach you lessons in futility and frustration. I can’t even begin to tell you all of the myriad and varying ways this game has stacked the deck against the player to make the game more or less impossible. Oh, I know some people have logged a lot of hours - but either they’re playing the same starting area over and over thinking they’ll win eventually (they won’t) or they are the die-hards who enjoy banging their heads against immovable objects all day or - they’ve found ways to hack the game and cheat. Keep in mind that I am willing to edit my review and give it a thumbs-up should the dev change some of these annoying mechanics, but I get the impression the dev would rather slam his fingers repeatedly in his car door than admit to there being something wrong with his game. (Just kidding, dev!)
