Fit For a King

Fit For a King

Fit For a King is a relatively short game but is definitely an enjoyable experience. The whole game is centred around the summit that you will be throwing and your main goal is to outspend your rival.

Like the trailer says, you can pretty much do anything, from executing a foreign ambassador to marrying a literal piece of sh- ahem refuse.

At times it can seem a bit aimless and it can be hard to find the clues to get things you need but otherwise is quite fun and definitely worth a play.

The game has a weak and slow start, don’t let this dissuade you. The controls are dated and supposed to feel like a mid to late 80’s crpg, but are way more straight forward and easy to understand then those ever were back then without 200 page manuals. Once you can get a good grasp of the controls the game opens up and the gameplay starts. For the most part it’s a puzzle game with some loot hunting in it. The humor is pretty good and the mix of both serious and silly just strikes that perfect balance. It’s only really down fall and biggest selling point is that it’s short and sweet and complete. It left me wanting more, which is rare for most game these days. It made me want to give ultima another shot or some other Crpgs. I guess some minor things that made me sad was that while there was a ton of lines for the NPCs I wish there was more , and by extension more tasks or quests. (Spoiler) Another minor thing was that it’s never explained in game that some walls can be walked through as a sort of secret entrance.

One of the best early access games on Steam!

The gameplay is fantastic, the dialogue is witty and funny, the lore of the game is pretty deep and it has super charming graphics. Very very few bugs, super smooth experience overall and most of the the little upgrades I thought the game could benefit from have been confirmed by the devs to be on their to-do list.

Game currently has 5-7 hours of gameplay with a final 20-30h planned. I should add that I’m 10hrs in and still have not finished the current Early Access content.

This is hopefully only a tempoary rating. I do like this game but right now I can’t recommend it.

Its suppose to be a strategy game. Yet it actively works against stretegy.

1. Why do my RANGED attackers, move almost to melee range. The enemies have abilities like Cleave and even my ranged characters like to perfectly group up, and you have 0 control over positioning. They should be getting some distance, not Move closer.

2. Characters change their targets. One of the most common strategies is to focus fire down one enemy. Sometimes they attack the enemy nearby, This might be about engagment, but I have 0 control of where the enemey moves, and I can’tposition my own characters.

Super Army of Tentacles 3: The Search for Army of Tentacles 2: Black GOAT of the Woods Edition

THE LOVECRAFT APOCALYPSE IS TOTES ON.

The Old Gods are cold. Calculating. Ever waiting. Ever patient. Slumbering towards that day in which the cosmic apocalypse beckons.

And then somebody just has to pull a Leroy Jenkins and start the fun early.

Perry Hollycraft has been called out of “retirement” (i.e. the death plane known as the Dreamlands) in order to figure out what Old God did what, when, and why. The rest of the pantheon isn’t too happy that the apocalypse has been called early. With Gods fighting among themselves in a bid to take advantage of the situation, and the rules thrown out the window, Perry has more than their work cut out for them. Who do you trust (your party members, probably)? Where do you turn (the available hub areas)? How many endings in this game actually differ from one another (we cut it down from twelve to five, but mileage may vary)? Do your choices matter (it depends on how you define “matter” in the context of a video game)? When will this structure of questions end (now)?

To destroy humanity, they’ll need to save it.

  • All the DLC from the non-GOAT Edition! All the Outfits! All the quests!

  • The second game in the non-award winning series!

  • Broadcast in glorious 1920x1080!

  • A brand new, 100% deeper Argument System!

  • What’s more revolutionary than a silent protagonist for the first game? How about a COMPLETELY SILENT SEQUEL?!?! LIKE, RIGHT????

  • 15 party members, ranging from Army 1 party to Army 1 NPCs to newbies!

  • More skill options and more attributes!

NOTE: Contains mild language and mature themes such as innuendo, drug use, etc.; nothing TOO explicit.

10% of all sales go towards St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Shattering Obsidian

Shattering Obsidian

By the end of my time with Shattering Obsidian, the main character, a native, conscientious healer-type, was becoming cynical and rather merciless due to the tragedy surrounding her, It didn’t have to be this way, it was because of my choices, which I hope are carried forward to the next chapter.

Really enjoyed this. Great story, leaving you wanting for more, in chapter 3!!

I highly recommend this game.

A brilliant adventure game- sort of a hybrid rpg and ‘point and click.’ I don’t want to spoil it, but you can’t help but be drawn in to the story. Chapter 1 is more fantasy focused, but heart-wrenching. Chapter 2 is where it gets very steampunky- where the need to know what happens next becomes tantalising!!!

I can’t wait for chapter 3!

Slave RPG

Slave RPG

A fun game with a unique look. You start with a big debt and have to earn your freedom by earning money through various methods. Like mining or fighting in an arena or looting ruined cities. It mixes sci-fi with fantasy. For instance you can be playing as an orc and fighting a robot. It’s a game I very much recommend.

Love this game. The basic premise of this game is you play as a slave and you need to fight to work off your debt while learning about what happened to you. Now you can level up, you can fight mutated beings, attack npcs (with a perk) and more but It needs a lot more content I am 3 hours into the game and its starting to look like I am almost done with the second tier of arena and just need to find out where I came from there are no other arenas no crazy quests(that I have found) its just kind of there. If the devs decide to come back some day what I hope they add is-

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness

Cant recommend this yet. I have no problems with the usual early access stuff; broken game mechanics, bugged quests, and balance issues. Those are all easy to fix. However, I do have some main concerns that the small dev team may or may not be able to fix for main release:

1. Performance issues. Long load times and poor frame rates on high end machines with SSDs. Not acceptable from a game that looks like 1998. Since you get a loading screen every time you enter/exit an area or building, long loading times severely impact the overall experience. Pretty much every streamer who streamed this said the same thing.

Party-based computer rpg similar to NWN, Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, et al. If you like those type this game should fit your needs. It is RTwP for those who only play one type of combat.

I think there is enough here to support for sure:

Pros:

Quite a large variety of stuff to find for the hoarder in all of us.

Melee combat is fairly robust and healing gets the job done.

The painted map backgrounds are mostly pretty.

Good variety in classes.

I will cover cons in detail since they need fixing:

Hero Lilith

Did about 5 hours today and had a great time playing. It’s EA so not tons of content but it’s amusing the entire time.

Dialogue is pretty funny.

Graphics are good.

Game play was smooth.

The dungeons and weapons were fun to experience.

Some Frame rate hitching and invisible walls though.

Overall, I’m not sad I bought it and am looking forward to updates!

Sonucido: The Mage is inspired by recent Dungeon Crawlers but instead of a party you control one character.

Your goal is clear: Find the mage!

  • Slay Enemies: Defeat a variety of enemies with different weaknesses and strengths.

  • Replayability: Discover multiple endings and different paths through the depths of Sonucido.

  • Exploration: Look around and find potions, optional side-quests, secrets and more.

  • Bold Game Design: No inventory management, no novel-length text walls, no 30 minute tutorial.

Super Army of Tentacles 3: The Search for Army of Tentacles 2

Super Army of Tentacles 3: The Search for Army of Tentacles 2

This game plays a lot like a choose your own adventure visual novel. It has a lot of various places to explore and a multitude of quests to play through besides the main quest line. The combat in the game is either wordplay based or trivia based (much of it being US history).

I really enjoyed my playthrough of the game and will likely replay. Even though I’ve played thru it once, there still were many side quests I could go back in another playthrough to do and various options to drive the story other ways. The humour in the game was a plus for me too.

It’s 2017 and the Apocalypse is years ahead of schedule and the gods have disappeared. You, a Deep One, have awoken from the Dreamland and must find the Necronomicon before Nyarlathotep, The Crawling Chaos and his 7 gods does and restore things to how they were or bring in a new age.

Alright, so SAT3: TST2 is the third VN in the series and it’s not nearly as cool as I made it sound in the paragraph above. This VN is, at its core, pure insanity and chaos. It’s a Lovecraftian adventure where you fight monsters by answering trivia questions (Brush up on your Shakespeare.) and fly around on a floating ship/city while “fighting” Microsoft paint horror monsters and creatures. One moment you’re in Antarctica making friends with a… yeti girl with pointy teeth (?) and the next you’re challenging Alexander Hamilton to a rap battle and signing the declaration of Independence. (Reminder: It’s 2017.)
