Aspen: Uncanny Home has a beautifully rendered environment for the player to walk around in. There environment feels oppressive and claustrophobic as you wander between locations in the house wondering where a sound came from or how a doll got into a certain position.

For a psychological horror game, this is a great environment, but what this game has in environment, it lacks in player accessibility. The game doesn’t give the player direction and leads to aimless wandering in circles around the environment tying to figure out what changed each time and using the left mouse button to zoom in on specific items that change the environment to access the next area.

New Ice York

New Ice York

This game is so much more than I expected it to be. At first, playing it- I was charmed by how weird it was but after playing through it, I found myself feeling connected to this universe and the characters within it. It’s intuitive- familiar, but totally different. Refreshingly fun, and an overall great release by magicdweedo, an artist I’ve really enjoyed since Mealmate™. Make sure to check out the soundtrack, too- it’s really catchy!

New Ice York has deceptively good writing. The first chapter is unfortunately slow, which is a bad problem for a game of this length to have, but that slowness does its job of lulling you into a familiarity with the characters that it uses as a platform to build off of. NIY unfurls in a way similar to Frog Fractions or magicdweedoo’s last major game, Ticket: breaking its own rules and shuffling weird mechanics around. Where the former games engage themselves in a game of zany one-upsmanship, though, New Ice York’s treatment of mechanics is much more narrative and constrained. Detective has an oblique resemblance to Deadly Premonition’s Francis York Morgan / Twin Peak’s Dale Cooper, and similar to those stories New Ice York’s descent into surrealism takes on a personal significance in the quest of the protagonist.

Murder Diaries

Murder Diaries

An unusual idea, but at the same time very exciting. That’s what make this game unique.

I mean content-plot, it is not just a short story. MOREOVER, while playing you are getting more and more new adventures. Our task is to collect some fragments of the story and finally investigate murder.

Pros: interesting plot, good graphic, well-chosen soundtrack

Cons right now can’t be noticed by me, i might played too little time to notice them.

And to conclude, this game is something unusual, not like others one. Really good one to spend free time

The Deed: Dynasty

The Deed: Dynasty

Apparently, the Bruce family is just plain murderous, and somehow they’ve managed to pass their bloodlust along to subsequent generations. TDD improves upon the original game by offering three different scenarios that take place in different time periods. As with the original game, your goal is to successfully murder your target while framing someone else for the crime. Talking to different people and examining your surroundings provides you with the information you need in order to get away with murder; it’s just a matter of selecting the right evidence/murder weapon and bringing everything together during questioning.

The Deed is a murder mystery, except this time you’re the Murderer and you have to get away with it! If you enjoy the idea of making the perfect kill, evading and fooling the police and getting away scott free, then you should take a closer look at this game.

This release was a quite a suprise to me, I enjoyed the first game, but never expected a sequel. Fortunately its a good suprise, and anyone who enjoyed the first game will enjoy this game, with more refined gameplay and three scenarios to play instead of one.

The Journey Down: Chapter Two

The Journey Down: Chapter Two

The moment I saw this game appear on Steam front page, I grabbed The Journey Down Chapter 2. I was a big fan of the first chapter. Overall, I really liked the game and if you have played the first chapter and liked it, you should like this one too. If you haven’t played the first chapter but like or are interested in old-school point and click games, I recommend buying Chapter 1.

However I was rather disappointed with the production quality because it felt worse compared to the first chapter. If the developers happen to be reading this, please take this as constructive criticism: Few of the environments felt like they were taken straight out of the concept artist, meaning they felt like they were missing finishing touch. I found that 3D objects often didn’t blend didn’t blend well with the 3D objects.

The Journey Down is a modern take on the old school point-and-click adventure game, which draws inspiration from the golden era of adventure games (Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Leisure Suit Larry etc.). The characters are inspired by those creepy traditional African masks (Sort of like how Grim Fandango was inspired by Mexican Día de Muertos masks) and combines it with a noir setting and Rasta accents.

This game heavily relies on the environment, which, in my opinion, is a make it or break it for an adventure game. What the game lacks in story (pretty generic corrupt government tries to cover up a secret-story), the environment and atmosphere makes up for it. The hand drawn backgrounds are gorgeous, the music perfectly complements the drawn art and really adds another dimension to the noir tone of the game.

Weed Shop 2

Weed Shop 2

Although I was disappointed to find the game was no longer available on the Play Store, I found an APK ;)

Now for Weed Shop 2: Basically the same as the previous generation, PC tuned graphics still aren’t mindblowing, but they’re decent enough and bearable. Updates are still rolling out; I have to say I’m quite impressed by the presentation of such a good game from a solo developer! Keep up the great work kid! Procedurally grown weed is fun to watch; knock out burglars, and vandals, and spice vendors harassing your customers, roll and smoke joints, blunts, bongs. Mingle with people on the beach by walking outside the shop! You can even adopt a cat*!

Paradise Killer

Paradise Killer

An absolute MUST play for any fan of exploration, deduction, investigating and vaporwave games.

Paradise Island 24 is a joy to explore, especially when accompanied with the game’s amazing soundtrack.

Its characters are complex and straight out of a Metal Gear Solid meets SUDA51 marriage.

Finding the truth about what certain characters did/didn’t do made me feel bad, if I’m being honest.

Real player with 36.9 hrs in game

Paradise Killer was such a refreshing experience amid bloated AAA grindathons and I think everyone should try it.

The basis of the game is a murder mystery and finding the culprits is what you will spend most of your time on Paradise Island 24 doing. I won’t talk too much about the background of the story or the world-building because finding these things for myself was very enjoyable, but I will say that the world you inhabit is wonderfully crafted and a joy to find out about.

Paradise Killer has an 80’s Vaporwave aesthetic, which some people may not like, however I believe that even if you don’t it will start growing on you after playing this game. The music is really good, and the way you enable new tracks in the game is great, finding them as you explore the world. Overall the audio design is good, but not brilliant. As I said the music is great, but some sounds quickly got annoying especially the player characters voice lines, as the doesn’t have many so they start to repeat quickly, but the frequency of voice lines can be changed in the settings if it annoys you as well.

The Ghost Train | 幽霊列車

The Ghost Train | 幽霊列車

Visually, this game is appealing. I feel like that’s the only pro I can mention. If you’re wanting a plot in this game then you will get a plot, just expect it to be a plot hole. Basically, all you do is go to the restroom in the train station, go to the smoking area, then ride the train until you reach the very end of the game. The puzzles were okay, but the last puzzle with the items you pick up was very confusing to figure out. If anyone is stuck on that… when you pick up the items (the cane, shoes, bug cage, windmill toy, and beer can) you set them on the train seat opposite of the reflection in the window in which character they belong to. It took me forever to figure it out. The endings weren’t as immersive as with the endings in The Convenience Store & Missing Children. Overall, decent game, but it gets a bit tedious for the time you spend playing it. I highly recommend playing Missing Children and The Convenience Store instead. Those are phenomenal, plot based, and wonderful atmospheric games!

This was my first game experience from Chilla’s Art and I got to say I wish it’d happened sooner, appearantly I’m an avid J-Horror fan and I didn’t even know it before crossing this game. I ended up reading Japanese urban legends at 4 AM in the morning- besides Kisaragi I guess

! the chase part is a reference to Teke Teke. Can’t wait to play the other ones.

My cons for the game is the walking/running speed and the fact that

! getting killed or not killed by the girl not affecting the ending type you get. And I can get the reason for low speed, building up tension etc. etc. but instead of that it just straight up frustrated me, drove me to boredom at first portion of the game. It felt repetetive and laggy, but after progressing enough and getting both endings the repetetive parts felt justified.

I Make Saints (Steam Edition)

I Make Saints (Steam Edition)

This is one of the scariest games I’ve ever played. I am a horror junkie, I read horror stories, I watch horror movies, I play horror games, and 99% of the time, I’m still searching for that horror rush to be quenched.

This is that 1% where I was actually really on edge. The game does have some bugs, the card for the red lit area did not pop for me, but good lord. This game is unsettling as hell. If you REALLY like horror, you really need to play this.

Yea, I’m not sure what to say about this one. I did like the 80’s Graphics and the story seemed to be getting very interesting and disgustingly creepy. However, it seems to just go in circles then it just end with a little statement at the end. i thought this game would have more to offer but it was waaay too short and was a looped story line… I guess you can say that this game was “Somewhat” good.
