Aspen: Uncanny Home has a beautifully rendered environment for the player to walk around in. There environment feels oppressive and claustrophobic as you wander between locations in the house wondering where a sound came from or how a doll got into a certain position.

For a psychological horror game, this is a great environment, but what this game has in environment, it lacks in player accessibility. The game doesn’t give the player direction and leads to aimless wandering in circles around the environment tying to figure out what changed each time and using the left mouse button to zoom in on specific items that change the environment to access the next area.

A modest game with a lot of great stuff to it!

Characters were funny and intriguing. Plot was similar. Puzzles were fun, it felt rewarding to help Finn write jokes. Music was epic and worked flawlessly with the setting.

It has a few rough edges but it was one person’s first game and I’m excited to play more, longer, similar games as has been promised.

A very cute and modest game. Although, I wouldn’t say the characters look cute but for a one man team, it’s fairly presentable. The music was probably my favorite part about this game. The puzzle wasn’t difficult to figure out, but more so just hard to maneuver the pieces because what happened for me was the piece I was holding would move other pieces out of the way and if I let it go and try to pick it back up with a piece nearby, it would move both pieces as if they were one. It was also weird when I would try to move a piece onto the board and there would be some sort of invisible wall that kept me from doing so. Other than that, I really have no complaints except wishing the game was a little longer. Nice short mystery game. Good job and I hope there will be more to come to give me my Nancy Drew fix.
