Megaquarium

Megaquarium

Have you ever wanted to run an aquarium? You can build and manage one with Megaquarium!

If you have played any management game before you will already have an idea of what to expect: you make exhibits to let your creativity take over, manage employees, and hopefully turn a profit in the process.

While not particularly innovative, the game manages to hit enough of the right notes to be enjoyable and relaxing, especially if you fancy the idea of running an aquarium.

Fairly Realistic and Lots of Good Fun

This is a well rounded title with lots of room to grow!

Pros:

  • Accurate and realistic modeling. I keep fish as a hobby and although most of the animal husbandry mechanics are significantly simplified they are still more or less pretty accurate. Most of the fish artwork is very accurate. These are not made up fish that don’t actually exist.

  • Simulation and tycoon aspects are well thought out and satisfying. For the most part it feels like success / failures make sense. A grouper ate your anthias because they were small enough to fit in it’s mouth, makes sense!

Unholy Heights

Unholy Heights

An apartment management tower-defense game about your resident monsters against humans.

While the idea of being a landlord is enticing the tower-defense part can get incredibly tedious & repetitious since there’s not a whole lot of strategy to use here from beginning to end.

The idea of the tower-defense is just to stop humans from stealing your money and if they get away with it you only lose your highly expendable tenant should they have died defending the money taken so there’s no real fail state. You try and stop the humans by knocking on the room doors of the monsters of your choosing and IF they’re home (which most usually are) they’ll do their tower-defense thing and help kill the intruders.

Let me tell you about Popan.

Popan was the first baby ever born in my apartments. She was a Cheepy so I didn’t have high expectations. Popan was probably 3 days old when her parents died in an unfortunate ambush on my complex. I had a ton of other tenants, so I didn’t see the harm in waiting for her to grow up. Somehow, she never became in debt. This fucking baby was paying the rent. She grew up to be a total badass. She would single-handedly wipe out entire waves of enemies without breaking a sweat.

The Great Creator Raist, being as bored as he was, created 12 demi gods to keep himself entertained. They soon became bored themselves so they created a world with all kinds of races to keep themselves entertained. Filled with jealousy, but fearing rebellion, Raist manipulated the races into a false religion to fight against the demi gods. Raist then suggested the demi gods give their children magic as a reward for their loyalty and to combat this new false religion that was threatening the will of the gods. When the demi gods realized that the Raist was the one behind the false religion, they took all the magic from their childen and used it to destroy The Great Creator. To the devs:

BRAVO! I’m excited coming back and reading all of the news. No more striking, more animal parts, caves coming soon, better loop audio for effects, stamina, sprinting? All totally amazing. the one game I can truly say that they devs are indeed listening. Talk about fast development. Good job on the game guys! Hugs to you all and thx for the hard effort and dedication towards this project. I’m sure plenty of people are really excited. I know I am. :DD

Cheers!!

My recommendation:

I have to say I posted many suggestions and so did many other people. The game has a dedicated team. This is a family orientated game. Imagine a santbox game where you can truly be your own version of franskenstein. No other game has taken it this far before. I totally recommend it even in it’s current stage. Well worth the money spent. If anything it’s too cheap for what you get already. You never have a feeling of being ripped off. Check out the news sections in community hub to see all the fixed and additions they add so frequently. Imagine the possibilities with a game like this. TOo many games fit into the block style genre but not many that stick out as unique as this one with the ability to make your own creations and bring them to life when you make a new creature. Imagine a floating or flying tutle or blimp animal that can hold your home? This game keeps evolving. I suggest it for families as well. The game looks amazing and handles well. The devs work hard and they listen. Truly an amazing experience. And with so much more to come! Stay tuned as it developes further! :DD

CHKN is really neat game. I would personally recomend it to anybody who enjoys games like Minecraft, SPORE, and just enjoy the Sandbox Survival Genre and want a breath of fresh air from the many, many copy past sanbox games out there.

The Game: The thing that makes CHKN such a fun game is the fact that it’s “creature buulding” aspect of this game. It really is a handsome feauture when you’re a guy like me who just wants to build some wonderus (or sometimes goofy) looking beasts and plants.

The Atmosphere: It’s very childlike in nature. Beautiful looking little island filled with goofy species of monsters and critters. It’s just fun to explore the place after a new update and see what waky beasts the devs (who are super-nice) cook up in the lab. Speaking of which…

Let’s Build a Zoo

Let’s Build a Zoo

I Can’t Recommend Let’s Build a Zoo (As it is Now), Here’s Why…

If you had asked me at about 40 hours of gameplay I would have said that I recommend this game for everyone, it’s fun, quirky, original and addicting. I enjoy the morale and unlocking aspect, especially. However the longevity of the game is severely lacking because as you progress, all the little issues begin to pile up and the game becomes unplayable.

Issues such as:

  • The notification system is bothersome at best, but mostly annoying. If you have one issue it doesn’t flash “Trash” once and go away, it keeps popping out every 10 seconds, it’s too much, visually.

The fact that this game came out 5 days ago and I already put 21 hours into it (despite going to uni and studying) is probably telling enough of how much I adore this game. Despite many other games from my wishlist (and a huge Animal Crossing DLC) releasing, I was the most hyped to play this and I wasn’t disappointed.

I always wanted a pure zoo game, since playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and always building zoos instead. Unfortunately most zoo tycoon games were rated as too shallow, repetitive, etc. This game fixes that by adding several unique mechanics such as breeding and - once you discover all 10 variations of the same species - crossing them with each other and creating all new types of animals. (They’re pretty much the head of one animal on the body of the other, which is super fun)

Monster Harvest

Monster Harvest

Should I recommend this game yes or no? I played about 50 hours of it.

But this game feels very early access. It is fine for the price.

Don’t expect too much though.

Here are my pros/cons.

Pros:

-Monster farming/fighting is integrated in the gameplay loop, unlike Stardew Valley where it feels more like an afterthought/removed from the actual gameplay.

-The world is more phantasy like. You don’t have your typical normal farmlife but instead you farm eyes and skulls. Especially the Dark season is very Halloween. Yes there are only 3 seasons: Dry, wet, and dark.

Hello,

I am quite conflicted about this game.

I really like the concept of Monster Harvest. It’s different from the usual. It’s like a mix between moonlighter (for the dungon part) but with planimals for fighters (a bit like pokemon) and harvest moon, stardew velley, peaceful days, etc… for the farming / townfolks part.

And that is a good idea. But there are a lot of itching little things.

Let’s start with the + :

Three seasons which are different from the usual is nice, 21 days instead of 28 or 30… Well, why not.
