Astrog
Fly for a minute or two through empty space to a waypoint, then something appears and kills you instantly, sending you back to empty space. Repeat.
If you find some enemies that do less damage, there is some combat, but it’s not terribly interesting, you just switch to your lower movement speed and circle-strafe mostly.

Defenders of the Last Colony
Back to the old days!!
Thats the best part of this game wich will get u back to the 90’s arcade machines but with that graphic upgrade that has been growing during the last decade.
Its gameplay is very elaborated. its plenty of action but you must have a good strategy to pass every level cause ur core will be under attack very often.
It has a local multiplayer mode wich is just madness, very fun to play with another person, and also very fun to play it alone.
The effects are very cool, great work there.

My overall feeling after playing is good.
At first I didn’t get the game mechanics of the campaign, then I realize that is all about charging the colony with the blue things that pop around. Managing to defend the colony while I was gathering the energy was tricky, but the mix of strategy and fast shooter was satisfying. After playing with several ships I prefer the Striker (love the boost, and it’s the only ship with that ability). Local coop was more fun than playing the campaign alone.
Graphics are amazing and music is great too. I didn’t mind that I couldn’t change the controls, after all is a twin stick shooter, it plays as you can expect from a twin stick shooter. I didn’t have any troubles playing with my 360 or xbox one wireless controller (it also works with Steam controller). It seems that devs addressed the crash and skip intro problems, which is always nice. It can have some fps drops if there are too many units on screen, but usually you take care of the enemies before that happens.

The game has a lot of replayability even with a small amount of weapons and power-ups because the looping mechanic makes the levels more challenging. In a way, the player is being made to be actually stranded on the “raft boat” when a swarm of variety of enemies flood the looped levels. The difficulty bump between the base levels and loop 1 is pretty huge, but it is set to work out by the time the player gets to looped stages. Unlocking the costumes and daily mode were/are a fun part of the game which made playing the game greater. Overall, the game itself is really great, and it being free is kind of insane because I could see the game having a price tag between $1-10 as it is, honestly. Hope the developers make more!

Dark Gravity
Shoot, destroy, collect, craft and destroy even more! “Dark Gravity” is a fast-paced, low poly vertical shoot’em up game that features non-linear campaign mode with lots of enemies and bosses. Craft new weapons, upgrade your fighter and build an ultimate aerial war machine!
After the fifth world war, there was peace in the world. For over a decade, the Grand Alliance has been leading humanity towards a better tomorrow by stifling all dangers in the bud. For some time, however, there is suspicion of a new threat that cannot be ignored.
As a member of SAF forces, your mission is to take over the Shielton base, captured by unknown rebels. No one knows who they are and what they want. What’s worse, even IMC forces couldn’t drive them away from the base because of their advanced weaponry. Weaponry out of this world. But… are those rebels the main threat? Isn’t there anything bigger behind all this? No time for questions! You must stop them at all costs!
Gameplay mechanics are very simple - destroy all enemies and try to avoid every bullet… well, at least those which can be avoided. Your special maneuver allows you to dodge normal projectiles. Even if you get hit, you will only lose one extra weapon! However, watch out for powerful bosses! They can thorn you into pieces with their ultimate unavoidable attacks!
The story mode can be completed in a few various ways. Military operations are carried out on several fronts simultaneously. It’s up to you which path you will choose. From battles high in the sky, through military bases, underground factories, collapsed mines and abandoned laboratories, to secret Arctic research facilities and the interiors of unknown civilization artifacts - you must go through all of this several times to accomplish all missions.
Every difficulty level is different. Improving your skills and fighter will help you out at facing hard and insane mode bosses, as they don’t appear at easier levels. Enemy’s layouts will change as well as their shooting patterns. At higher difficulties, you will also meet enemies that you have not met before.
Collecting drop parts and blueprints throughout the missions will allow you to unlock and craft new fighters, weapons, and upgrades. However, remember that only playing at the highest levels of difficulty will allow you to achieve a pinnacle of technology. Uncover the crafting tree and develop unique power-ups!

Cannibal Crossing
I rarely buy full priced games but Cannibal Crossing is an exception due to Death Road to Canada.
The game is enjoyable yet frustrating with bugs, crazy difficulty scaling Days 1-4 is easy, 5-6 sometimes its hard depending on RNG ( AI aggro is random) beyond 7 gets crazy and you just die from lack of ammo, food, black sludge infection and when you run out stamina running and dodging Negatives even if your stamina skills are maxed out. Due to the pacing of the game I have to prioritize on certain skills like dodge, maxing health and stamina recovery in normal mode. There’s a lot of bugs and needs more polishing, there are times I still get hit from Boss attacks after I defeat them and I die which is frustrating to start all over . Base building is fun but also takes a lot of resources away if you have to build ammo.

Can’t recommend this game in its current state.
Lacking so many things that would makes it playable.
Game says its coop(couch coop in the same house, forget remote play and parsec, not worth the hassle), but that is on my top 5 worst coop experience in my book. why?
The more people you are the harder the game is(that is some what fair BUT!), to the point where if your 4 players, killing just one zombie in the beginning is a hassle, also a weird thing the more players the faster in game time goes and its a pretty big issue since everything gets harder the longer you stay, in solo you can loot, kill and set up a base in the first day, coop…. not so much, before my friends and I could even loot a few houses it was night and horde time. So everybody died, the game spawned us at different places on the map, but centered the camera view between us, so impossible to regroup and we ended up just not playing the game. We did manage build a few items for a base to scrap weapons, always awesome the spend materials to build stuff that just doesn’t work, like it literally didn’t work, no interaction with the machine at all. no quick “break down” in inventory.

Flashlight
Full disclosure, this game is developed by a friend. That being said, it’s a relief to be able to say that the Flashlight is good, so I don’t have to fake being nice.
I’m a purveyor of twin-stick style shooters - Synthetik, Nuclear Throne, Assault Android Cactus, Helldivers, The Ascent - all games I have a decent amount of hours in. Flashlight can stand shoulder to shoulder with all of them in terms of raw fun. The multiplayer modes, where the game really shines in my opinion, are a blast. They’re high-tension bouts of raw skill. Mobility is limited in this game, so good aim, tactical weapon use, and coordination are key to victory. You can also play the story mode cooperatively or single player to hone your skills, mowing down waves of zombies and bot mercenaries.

This is a game that gives retro vibes but all the fun a shooter has.
It’s a great game to play with others and because it has various modes it doesn’t get borring.
If you are looking for a no brainer pick to play with other people this is definetly your game

Teleglitch: Die More Edition
Teleglitch is an anomaly. That’s a play on words, based on the ever-present black goo that engulfs every corner of this game. But seriously folks, I have put in quite a bit of undocumented hours into Teleglitch: Die More Edition and have yet to beat it. So my perspective is from someone who hasn’t beat level 6 yet.
I say it’s an anomaly, because so many reviews describe it as repetitive, esoteric, self-indulgent, and impossible, and yet so many describe it as more horrifying and entertaining than any other game they’ve played. From my point of view– it’s a little of both. But, in the end I side with the latter.

_EDIT: A week or two after writing my review, I finally beat Teleglitch DME. In the process, I learned something that affects my review: it seems the charm of Teleglitch is the way that it becomes your gaming Arch-Nemesis. It mocks and sneers at you while committing heinous crimes, daring you to stop it. You become driven by your hate to defeat it… and hate keeps a man alive . Or at least refusing to stay dead.
NOTE: The following is not a simple “buy/don’t buy” review, but more of an investment guide. There’s a “buy/don’t buy” verdict at the bottom, but it doesn’t make much sense without the review._
