WoMen in Science

WoMen in Science

Fun farming game, you have to make things instead of buying which is kind of awesome, but I got to winter and still hadn’t found a bucket to milk the cow, so very little money was coming in so I just started a new game, I’m hoping I can figure out how to milk the cow, it would help get through winter as well as being able to cook, but I really like the game and its kind of being made as we play.

I think that this game deserves a lot of positive feedback, so I really wanted to give it a thumbs up!

It’s much better than I’ve expected considering that it’s still an early access. You can easily enjoy it at this stage of game development and it’s surely worth your time and money. If you love science, technology or just wish that you could play game like Stardew Valley but with added bonus of gaining insights of how things work in real life - give it a go! I also love the dialogs and general game story that makes you feel that you’re being part of enlightened and progressive community.

I like the game, parts are a bit tedious though. It’s nice to able to either have the battle automatically go, or you get to choose who attacks what. Let’s just say the grind is real in this game. Your armour constantly will break so you have to make another set or buy from the shop. Finding some ingredients/ parts for recipes is a bit hard at least for me. For fishing you need to get leaves and sticks, why are leaves so hard to find.

Overview

This game does the bare minimum of everything it claims to have. Some things in the games ‘About’ are rather disingenuous to this as well; this is the inspiration in creating an extensive and spoiler-free review. The combat, farming, quests, dialog and environments are the same exact cliches as every other game of this type. Everything felt uninspired and dry. All in all this had a feeling of being an early access game where all major mechanics were present but had yet to be fleshed out. Many games fall into this category, and a lot of them make up for it by being charming or unique in some niche- this game does not.

I bought this game on Black Friday, when it was a few dollars off the normal price - not much of a discount, but enough that I was willing to pull the trigger on it, as I’d had my eye on it for a while. It looked like a fun little time-waster, for when I don’t have the brainpower to do anything else.

The graphics are good, and the character models are cute. Controls are easy to get used to, and you can customize keybinds if you don’t like the way they’re set up as default. Quests are generally fairly easy, though some become available before you actually have the means to complete them. I was unable to complete a seasonal quest because of this, but it probably comes back around in the next year, so that’s little more than a minor frustration.

I bought the game when I was locked up at home for corona Quarantine and found myself with qay too many time on my hands. For 13€ I didn’t expect much. Maybe entertaiment for one, if I’m lucky two days. Well I couldn’t have been more wrong. As I am writing this review (the first review I have ever written for a game on steam) I am over 100 hours into the game and I have just finished the main Questlines.

Graphics

: After stardew Valley, Harvest Moon and Graveyard Keeper set the standard for this genre to be pixelated graphics its a very refreshing change to see one that is fully 3D and rendered in beautiful Unity(I asume) graphics. The desing of the characters is overly cute but I guess we have animal crossing to thank for that. Weather, Lighting flora and fauna create a very pleasing picture that does invite you to take screenshots of nice sunsets or moonlight nights.

Farmingggg! raises hand

If you enjoy farming games like Farm Ville or Stardew Valley, but at a more amateur level, Harvest Life is the game to consider. I was somehow very addicted to this game once I have started it, and couldn’t stop till I get 100% achievements. However, the game is still buggy in a way, but it didn’t really bother me.

So, basically you do…planting, fishing, chopping wood and taking care of your animals. Apart from the basic chores, there are other adventures within the game, that I shall not disclose. Simple game, but quite some content.

For those who like simple farming game, this is an enjoyable game with decent gameplay. Good for spending your free time sitting and doing relaxing stuff. No complicated thinking

required so it is suitable for beginners and kids, or for days when you’re too lazy to spend brain energy on a game.

The game still could use some improvements, or fixing, though. There are so many glitchy things in farming that had me ponder on quitting and getting a refund. For example, the cow would stack over each other so it became impossible to milk them. I had to resort to hiring a worker and set them on Shepherd task. Which is a big inconvenient, because sometimes the grandpa asks me to milk the cow for daily task, and I can’t get it done using worker/employee.

Moondrop Mountain

Moondrop Mountain

My wife absolutely loves farm sim games. She plays them until the cows come home. But after spending hundreds of hours in-game, she runs out of content. This game is my love letter to her - an attempt to create a farming game that doesn’t grow stale.

I’ve tried to do that by mashing up the farm sim genre with one of gaming’s old-school genres, the roguelike. Every game will be different, depending on what perks and potions you discover. Choose a different build and learn a different playstyle. Will you be a master miner, excavating for gems in the depths? Will you be a shepherd, keeping watch over your flocks? Perhaps an alchemist, using arcane lore to help plants grow stronger. The mountain trail is full of puzzles to solve and mysteries to discover, and the procedural generation of puzzles means that you’ll never solve the same puzzle twice.

Features:

– A unique plant growth system based on the power of friendship.

– A randomized potion system - potions start off unknown (and potentially dangerous) until they are used.

– Explore the mountain trail, which offers treasure and distractions in equal measure.

– Unlockable perks, potions, seeds, blueprints, recipes, costumes, music, UI skins, house additions, statues, and pets.

– Run-based gameplay - explore a different build each time you play.

– Zero marriage candidates. The main character is based on my wife, and she doesn’t mess around.

Alchemy Story

I was a backer for this game early on, I had high hopes for it back then and if anything my hopes for it now are even higher. Yes it’s early access, so as such it has some minor bugs/glitches and in the beginning you may find yourself wandering aimlessly. But this game is pure relaxation.. and really, isn’t that why most people purchase and play these sorts of games? The art is charming and beyond cute. The characters so far show promise in terms of personality. There’s a lot of things to do, upgrade, brew and purchase considering how early on in development this game still is.

So far I find this game constantly trying to kill me with its overabundance of cuteness. If I had to describe this game, it would be the Arcane magic version of My Time at Portia (Magic instead of Engineering), with the small town aesthetic of Stardew Valley, with a super cute Harvest Moon/Animal Crossing art style. As the game is in early access, this review may not always be up to date, but I’ll update when needed for new viewers.

Pros:

The inventory system is pretty easy to get used to and best of all no limits to weight or stack, to my knowledge

Very chill and fun game, you can spend hours in it without realising. If you enjoy farming and relaxing games like Stardew Valley, Graveryard Keeper or Harvest Moon, you’ll love this one. Soundtrack is really good and envolving, the art is absolutey CUTE :3 plus the dialogues and sceneries are full of funny references.

It’s still in early access so keep in mind that there’s a lot more content to come! The developers are always uploading bug fixes and new paches and they are also very communicative with the community, they take into consideration a lot of suggestion of the players.

this is a chill game, if you are a content creator on twitch or other, it is perfect to play while interacting with chat, if you like farm style, like stardew or haverstmoon,i highly recommend, take the game and just have fun, keep in mind that the game is only in early access, the developers are working hard on the game.

I was able to test before the early access, all suggestions and other things that i reported to them are taken into account.

If u’re going to play, I hope u love It as I did, and remember It’s still an early access so there’s much more to come!
