Kitchen Simulator 2015

Kitchen Simulator 2015

the entire game looks like those terrible 90’s compressed cgi full motion video things that play before you begin a game.

there are no options, period.

so the music is way too quiet, turning it up leads to excruciating beeps and boops that i guess serve as a notification. none of my actions made any noise.

graphics as i mentioned, are just awful. no options there either. chugs like a chungus. made in UNREAL engine.

Upon launch, you are greeted with a dreadful menu that has three things to click on. PLAY, TUTORIAL, QUIT. Even worse, they have those three things repeated right next to their english counterparts, now in russian. One of the worst UIs i have ever seen.

Restaurant Empire II

Restaurant Empire II

I’ve played Restaurant Empire II off and on over many years (counting that the first game is included in II). When buying REII you get the full original RE game included.

The graphics are basic, the AI of customers and staff very limited, and the interface clunky in that you have to do a lot manually and one by one - for example you have to add recipes individually to the restaurant menu. But. I find it strangely compelling to try to get my chef up to 100% skill levels in as many recipes as possible, moving him between cuisines to round off his skills.

As a fan of the first Restaurant Empire game, at first I was disappointed with this one. A lot of the animations are the same, and this game adds coffee and dessert shops, so you have customers eating sandwiches and cookeis with forks and knives. Also, all the customers are talking on cell phones and using laptops now, which is annoying when you’re waiting for a chance to click on them. I actually quit the game for a long time because of these irritations.

However, I recently came back to it and I’m glad I did. It’s a lot of fun as a strategy game, and still fun just to tinker around with the restaurants and watch the chefs cook. The first game lacked female chefs, aside from Delia, but this time there are plenty of them, and that’s a welcome change too. The game isn’t very difficult, but it has some challenge to it, and it’s hard to find challenging strategy games these days.

This game is fun and challenging at the same time.

The beginning starts “easy” but after the first levels you will see how stressfull the game can get.

Edit: I played through all of the levels, exept for the last two, which are in my opinion too hard to complete them.

Pizza Express

Pizza Express

You are roped by your friend Lucky into the job of preparing pizzas for her friend Gastone’s new pizzeria. Officially, you are in charge of rolling out the dough (with just one click), and pouring sauce and sprinkling ingredients onto the flattened dough. This is your main role when the pizzeria’s open. After work though, you are also in charge of the kitchen’s setup and the type of pizzas on the menu.

After work, you are also unofficially in charge of advertising, setting work hours, and buying furniture and gifts for the shop. (Considering you also get to name the shop and pretty much have the deciding vote on things, how much ownership does Gastone really have over this place? lol)

I’m 7+ hours into this game and still enjoying it immensely. Its pixely graphics may lead the casual browser to perceive that it is a bit of a cheap game and will perhaps not have much that’s satisfying to offer, but don’t let the appearance fool you: this is one of the best business simulation games on Steam! I am very surprised at its depth.

There are essentially two phases: day (open hours) and night (closed hours).

During open hours, customers will flood into the store, order pizzas off of your menu, and then wait for you to make them. In this part you’ll be playing something akin to “cook, serve, delicious” where you actually have to assemble the pizza from your batch of ingredients and then send it out to the customers. You dont' want to keep the customers waiting too long, so you have to build the pizzas quickly and accurately. One thing that potential players may NOT like about this section is that you can’t just assemble the pizzas using hotkeys, like you can do in “cook, serve, delicious”. In this game, you must click each ingredient and manually drag it to the pizza, and you have to do it accurately. If you don’t drag the item directly over the pizza, it doesn’t count. This will be a turn off to some people, but if you are okay with this, you are in for a treat.

Pizza Simulator

Pizza Simulator

Pizza Simulator is a unique combination of strategy & simulation game with economic elements. You take the role of Pizzeria Manager. Start from the bottom with few bucks in your pocket to deal with the challenges of the pizza business. Come out on top, build the largest pizza franchise in the world, or end up getting broke. Welcome to the world of Pizza Simulator.

Here are just slices of the big pizza that you can eat in Pizza Simulator

Making pizzas - world’s record - 14 pizzas in 2.35m. Do it tasty, but do it fast.

Leaderboards - compare rating, speed, finances with other players

Customization - countless options of customization

Marketing - effective advertising = easier success

Delivery - everyone loves hot pizza, hate a cold one. Be always on time.

A PIZZA SLICE A DAY KEEPS SADNESS AWAY

From rags to riches - start with a small restaurant and end up with the largest pizza franchise in the world. Manage your finances as there is always a lot of expenses but mostly shortages of cash. Search for staff, hire, and fire them if it’s needed.

Create the best pizzas that have been ever made having more than 50 ingredients to choose from. Remember, even an ideal pizza for one client can be horrible for others.

It’s never easy when every restaurant manager wants you to fail. Rats, bugs, electricity shortages, sanitary & tax controls, mafia are just a few problems you would be dealing with. Although if you can’t beat them fairly, maybe it’s time for “dirty work”. Make them regret the day they have started competing with you.

Make your dream come true. If there is an internal businessman in you and you love pizza, you came to the right place.

You’re gonna serve pizzas for lots of picky clients. You’ll meet veg/fish/meat lovers, children, old people, and teenagers. All of them have different tastes. It’s won’t be a simple walk in the park.

Fast Food Manager

Absolutely awesome so far, enough to keep you busy to start with. love the way you need to go buy your product/equipment and set up first before you open. Funny characters, easy to use controls, highly recommended for those who like to roam the streets but also work a business at the same time. Looking forward to the first updates :-)

Simple but very fun. I’ve missed these type of games. I’m looking forward to future updates, like furnishing your apartment, more challenging food combos, wider assortment of goods you can buy and use in your businesses, like higher prices, better quality etc… or even maybe more managerial approach with businesses where you’ve hired workers. Great little game overall!

Espresso Tycoon

Espresso Tycoon

Espresso Tycoon is a brand-new approach to the old classic tycoon games you remember from your childhood. You will deal with a hardcore management and an economy full of variable structures, connections and solutions. The best of the best will be able to build a successful coffee business and possibly a whole coffee empire.

Just imagine… you can build your own coffee shop! Everything is in your hands. Build the whole strategy, which includes:

  • picking the best spot for your café

  • decorating

  • hiring and managing employees

  • optimizing the ingredients supply

  • analyzing the budget

  • advertising your coffee shop

What do you expect from a visit to a coffee shop? A great experience! That’s why, when you’re building your own, you have to consider a lot of details – location, decoration, employees, music, the atmosphere… and the main product - the coffee itself.

You have your favorite coffee, right? So do your customers. Do the market research to find out their preferences. Use a 3D coffee editor to make different recipes to delight them. You can combine multiple ingredients in a very creative way.

Start, build and develop your coffee shop. Check your budget - do you have enough money to invest, or will you have to make some cuts? Decide where and when you want to start your new coffee business.

Neon Noodles - Cyberpunk Kitchen Automation

Neon Noodles - Cyberpunk Kitchen Automation

So much that I like about this game. I liked the idea of Overcooked, but it was always too frantic for me and in Neon Noodles I like taking time to plan and be an efficient chef. Designing the layout and instructions is intuitive and works well even with a controller. The UI is clean and clearly communicates, while still looking really good. Building something that works first, and then optimizing it based on the 3 categories (roughly space, time, and complexity) adds additional challenges. It makes me want to cook all of these delicious recipes.
