Escape the Loop

Escape the Loop

What if I told you, we’ve done this before? You’ve read this text, you’ve looked at these screenshots, and you’ve watched this trailer. Not once, but a hundred times. Maybe even more. And in five minutes, you won’t remember any of it – and do it all over again.

Escape the Loop is an open-world adventure game about time and recollection. You’re stuck in a time loop – after five minutes, the world goes back to its initial state. Everything resets. You keep nothing. Except your memory of past loops. Every loop will be exactly the same, unless you change it through your actions. Use your knowledge of previous loops to find out what causes the time disruptions and break free once and for all.

Burn Me Twice

This game was absolutely stunning. Some mention the “glitchy” graphics. That part did not bother me in the slightest. The story kept me interested the entire time, and when I wasn’t playing the game, my mind was turning about how I could get to the next milestone, in the game. The atmosphere of the game is stunning. The music was my favorite part. I would purchase a soundtrack, to this game, for sure! The sound effects were also impeccable. I did have to wait for a bug to get fixed: I was unable to complete the last part of the game; I won’t go into detail, but it was an issue with the “bone zone”.

Nice little game that left me wanting more.

It seems to be heavily inspired by the Phoenix Wright series, similarly splitting gameplay into investigation phase, where you hunt for clues and evidence, and trial phase where you present what you’ve found in court. The major difference is that the trials are rather simplistic in comparison - unlike PW, there’s no witness interrogation, and the evidence pool is much smaller. On the other hand, investigations seem more involved - it has Zelda-style gameplay (sans combat for the most part), where you explore an open world from a top-down perspective and solve puzzles. There are unfortunately only two cases to solve (plus the actiony final sequence), and the first serves as a sort of tutorial, so it’s easy and straightforward. The second one, however, is pretty good, with a few somewhat challenging puzzles to solve.

Timeless Adventure: A Journey To Begin

Timeless Adventure: A Journey To Begin

As our hero sits in a prison cell in the depths of the Kind Queen’s deadly dungeon, Death is about to carry out her duty and cross the hero off her list. When suddenly her hourglass stops working. Since her hourglass determines the time every humanoid being has to fork over its soul to the realm of Death, naturally this constitutes an existential crisis for Death. So, counter-intuitively, Death herself spared our hero’s life - for now. Well, she rips out the soul, converts it into a ghostly wraith, and commands the hero to search for the cause of the time freeze.

ADVENTURE INTO A TIMELESS WORLD

With this new quest at hand, our hero has no choice but to explore this altered world in this new form. But, generous as Death inherently is, the hero gets one unique ability for this unusual quest: Possession of any living or once-living being. And with that comes the ability to use the special skills, that the possessed has or once had.

So join our ghostly hero and venture through this idle world in search of answers for Death and maybe, just maybe, a way to avoid the dire consequences of standing at the head of Death’s list.
