Forklift Load

As you can probably tell by my hours played, I like this game. It’s a nice way to sit back and chill out. I just did my first speedrun of it, clocking in at around an hour and a half. I plan on getting faster. Overall, it’s the perfect speedrunning game with lots to discover, some nice music, and a world that’s kind of nice behind all the jankiness of the physics.

Except the jump upgrade mission, that one can burn.

I 100% it in one 6 hour extended playthrough. So it’s not exactly a long game, though not easy ether. Especially a certain rooftop mission.., anyway it’s impressive for a project that I think was made by one dude though overall it is very rough around the edges. Like on a technical level there are a lot of glitches and bugs. That said the word that comes to mind when trying to describe this game is artful.

There is something about the whole experience that was simply enchanting to me. It may be flawed but it most certainly is a work of art (and a fun game with decent challenge to boot). I haven’t played anything quite like it.

This game just keeps going. At least as much content after “finishing” the game as before. Really well put together 3!

I was not expecting to wholeheartedly enjoy this game as much as I did. From the amazing soundtrack to the laugh-out-loud humor (not even joking) to the real sense of growth in power as you progress, this game will remain near the top of my list for indie games for years. Best of all, you can feel the passion from the creator with every line of dialogue.

If the price is a bit daunting for you, I’d definitely recommend it on sale.

Overall I’d give this game a 8.5/10 - a game I would highly recommend, and I hope to see more from this developer in the future.

Escape the Loop

Escape the Loop

What if I told you, we’ve done this before? You’ve read this text, you’ve looked at these screenshots, and you’ve watched this trailer. Not once, but a hundred times. Maybe even more. And in five minutes, you won’t remember any of it – and do it all over again.

Escape the Loop is an open-world adventure game about time and recollection. You’re stuck in a time loop – after five minutes, the world goes back to its initial state. Everything resets. You keep nothing. Except your memory of past loops. Every loop will be exactly the same, unless you change it through your actions. Use your knowledge of previous loops to find out what causes the time disruptions and break free once and for all.

Somewhere in a Clay Nowhere

Somewhere in a Clay Nowhere

I played this game while it was being developed and have beaten it a few times now,

It’s about exploring an alien world and you can expect the gameplay experience to stay very dedicated to that idea. You won’t have a map, you won’t be able to read any signs, you won’t know who the person you’re talking to is or what they’re saying, you won’t know what the item you just picked up is, you won’t know why you died when you ate it, etc.

There is a lot of thought put into the design of this game and what it does or doesn’t tell you. I have played through a few times now and can highly recommend this game after not running into any bugs whatsoever (glitches, expect insect bugs). My advice is just know that this game doesn’t directly tell you very much information, so make sure to pay attention when it does!

The main focus of this game is gaining an understanding of an alien world. The more you interact with the game, the more your understanding grows. Curiosity is rewarded, and required in order to advance. The best way to know if something is possible is by simply giving it a try!

The game also offers excellent visuals and music. The black and white color palette mixed with the creative use of clay give this game a feel unlike any other I’ve played. Every zone of the map has a unique feeling to it, which really adds to the atmosphere. A fitting soundtrack also helps immerse you into this strange new world.

8089: The Next Action RPG

8089: The Next Action RPG

Been testing this since literal first alpha build so take this with a bit of “bias salt” if you want, but my honest opinion:

  • Game is great. Both in VR and non-VR modes. (I played primarily in non-VR). It’s riding on 5089 success and it does so very well imo. Phr00t’s charm is strong in this one.

  • Butter smooth controls, little bit of jank here and there, but otherwise game is great. runs smooth, framerate is stable and fairly well optimised (literally ran on GPD Win2).

  • Gameplay is pretty good. It’s fun to annihilate alien bugs with stealth kills or just shoot groups of enemies with whatever shotgun-sniper-mortar automatic weapon you make. Plenty of good combat abilities to make combat even more fun.

As of writing this review I’ve only been playing for 10 hours, but I seriously could see myself playing this for many more. Don’t let the graphics keep you from playing this game if it seems interesting to you, because once you get used to it, the potato looking bad guys reactions start to give it a certain charm. The real reason to play this game is the gameplay and the core game loop in this is pretty amazing. Primarily it is a game where you want to make your stats and gear’s numbers go higher, and to do that you have to continually venture further into difficult lands. As you progress the enemies grow stronger and you face different and interesting challenges that change up your gameplay. You can’t just rush to the higher level zones and scrape together better gear though, instead you have to activate each new area, which unlocks all the vendors and quests for that particular difficulty level. Supposedly this continues infinitely, and I have no reason to doubt it.

GAI Stops Auto: Right Version Simulator

GAI Stops Auto: Right Version Simulator

This game has taken me on an adventure. When I first started it I was a boy, not realizing the essence of life. But with every minute of this game I matured. With every action I opened my eyes wider, until, after one hour, I saw the truth: You have to be your own master. People are not just gonna stop and wait for you. You gotta motion them aside. Your whistle-power and traffic-stick are all it takes. Make them crash on the snow map so they pile up endlessly. Time your “goodbye” perfectly to make them hit the convoy that you shall not interere with. And dont let some buff guys with very few clothing on them tell you otherwise. Just do it. And then, just then, maybe, one day, you’ll stop an alien in a checkered shirt who will ask you this one question: “Have a sex?”

As someone who has been involved with the police on many occasions, I can confirm the accuracy of the situations portrayed in this game. The storyline is quite chilling and captures the intrigue of a ‘behind the scenes look at a Russian Police officer who has to pull over enough people to keep their career. It is both a sad and beautiful story set in Russia with an overwhelming majority of leather men who oftentimes just come out in herds from the woods. The creators did an excellent job portraying a country I have never been to and now I feel that I have.
