Penny’s Path
This was a great game, a well-written story. Immersive and creative characters with wonderful spins on late 1600s theology and the power of women. The voice acting is top notch. I really enjoyed it. Sister Benedetta is the best!

A modern day woman gets infected with COVID-19, then … gets sent back in time to the late 1600s of “New England” … or rather has a fever dream?
Praises
• Some animations are pretty.
• The hand-drawn art is a little rough, but it’s a refreshing change from how most visual novels are illustrated.
• Good attempts at old English (I think).
• Criticisms of religion, especially of Puritanism.
Complaints
• No Steam overlay, so no screenshots. (I’m too damn tired for ShareX.)

Tess Elated
Inspired by Minesweeper but unlike anything you’ve tried, Tess Elated is fresh and inspiring.
The vibrant and diverse cast of characters makes the story both interesting and rewarding with plenty of laughs.
With a colorful and fun art style and a joyful soundtrack, the game is sure to keep your interest.

“Tess Elated” is nothing new. In fact, it’s a direct copy of “Cavesweeper”. Also it’s NOT a logic puzzle as they claim, because it requires guesswork. A logic puzzle never requires any guessing, only logic. The game has no instructions or a way to skip the long repetitious dialogues between levels. The Medium and Hard modes use three and four colors, so you will spend most of your time guessing, unlike Minesweeper which inspired it. Also, the Achievements are broken.

Cat President 2: Purrlitical Revolution
Oh, a Rock! Studios is back at it again with the sequel to the visual novel I loved so much. Much like the first game, this game does not pretend to be something it’s not. It gives you everything you’d expect from its title and more. Six new candidates, six more cats to love. If you’re interested by a concept as funny as talking cats running for president, this is the VN for you.
Love this game! My vote would go to either Mr. Biscuits or Kaleidoscope.

I’m meant to stay impartial, but… Vote Kaleidoscope! Basically, 6 new VN’s about cats running for president - depending on the cat you choose! If you liked the crazy of the first, you’ll like this.

Dialogue: A Writer’s Story
“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.” ― George Bernard Shaw
Dialogue: A Writer’s Story is Tea Powered Games' first project, and a brilliantly complex visual novel with genuine depth concerning communication. I do love visual novels as a genre, but it has been sometime since I’ve played one with this much insight, perspective and replay value in it!
Here, we take the role of Lucille, a young author who has been working for an online literary magazine for some time now. Lucille published her first novel a couple years back - titled Mosaic - but it hasn’t been quite successful. Now, she is trying to write her second novel, and struggles with the content she wishes to put out. Our story starts as Adrian Torres, a biochemical researcher moves into to the flat across Lucille and unwittingly becomes the inspiration for her new main character. As the story progresses and narrates the year that she has written her novel, everyone around Lucille - her neighbor, her family, even her characters themselves - become part of the creative process; and we shape her interactions with people around her through various dialogue expressions.

Not happy with a lot of the limitd dialogue choices, and the price is way too high for a game that’s only a few hours long.

What Comes After
What Comes After is a short and touching side-scrolling visual novel which succeeds in sending an impactful message through only a few words. It’s a reminder that the lives of each and every one of us matters, be that of a human, of an animal or of a plant. It gives a soft nudge towards understanding that we can make life better by being kind, compassionate and considerate towards each other, and that changing the world starts by changing yourself, by bettering yourself.

I tried to play this game on stream for my community, but I admit that I was only able to get through about 20 minutes before deciding it was a game to play offline for myself. I’m glad that I decided to play it offline because I felt that it was an intimate, emotional journey that I need to go at my own pace.
I will stress that is an emotional journey, and could potentially be triggering depending on your head-space - the game deals with a lot of heavy topics such as mental health (depression, anxiety, etc.), deaths (or near death experiences), and the meaning of life. Conversations were difficult at time, but I think that it was worth pushing through to see the final message.
