I was not expecting to wholeheartedly enjoy this game as much as I did. From the amazing soundtrack to the laugh-out-loud humor (not even joking) to the real sense of growth in power as you progress, this game will remain near the top of my list for indie games for years. Best of all, you can feel the passion from the creator with every line of dialogue.
If the price is a bit daunting for you, I’d definitely recommend it on sale.
Overall I’d give this game a 8.5/10 - a game I would highly recommend, and I hope to see more from this developer in the future.

Furry Shakespeare: Love’s Lizards Lost
The young king of Navarre has declared a three year study of Castle Dragongate, an ancient keep of unknown origin. He wishes to uncover its secrets, which have been fabled to link back to the beginning of time.
Something like that, at least. It sounds like an awesome spring break for you and the rest of the king’s entourage. There’s no possible way that you’ll stumble on to a conflict that is in dire need of resolution. Hey! The young queen of France is here with HER entourage! That’s going to lead to some sexy hijinks, right? I can already feel the existential dread of what may be lurking within those ancient ruins fading away!

Paper Shakespeare: To Date Or Not To Date?
So far I’m having a great time, clever writing, the art is very good, and I’m enjoying the premise. A more substantial review will come later but I wanted to leave a quick endorsement!

Bought this for the dinosaur mod. Worked out so far for me. I wrote a much longer review but it wasn´t sent so I keep it short…

Hardland
This is legitimately one of the best games I have ever played. The world building is truly world class, and the game is in many ways a technical masterpiece, fast travel is literally 1 frame, and the lighting… I am not kidding, rivals Red Dead Redemption 2, and this was all done with a custom engine. A team of 2, 1 Artist, and 1 Programmer.
To fully appreciate it though, you must understand that even though it kind of looks like zelda, the game is more like monkey island or another adventure game- you are solving world scale puzzles through interactions with the NPC’s and exploration, and the combat is intended as light gating for certain areas, not as a main focus of the game. It does not hold your hand at all and for this reason it can be hard to tell what you are supposed to do next. There is no journal, nor quest tracker, and the world is big and everyone seems to speak in riddles, but i promise you if you keep picking at it everything starts to come together. The first few hours are for exploring and meeting people. The dot connection will come, but you have to pay attention to the world and what people are saying.

This game for me was a hidden gem, its a flawed gem but quite a unique one as well. I should probably say that this also isn’t a game for everyone as there are some design decisions that may scare off the less adventurous.
The greatest strength of this game is by far its world building and writing. This may sound strange but you spend almost all of your time talking to NPCs, hearing what they have to say and thinking about what it means. The dialogue is almost always a prompt to continue but sometimes you have to make a dialogue choice. This sounds boring but the dialogue is really part of a puzzle for you to discover then figure out and that is what makes the dialogue so engaging. The game warns you in the title screen to pay attention to what is being said to you and they were not kidding. Some small comment a random NPC makes or some item description can lead you to an important item, character, piece of information or situation. You slowly discover this strange world and who all the players are through paying attention to your surroundings, it feels like you are a detective connecting all the dots. The writing is also quite funny, some dialogue exchanges had me bursting out laughing.

Gloom and Doom
Dude, this is so cutting!
I had so much fun playing this game. Well, that’s not quite a surprise to me, seeing as I was already predisposed to like it as soon as I read the description: “90s outcast movies” quirky, but oh so human, supernatural characters, “a dark coming-of-age story” against the backdrop of looming apocalypse, comicbook style visuals…But beyond that initial hook of 90s nostalgia, loads of pop culture references and familiar tropes I found much more - a careful look at depression, loneliness and alienation, being stuck in a loop with no exit, themes of free will vs destiny, choices and responsibility, and a central heartwarming relationship between two unlikely protagonists.

I’m not really one for visual novels, but this game has really changed my mind. It was recommended by a friend, and found it amazing with the ton of pop culture references in the dialogue and backgrounds. Simply amazed that this was all done by one guy. It does have some deep themes, but is well paced with its sense of humour. Also loving the art style, its unique and refreshing from the typical anime style. The intro/tutorial has also got to be the most interesting/different (in a good way) that I’ve seen in a long time in any game.

Winter’s Trumpet
A lovely addition to the series, and best read after completing the first game (Asher), to better understand the characters and setting. Great art, music, and atmosphere, as per usual. Was also very nice to see the character you’d least expect allow himself to be somewhat vulnerable.

Winter’s Trumpet is a charming and short point-and-click/visual novel hybrid with a retro design and a slightly creepy atmosphere. It takes place in the same world as Asher and Tell a Demon, and players who love these games have absolutely nothing to lose by giving it a go: in fact, the events of Winter’s Trumpet take place before those depicted in Asher, and the former gives us an interesting look at the motivations of several key characters of the series. For people who haven’t played the dev’s other games, beginning with Winter’s Trumpet isn’t the best way to go, in my opinion, since it’s short and the story is a bit vague if you’re not already aware of what the main plotlines are.

Pedro’s Adventures in Spanish [Learn Spanish]
Very simple, suitable for learning Spanish in a fun way; the graphics are in 2D but detailed enough so that you can see the details well.
The game has a plot that you have to follow, you play the young Pedro, the story starts with a beautiful princess who is kidnapped, but who took her? and where did it go?
You have to help Pedro to get to the Castle to find the princess and bring her back home.
There is no translation, but only the Spanish language, there is a tutorial that helps you at the beginning, it is quite easy to understand because we can associate the words with the objects we see or the actions we have to perform.

Hola soy Pedro.
I started this game knowing not a single word of Spanish but after persisting I was gradually able to work out a lot of the key words. You can just click around and try and do the puzzles without trying to figure out what people are telling you but I soon got stuck with this approach. Spending a bit of time in the world you will find obvious clues that people tell you. Sometimes they just outright tell you what to do which you can miss if you are not carefully listening. Music in the game is really relaxing and reminds me of Activate Jetpack cross with a JRPG.

King Alexander XI is dead, and without heir.
Your parents want you to be that heir. Luckily for you, there’s totally an ancient tradition for electing a new ruler in times like these: simply lock eight children of royal blood (or the closest thing) in Castle Elsinore, complete with the ghosts of past rulers, and let them manipulate the living heck out of each other and the local population! Two shall rise above the rest: King and Queen (or Queen/Queen, King/King, King/Nobody, Queen/Nobody)! Everyone else that is still alive gets to go home!
